The blood draw was competently done. The counter staff were ok but mostly made you feel like you were a nuisance they were putting up with. (I was already irritated bringing my 74 yo partner here because the google directions suck and once you go up the parking trying to figure out how to find the entrance is challenging already so there is that, and then you have to ask someone where labcorp is because its not obvious and then you have to check in on a stupid machine, which is enraging because i fail to see how increasingly making us interface with screens is making the world better for anyone except billionaires.) uh but i digress. Aside from that frustrating and de-humanising intro to the place, I came along with him because labcorp will not take cash and my partner does not have a credit card, and they have always wanted payment up front before since he's doing self pay. THIS TIME THEY WOULD NOT TAKE MY CARD EVEN THOUGH I AM STANDING RIGHT THERE TRYING TO GIVE IT TO THEM . This is even more infuriating because they have a machine for it, and I went out of my way to go there for this reason. Instead the dude insisted on billing me for it. Not only do i feel it should be illegal not to take legal tender, they now made me have to go out of my way all over again to figure out how to log into his patient portal (he always gets confused) so i can pay his stupidly expensive lab bill after the fact, wasting yet more of my time. The staff here is incredibly helpful and personable. They are friendly and knowledgeable. I go out of my way to come here from Oakland because of my first experience with the LabCorp team here. I was having a stressful day but needed labs done prior to a medical appointment. I had to come between appointments and the wait was longer than I expected. After waiting about twenty minutes, I told the receptionist I would have to leave and come back another time. She took pity on me and squeezed me in front of the line so I could make it to my next appointment on time. I let her know what a difference her act of kindness made to me and how she made my day. I came back today for more lab work (with time to wait) and the staff was just as kind. I didn't have to skip the line today. read more

Whatever this lab has going on i will no longer take part in getting things done here. I don't understand how i make an appointment and have to wait super long while i just see people just standing there doing nothing but talking. Also looks like some employees lack professionalism and manners don't understand i have to wait longer than usual for my appointment and see girls just standing doing absolutely nothing. This lab has a pathetic sassy twerp at the front desk whose only fulfillment in life is in barking out condescending and confusing orders at patients. The lab is literally upstairs from another blood drawing station and instead of having clear signage or communicating professionally to patients about it, Captain Jackoff at the front desk seems to have the time of his life watching people struggle and acting annoyed that people don't know there are two nearly identical labs in the same building. Place sucks. Go somewhere else. read more

Tip: don't wait on line to speak to the person at the desk - Check in on the kiosk to the right corner upon entrance. Use your ID or scan the code on your order. My experience went well. Facility was clean though there were many people waiting, I'm assuming everyone had different reasons for being there as to the left there are another testing area. Luckily my wait was very short without an appt. About twenty five minutes max. Phlebotomist was the most gentle, professional person. Super quick and painless too. Asked appropriate questions, verified the tests taken and the tube information. I parked on the 67th street parking (ramp)- literally to the left of the front of the building) look for the John Muir signs to enter the correct side of building - Labcorp is on the same floor of the roof parking. Since I was there for less than an hour parking didn't need to be validated. I was able to insert the receipt like ticket to the machine on the ramp upon leaving. read more

I haven't had blood work done in many years, so I was a tad anxious going in today. Decided to arrive 8:30am, shortly after opening. Registration went quickly. First check in at the kiosk in the waiting room, you need to show your cards there. Then someone calls you to the desk and an admin person further checks you in. That went quickly too. Samuel was the technician who administered my blood test. He was kind, professional, and had a good sense of humor. Best of all: I never even felt the needle go in. I am definitely requesting Samuel next time I come in. To top it off, there was plenty of free parking just steps from the LabCorp front door. read more

I had to get some blood work done and I've been putting it off since December, trying to eat healthier but sometimes it is hard to stay on track. So I decided to do it and had to fast for at least 8 hours and then I realized the process would go more quickly if I scheduled and an appointment. I decided to select this location as my family doctor is here in the same building and parking is free and easy. So I scheduled an appointment for the same day at 11:45 am (since I fasted the night before) and got there 15 minutes earlier than my appointment. Parking is not as spacious as it used to be on the roof as they share the space with CitySport and The Foundry and it appears they are building something on top of the parking lot. I was able to check in on my phone when I arrived. In a couple of minutes I get a text telling me the lab is ready for me to come in. So I walk in the main door and turn right and go all the way down where Lab Corp is located, at the end of the hall, check in with my lab orders and have a seat. In just a few minutes, they were already calling me to draw my blood and they also validated my ticket and I was out before Noon! So it was easy peasy getting it done, finally! read more

We went to the San Pablo location in Berkeley today to get a single blood test for my son. All told, we waited an hour for a procedure that took 2 minutes and required at least two instances of self-advocacy on our part. The staff was disorganized and snappish. They said they were short staffed and that our appointment also fell during lunch, which was true. But shouldn't employee lunch breaks be factored into the scheduling algorithm? I left feeling sorry for them and all the resigned looking people in the waiting area. A quick search shows that the CEO of LabCorp earns $16 million/year and the company is valued at about $17 billion. I wonder if they could find it in their budget to hire some phlebotomists and then give them a functional schedule, including lunch breaks. read more

Not a bad experience until I realized they didn't test for two lab orders I gave them in person, printed on paper. It's a very simple task to enter it into the computer. They completely forgot to enter it in. It delayed a procedure for me and impacted my future plans since my doctor didn't have results of those two lab orders. Thank you to Jessie, who I spoke to afterwards who was very sympathetic to my situation and acknowledged that this was unacceptable. I decided to go to my medical clinic for redoing the lab test because I can't trust this clinic. read more

Checked in at 8:30a with only one other patient in the office and waited until 9:45a until I gave up and left. Tried to ask about wait times after waiting an hour and was told to sit down and wait for my name to be called. It never was. Snarly staff, ploddingly slow and inefficient. Lots of chitty chatty behind the desk as the waiting room overflows. They share an office with the delightful Medical Imaging folks and really should take some pointers on customer service and efficiency. Another corporate nightmare. Check in machines that don't work. If you can get thru the sequence at all, the Check boxes dont include what I was there for so I had to pick something random. Has been saying it can't verify my insurance for years and each time yet my insurance is valid and works. Questions that don't pertain to the activity I said I was therefore. Unclear where lines are and who is standing in them versus just standing around waiting. Understaffed. People jumping the line " just a quick question," bc everything is so disorganized and confusing. Came here a few times and just gave up and left. Yep, this Labcorp has earned its current rating. Going for routine labwork today, the front desk person was cold and indifferent, and the phlebotomist lacking in people skills. When the phlebotomist tried to force my left arm completely straight, I told her to please stop forcing it, that my elbow had been broken and doesn't straighten how she was attempting to force it. Her reaction: "How was I supposed to know?" rather than, "Oh, so sorry!" Boy, if you can use another service or a different location, I recommend you do. Chanel is hands down one of the kindest people I've ever encountered. I've been getting monthly blood draws at different labs for years, and she made this usually boring task the highlight of my day! She's also excellent at her job: it was a quick and painless blood draw (not everyone can pull that off). I had to bring my baby with me, which can make the process more stressful as I navigate everything with a diaper bag and stroller in tow, but Chanel accommodated us so well and had me and my baby smiling the whole time. The wait at first takes long (there's just too many people) but the service inside was so great. My 11 year old felt really cared for and the staff were so considerate and helped her feel calm. She left saying how having her blood drawn was not as bad as she expected at all. read more

More than two weeks ago I had ONE, just ONE simple test done here. Neither my health care provider nor I have the results. The results are badly needed so treatment can be started. Results are normally available within one or, at most, two days. When I emailed Labcorp, 12 days after the test, asking when I could expect the results (email is the only way of contacting them), there was the generic, "You are important to us, blah, blah" answer. After the second email, 14 days after the test, I got an answer, "Your doctor has the preliminary result". I contacted the doctor. NO, they do NOT have any kind of result. Gaslight much, Labcorp? The people at this location are pleasant, but if you actually want to get information from your lab work--and isn't that the purpose of having blood drawn?--, don't bother going here. You pay; you don't get the service promised. You just get the run-around. read more

I hope this helps future patients so nothing comes as a surprise and everyones experience is different too. Pros: Location, parking and checking in is super easy. Staff is friendly. Cons: 1. If someone has an appointment after you and checks-in before you, they take that person in first even if you were early for your appointment. 2. They didn't have the faxed paperwork from my doctor, luckily I had carried a copy with me. They didn't ask my insurance card and no one picks up the phone so i had to call billing who asked me to call another number who asked to call back billing. lol ...and I called billing because everything else is automated and there is no patient service line. My matter is still not resolved here but I'lll be calling back next week. 2. The blood draw was very painful and I was surprised to see my arm bruised badly next day (pic attached.) 3. Phlebologist needs training and Larbcorp should look into these matters. 3. The room is small dingy and crammed up with an old chair. There was no tissue/cover like some labs have for hygiene. 4. I have a history of passing out and I always have had the option in other labs to stay flat on a bed as its important for the blood to rush to the brain. Unfortunately, because i needed to get done I suggested and opted to put my head where we keep our feet upside down on the chair...funny but not really funny either. I've noticed that every Larbcorp location has terrible reviews. I hope they up their game soon! read more

The LabCorp near me in Albany on Solano Ave is closed because of Covid so I tried this open LabCorp on San Pablo Ave. two blocks south of Ashby Ave. Wow, this is a brand new facility (Dec 2020). I went at 2 pm on a Thursday and it was not crowed. And there is roof top parking with an entrance to the building right where the lapcorp office is on the third floor. Ask for free parking validation. You enter the parking up ramp on 67th ST. Drive up to the roof top parking spaces, park and walk right into the building. Labcorp in on your right and you enter the building. The people there are super nice ... especially Sonia, ask for her! If you want a copy of the results sent to you at home just ask them. Also, I use Sutter Health for my doctor but I do my blood work at LabCorp because my health insurances Cigna, and before that United Health Care, have very good pricing with labcorp. I think I will start using this new sight even if Albany opens up again. Good Luck! Waited in lune this morning for labwork. At front of line, the woman behind the desk says I have to check in at kiosk. Waited in line for kiosk. Checked in at kiosk, sat down and watched as the people who checked in after me were called. One lady walked right up to the front desk and said she wanted to be called before everyone else because she had to get to work. Front desk lady said, "you'll be next." She had already been called, got her labwork done and left the office before I went up to see where I was in line. Front desk lady grudgingly searched me up and didn't have anything. Finally she found me and got me completely checked in. I asked if I'd need a urine sample and she said no. When i did eventually got called in phlebotomist says I'll need a urine sample. Tells me to put the sample behind a little door in the bathroom. Behind the little door there were other cups with urine I had to move to fit mine in. I will never use this Labcorp again. read more

Smooth experience. Check in machines worked, staff was friendly and efficient (Natalie helped us at the front desk), Phlebotomist (Johar) was patient with my nervous teen who was getting blood drawn. We had a terrible experience at another Labcorp location, so it was a relief to have a good experience at this place. The parking lot is under construction and the machines are down, so make sure you get your ticket validated and you won't have to pay for parking. read more

UPDATE: my results were released partially. What type of lab releases results partially after over a week of wait? I was about to miss another appointment when I decided to look online for their phone number. Called their toll free (888) 581-9738 I got in a website called "Pissed costumer" and for my surprise it was super easy to find a human being to talk to. Hit option 3 for patient and wait until you hear "remain on the line for other issues"...bang! This human being who answered my call was helpful and sent my results via email. ------------------------------- Had an appointment and nobody was at the front desk. Check-in machines don't work. After waiting 10 mins for someone to show up they passed another patient right in front of me. I usually get results within the first three hours after my visit or next day but these guys are taking a whole week to get my results back. As a result I missed two appointments because I don't have the results neither my doctors. You can't reach out to them by phone, email only. I sent an email and here is their response: "Thank you for your inquiry. Your testing is pending. Your report will release to the Labcorp Patient Portal once it is finalized. Only final reports are viewable in the Labcorp Patient Portal. Please contact us if you require any further assistance." read more

I had an order for lab work sent to Labwork. I called this location to try to make sure they received the lab order and could in fact do the lab work there. The women I spoke with refused to respond to my question and just kept telling me to go online and make an appointment. So I did. Then when I get there they tell me I need to fax them the lab order and that fax is the only way they can receive it. Fax....in 2021. So I spend 15min in the lobby figuging out how to do that from my phone. The fax finally goes through and then then tell me that they don't do this kind of labwork. Maybe they could have spent two mintues listening to my question when I first called and it would have saved everybody a lot of time. read more

I am so grateful for the phlebotomists here. My 2yo daughter needed bloodwork done. Her only previous experience was *horrible* so she was scared. Sonia was gentle and found her baby vein immediately. She and another phlebotomist helped sing Old McDonald to distract her while blood was being drawn. No tears, no crying, no screaming like last time. At the end, my daughter even giggled. She said it didn't hurt and that "it wasn't terrible." Many many thanks!! read more

Does anyone not teach the frontline staff customer service skills? On Monday, I arrived for fasting blood work and a urinalysis. Because of the latter test, I needed to drink some water so I was sent to the lobby for water from the water machine. Unfortunately, there were no cups. I asked the receptionist for a cup and she informed me she was part of Radiology not Labcorp so she couldn't give me a cup. She told me to wait for the Labcorp receptionist to return. After a few minutes of waiting, no one appeared. I was pretty "hangry" at the point in time. I went back to the only receptionist is sight who once again informed me she was "Radiology" and couldn't supply a cup for the water bottle. After much knocking on the door, someone from Labcorp came out and tried to find a cup. It took 5 minutes but eventually I got my glass of water and was able to complete my test. Couldn't "Radiology" have supplied a cup? Is it that complicated? read more
