The experience I had today really lived up to my expectations! My wax was with Molly (after I booked online without specifying anyone), who I found to be kind, professional, and engaging. It really felt like I was hanging out with a friend during my brazilian wax. Molly did an excellent job of putting me at ease and managing my pain expectations, having me inhale and exhale during the more painful portions. I'd never experienced the hard wax she uses before, and found it less painful than the traditional soft wax. The pain fades more quickly and has less of a sting as well. I made sure to book my next appointment when I checked out. Molly and I discussed waxing timelines based on my skin sensitivity level and hair type and she clearly wanted what was best and most effective for me. I highly recommend Molly's Wax Shop and Molly specifically, but from the other reviews it sounds like Arianna is just as talented! Either way you really can't go wrong.

She essentially calmed me down. Which was awesome. The wax shop is very inviting and quaint, I didn't feel like I was in chain establishment in a sense it felt like home. She was very nice. The room she does her waxing in is spacious but not intimidating. It was very clean and well organized which I loved. She explained everything that she would be doing from beginning to end our conversation was easy and helpful, she help me get through the pain .....FYI I'm a screamer lol! I figured a new location would be best. I explained my previous experience to Morgan before she began and she seemed genuinely concerned and determined to make it better. The girl who did my last Brazilian did not wax everything, leaving quite a few unwanted hairs. In fact, my husband even suggested I fire my Waxer because he said she only did half the job. Note: Yes, I did specify that I wanted a full Brazillian. This was even after I came back 5 days later for a "touch up." Anyway, Morgan was extremely thorough and took the time to tweeze any strays that were left behind. She let the wax sit a little longer before ripping it off, and I believe this made a difference. Morgan is very down-to-earth and comfortable to be around. She is very professional but does not push the products. So 20 minutes later, I'm at her place getting groomed. I was back in my car after another 20 minutes. She was fast. Which was surprising to me considering I haven't been waxed in a long time. This was my first time sugaring and it was better than I expected. Since I haven't waxed in awhile, I was pretty embarrassed. But Viktoria made me feel comfortable. This isn't a typical salon, but she keeps it clean. This is not a typical spa experience, and the location wasn't what I was expecting. Sugarland is more like going over to your girlfriend's house for some grooming help. I saw her changing her gloves when she needed to get more from the jar, so that was reassuring in terms of cleanliness. While I was changing, she already started removing the disposable liner and spraying down the table already. I was actually surprised at the smoothness of my skin afterwards. I guess I'm hooked on sugaring. It's more than I'd like to pay compared to regular waxing (eg. $50).... But I think sugaring is better for my skin. I didn't realize it was the same place as my first bad experience, so I decided to give them another chance. I got both a pedi and a mani, and neither service was acceptable. The first technician who started my pedicure cut my big toenail unevenly. When I pointed it out, he said he would "file it down" to fix it, but filing it only made the nail crooked. Already frustrated, I asked for someone else. June stepped in... while she was kind and gave a great foot massage, she also did not correct the issue. After realizing neither technician could fix the mistake, I ended up filing it myself. Then came the manicure. An older lady, who was the only person not wearing a mask, began doing my nails. I immediately noticed smudges and polish all over my skin. When I pointed it out, she grabbed the acetone and (supposedly accidentally) squirted it in my face. This was honestly the part that upset me the most. While she shaped my nails pretty decent, the polish application was sloppy, and she even scratched my skin. She tried to file my other hand, but I declined because I was already marked up from the first. After all of this, no one offered a genuine apology -- and they still had the nerve to ask for a tip. The technician showed me the total price, but I was simply asking for a breakdown so I could understand exactly what I was being charged for. Another employee, who wasn't involved in the conversation, jumped in and repeated the price breakdown in a way that felt passive-aggressive and unnecessary. I didn't feel like my question was unreasonable, so the reaction made the situation feel much bigger than it needed to be. Unfortunately, the quality of the service has also been disappointing. It has only been a week, and my "gel polish" is already chipping. For the price I paid, I expected the polish to last significantly longer. I also understand that I came on a Friday about two hours before closing, but I still feel that customers should receive the same level of professionalism and courtesy during business hours. Overall, I was disappointed because I came in with high expectations based on the reviews. I wasn't looking for anything extra, I simply expected a basic pedicure, quality gel polish, clear communication about the pricing, and a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be returning. Everybody was rude.
