When you arrive you fill out paperwork with a few questions and they take your temperature. Do not forget your mask because they are required. The salon is split into two zones and the stylists have assigned teams that they work certain days with so if there is a COVID incident the chance of spread is minimal. They are still not serving drinks but blow drys are back! Alysha is the best stylist. I've been going to her for my cuts and colors since she was a blossom. You really can't go wrong with any of the stylists here though. They do a mentor program for new stylists, receive training to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques, they love where they work and are passionate about what they do. I highly recommend Blo. I also wanted to comment about what they did during the shutdown. They gave away free hair color to existing clients, there was a suggested donation of $20 (or more) and the proceeds went to No Kid Hungry NC. How amazing is that? Scissorhands is my family's favorite with my two younger brothers regularly getting haircuts here. Andy is not as friendly as Miss Kim in Morrisville, but we recently had a nice conversation about the Korean language since I just started studying it. The cut was masterful, for sure, and followed the example I showed in a photo saved in my phone. Shampoo was included at no additional cost and I did not have to wait in my latest visit around Friday noon. I used to pay around $30 to $35 for a regular men's cut but the latest service, Andy charged me $40 (not including tips). As for the atmosphere, it's more spacious than their old location (where they shared space with other salons) but it's not as spacious as Hair News. Nonetheless, it's in a good location by High House Road, close to Cici's Pizza, a small Walmart market, and just less than 5 minutes drive away from HMart.

I was happy to have found someone so quickly who knew my hair type in so many ways. Unfortunately about 2 years later, that stylist broke my trust on personal level and I decided to find a new hair mama. Fast forward to August 2015 after several fails with new stylists--Laura came into my life. I had spoken with her a few times outside the salon and she was always extremely willing to discuss and educate me about products, techniques, etc. I knew I liked her as a person, but was nervous to be disappointed again. Then, a coworker walked in with a seriously fresh cut and color, thanks to Laura. I booked an appointment and haven't looked back since. When I come for appointments with Laura, we discuss photos I have sent her and what is required to achieve them for my hair type. I have tons of fine strands with a slight hint of body, on a good day. Sometimes we go for it, and other times we decide it's not a good option for my lifestyle and maintenance routine. My **FAVORITE** thing about having Laura as my stylist is her absolute realness with me, and genuine desire to make sure I am happy with my outcome. That said, I got adventurous and we worked with a new color last year which a week later I decided was not for me. I have never felt comfortable asking a stylist to fix anything before. I was able to message Laura because she is the kind of person who wants to do right by her clients. (Side note: I have had several color treatments since then and all to my complete satisfaction.) Most recently I have let Laura start tinting my brows for me, and I am ADDICTED to it. I tint about every three weeks and she always works me into her schedule, sometimes while processing color on other faithful clients. I could go on but am fully aware of how ridiculous this review has become. Laura is awesome on so many levels of cosmetology and often times my underpaid psychologist. My lady love here is fierce and I am not ashamed to admit it! If you want to work with someone who consistently seeks to build her knowledge and is passionate about her craft, book with Laura.
