This was very convenient for me because all I had to do was check in at the kiosk when I arrived at the lab and just wait in the waiting room area for my name to be called. They have a large screen at the Check-In counter that shows your name and when you are not in line to be called by the lab technician. The lab technician called my name and took me to the back to get my blood work done. She was very professional and very nice, and made me feel very comfortable when doing my blood work. She took my blood work and made me sign out on a pad, and I was on my way within 15 minutes. This was a good experience and it was quick which I like very much. Quest Diagnostics is a good place for lab work, and would be glad to come back here again if I needed blood work to be done.

My technician was not happy about working on Christmas Eve, she was rude and snippy from the moment I walked in the door. As she asked questions it was absolutely obvious that she had an attitude and when I didn't understand a question she asked she began to slam things and I asked if there was a problem with my paperwork and in an extremely loud voice she nearly screamed "no ma'am I am just doing my job ma'am. Show me the arm you would like me to use ma'am" and she was rough and completely unprofessional. As I left she ran across the hall and said to the other technician "did you hear what that woman said to me? " As if she was the victim and had not manhandled me in a medical environment. I am a registered nurse and I have never experienced that kind of behavior from any medical professional. Someone with that temper should not be working with patients in vulnerable situations. No one wants a person with a needle going into their arm by a woman slamming her equipment and raising her voice in a loud and hateful manner.

So I went out to my car and cried (I'm pregnant) then remembered I had already purchased a test online, I was going to have done on my own that Friday. So I went back inside and did the walk in feature at check in. At 4:45, a woman came out and told me I would have to leave, they didn't have time to draw me. I explained my appointment was canceled because of the stat order but I already had an order in the system, could they please just draw me, it's a time sensitive test and they're always quick. She said no and I would have to leave. So I did, took my order to IU who had no problem doing the draw before they closed and were super understanding, friendly and helpful. I've done many draws at Quest, but I won't be having any more done.

I came in for a one hour glucose test - which is where you drink something they give you, wait an hour, and then get your blood drawn. When I was called back initially, the phlebotomist asked which arm I wanted to use, to which I responded, "Don't I need to drink the thing first?" And she said, looking at my paperwork, "Oh. Yeah, I'm glad you said something." ...me too! Why was reading my paperwork not the first step? Sadly, this pattern continued. An hour later, when I came back for the blood draw, a different phlebotomist was seeing me. She took my blood and then said, "Let me go get your paperwork so I can put your label on here." When she returned she explained that she needed to take more blood - because my paperwork indicated that my doctor wanted other tests done. So I got stuck twice. Again, it was pretty irritating that checking my paperwork was not one of the initial steps taken with either person. Like I said, I've never had a good experience here and, after yesterday, I will not be returning to this location although it is the most convenient one for me. Hopefully other locations are a little more on top of things.

I had such a fast, efficient, and friendly experience at Quest Diagnostics. This lab is located in…read morethe Community Health Pavilion in Speedway. The office building is fairly new and very clean. Signage inside told me exactly where I needed to go, and the Quest lab is located just outside the elevator on the second floor. I would highly recommend making an appointment if you can. You will be seen quicker than just walking in without an appointment, and you can skip the in-person registration process. Sign-in was a breeze with the touch screen kiosk in the waiting room. The technician who drew my blood was friendly and efficient. I was in and out of Quest in less than 5 minutes. No one really likes having their blood drawn, but if I had to again I would definitely return to Quest Diagnostics.
