First I go online and access their website, sign in and go to make an appointment. You put in your zip code and the nearest Quest comes up. I usually do it a few weeks before my appointment, especially in season. You pick out the time and they send you a code to use when you check in. I go to Quest in the Merchant's Shopping Center. It is in the strip mall between Motor Vehicles and the Kava Shop. I try to get an early appointment, especially since I was fasting. Today's was at 7:40, just perfect because I live only 10 minutes away. I check in using my license and insurance card. Then my name goes on an electronic screen, which shows my first name and last initial and the time of my appointment. The staff is super nice and efficient and I was called with 15 minutes of my arrival. I gave my orders to the staff member and she enters it and prints out the labels for each test. They have really streamlined the process. The staff are experts and I'm done before I know it. I am out so quickly that Dave doesn't really have time to read the paper! I don't understand why we should be forced to wait two hours when we have an appointment. That was my husband's recent experience. The previous week I needed lab work but arrived with no appointment. I registered, scanned my insurance card and ID, and Sat down fully expecting to have to wait (after all I had no appointment). Although my name appeared on the board for an hour it then promptly dropped off the board. When I asked the clueless lady at the door, she assured me they were just getting ready to call me. After 10 minutes watching others who were after me get called, I pressed again and was again fluffed off and told I would be called soon. At that point another lady said her name had also dropped off. So...I was forced to be a pain (you asked for it!) and insisted I be seen. When they called me to the back, all the info I had input when I registered (90 minutes ago) had magically vanished. Once again, I had to provide my ID and insurance card. They had no idea why my info had disappeared. Everyone here is clueless (or doesn't give a damn). The only way to get Quest to fix this mess is to NOT support them! I used Milton Street when I lived in the South Cape and had no issues there. Avoid Del Prado or find another lab!!! There are other options!

The lab results are quickly available. The wait time is much shorter than other commercial labs. They are better able to tackle insurance issues than other smaller labs. Truly torn between enduring the moronic staff and getting fast results. I guess you have to suffer a little for the necessary.
