One word amazing, the price point is spot on, I couldn't ask for a better stay. Eva and Ken were just the best. The took great care of us and our needs, Im suprised at the 1 star review. It shouldn't be up since the person who had the experience was not the person to review the place. Things can get lost in translation, or misinterpreted very easily. My experience was was just amazing we also booked every quarter, the breakfast was delicious as well.

Spent our anniversary night here and it was amazing!! The service was outstanding. Everyone was so helpful and nice. Breakfast was very delicious as well. And the views are spectacular!! Pool and hot tub were also very well kept and beautiful.

Eva was extremely kind and Sean was very polite. The views were breathtaking. It's a nice and relaxing place to stay, however the room we stayed in (Tuscany) needed a true deep cleaning. The other rooms on the top floor seemed much cleaner/nicer. We were the only ones staying in the house and at night it seemed like some little creatures were scurrying around upstairs. We also had a night with a horrific storm and had a tiny leak over our bed. The place needs some serious tlc, but Eva was nothing but good to us. She truly went above and beyond. I'd recommend this place, just maybe not the Tuscany room.

The area it is in is gorgeous and was not expecting to feel like I was in a different world. Appetizers that were supplied for the wedding were great, but I thought the main meal was kind of lacking and kind of inconsistent. I understand it's hard to cater for that many guests though. Most staff were pleasant and welcoming but had a couple of experiences where we felt very rushed and herded around the property. Despite my concerns this is definitely a special place to get married and a gem on this side of Austin! Lalala, Bob B.

The hospitality is very nice and friendly. The cafe uses high quality ingredients and the food is really delicious. We were there on a Thursday' night which was nice for the half priced bottles of wine all day. Well crafted cocktails are also available too. For food we dined on: Cold pressed watermelon - cold dense watermelon packed with sweet flavor contrasted against savory cheese and nuts. Really liked this dish. Little gem salad - simple but perfectly balanced flavors. Fresh. Crisp. Refreshing. Heirloom tomatoes - ripe tomatoes simply dressed with olive oil and salt. Crab cakes - these were tasty with a great sauce and pepitas. Steak - perfectly cooked to temp and served with grilled tomatoes. We were hoping for the duck confit which I've heard is incredible but they were old out for the day. They are open for lunch as well and brunch on the weekends (that menu looks good!). If you're looking for a relaxing Bed & Breakfast in the Texas Hill…read moreCountry with super hospitality, a pool, and beautiful lake views, Justin & Jean Robinson's "Lakehouse Bed and Breakfast at Canyon Lake", managed by Justin as "operator and breakfast chef" is the place to go ! We stayed there from Thursday April 23rd - Sunday April 26th 2026. It was like living in an Italian Villa and you would be hard pressed to find a more gracious host and chef than Justin anywhere ! He's been doing this for over twenty years ! We arrived at the Lakehouse around 3:00 pm and were immediately welcomed by Justin who carried our bags to our upstairs Medici Room and gave us a tour of the house. Justin also provided us with excellent tips on things to see and do in the area, as well as suggestions for restaurants for lunches and dinners. Thursday evening, we ate dinner on the outside patio of Gennaro's Trattoria where we enjoyed their Authentic Italian Kitchen. Friday morning, we enjoyed a delicious omelet breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room overlooking Canyon Lake and great conversation with other guests. Following breakfast, we took a leisurely drive down River Road to the quaint town of Gruene (that's pronounced "Green"). There, we had lunch at the Gruene River Grill, followed by a relaxing stroll through the many antique and boutique shops in Gruene, and a visit to Gruene Hall, Texas' Oldest Dance Hall. We then returned to Canyon Lake and enjoyed some merlot wine and cheese and crackers (which we had brought with us) on the Lakehouse's covered outdoor patio overlooking Canyon Lake. We had dinner at Canyon Lake's Wildflour Artisan Bakery & Grill which offers a full menu. On Saturday morning, we enjoyed a delicious Belgian waffle breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. Following breakfast, we drove to the town of Blanco and visited Arnosky's Flower Farm. After walking around the beautiful flower fields, we bought some beverages and snacks inside Arnosky's barn and sat in the chairs on the barn's covered back porch patio overlooking the flower fields, humming bee feeders, and bird feeders. You could sit there a long time as the scene is ever changing. From Arnosky's, we drove to Tillman's Cabin Resort in Blanco and ate lunch at the Rio Blanco Café overlooking the Blanco river. After lunch, we drove to the original 1885 Blanco Court House in downtown Blanco where we took a leisurely self-guided tour of the courthouse. We also visited Blanco's many antique and boutique shops. Saturday evening, we attended the 4 pm mass at Canyon Lake's St. Thomas The Apostle Church. At the end of mass, we witnessed one of their congregants step up to the lectern with the pastor's approval, talk about what the bible says about a wife, ask the lady in the front row next to us to step forward, and then bent down on one knee and asked her to marry him in front of the entire church congregation, and she said "YES" and they kissed. What a beautiful proposal ! Following mass, we had dinner on the outside patio of Canyon Lake's Elio's Osteria e Pizzeria. On the evening drive back to the Lakehouse, we saw lots of white tail deer in the neighborhood. On Sunday morning, we enjoyed a delicious scone and quiche breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. We again enjoyed conversing with the other guests as we had every day, and then we packed and headed home. Sorry for the length of this review but my wife and I thought readers might enjoy hearing about what one can do from The Lakehouse Bed and Breakfast at Canyon Lake. The Lakehouse is centrally located in the Texas Hill Country and opens this area up to you like a box of chocolates!

The private on-property pool was the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. I agree with all the previous visitors who raved about Justin's fantastic breakfasts! Day 1 included orange scones and a delicious zucchini fritatta and roasted potatoes - incredible. Day 2, by special request, included strawberries Romanov and eggs benedict with sausage. Thank you, Justin, for the wonderful food and conversation. We highly recommend this gem and can't wait to visit again soon!

Either that or the place used to be a lot nicer and better run than it is currently (which is i think the case). Judging by the beautiful pictures on the website vs what was the present day reality, I I think its the later. The house is nice, spacious, and comfortable. But it's not as nice as what the pictures make you believe. The rooms are cheaply outfitted and the decor is cheesy. The whole set up of the B&B is a bit weird though. Each room has a keyed entry with a private bathroom, balcony, a coffee pot, and mini fridge. Guest pay by the room they stay in. There is a huge common living room, kitchen, and breakfast nook downstairs on the bottom two levels. The top floor has to use an exterior spiral staircase to get back into the main living area part of the house. Luckily my family rented every room in the place for a holiday get together, so we thought we should have privacy and not be forced to hang out in the common areas with other guests we did not know. Well...this was partially true..... read on. So when we first get there, we see the sign for the B&B on the side of the major road and the house is WAY up on this huge hill and has a tiny parking lot that can fit two cars that was full. We park on the site of the road and climb up the steep and very ricketty old stairs to the back porch of the house, and then Esmerelda comes out and tells us we have to go around to the other side of the house, and gives us some directions that were partially coherent. We drive around, and find the other side of the house has parking at the entrance level, albeit very limited and cramped parking on the side of a narrow driveway. Esmerelda is waiting at the doorway and introduces herself and we asked for the tour. She walks us from room to room, not saying much, and was very unwelcoming. She's simply open the doors to each room, anounce the name (which is a color) and then go to the next room. We asked her some questions, and she didn't understand us because it seems that her english is not very good. When we got back to the living and kitchen floors, I asked what was behind a couple doors and was told "NO NO NO" so I shut them quickly and left that alone. Then, we started unloading our food into the large built in stainless steel fridge, and Esmerlda came over and kinda mumbled something as she hurried to grab up food that was in the fridge and take somewhere else. We were under the impression that there would be some food stocked in the house. The pantry area was well stocked with all sorts of dry food, and even liquor....but again we were told NO NO NO. The food that was for us, was in a TEENY TINY mini fridge smaller than even in a dorm room. It included bottled water, yogurt, a couple peices of fruit, and orange juice. So what was all the food in the fridge and freezer and pantry for? The fridge has all sorts of weird stuff in there...including fish marinating in an open bowl of juice. Yuck! And the freezer was stuffed to the brim with frozen foods, mostly meat I think. So, we go sit on the back porch to enjoy the nice weather and notice there is a jacuzzi being filled with water from a garden hose. Not sure why, since it is november and no one brought our swim suits and Austin is in a major water rationing drought. If they had asked, we would have told them NO please dont waste the water. The view off the back of the house was listed as a lake view...and in years where the lake was full, this would be true, as there was a dried up boat ramp at the base of the house. But, as is, we could NOT EVEN SEE THE LAKE. I'm talking at least a mile away or more. Lake Travis was depressingly low. So there is this old weather tattered bar outside that looks like it came from some closed down marina night club with the words "The Blue Fairy on the side" and also these outdoor bathrooms that resembled those at a public pool. Basically a shed made of corrugated steel with no lights inside. Nice. We notice this is the only communal bathroom in the whole house. So unless you want to go upstairs to your room, if you want to pee while in the living area, you have to go outside. Really nice. As we are commenting on all these unexpected and not pleasant surprises out comes this man from no where, with no introduction, no greetings, nothing. He is just walking around. He is probably at least 6'5" and is built like a line backer, is african american, and was wearing athletic clothes with no affiliation to the B&B (esmerelda wore a shirt with the B&B name on it). He had this perma scowl on his face and said not a word to us, but would appear throughout the trip at various points and just walk out...even in sweat pants...make himself comfortable at the other end of the porch, or in the living area, and then leave. We still dont know if he worked there, or was just a crasher?

Turning your car around on the edge of a cliff is an interesting task. There is NO LAKE. therefore no lake views, no lake activities. Nobody greets you when you get here. The lady we found wandering around downstairs doesn't speak English but we did manage to clarify that breakfast was from 7-9 am. Which it was not. My husband and I are early risers. Nothing was going downstairs at 7 am. No coffee, no pastries. Dark cold kitchen. The room was ok, slightly dated. Stains on carpet, crack in tub, tiny bed. We were in the blue room. I have never stated at a b&b before and if this is any indication how this works I never would again. The Wi-Fi although free does not work. We tried watching a movie in bed on the iPad, no deal. The phone service is limited. They have a collection of old books to read. Nobody answers the phone numbers given for this place. In the middle of the night we were woken to all the noise from upstairs and an odd dripping noise. Water leaking from the upstairs into our place. We called the number to let them know. Of course no answer and no response. We paid $179 for this place through some expedia deal. Save your money. Stay at the red roof inn for $51.

First the location was ideal, right on South Congress and the best part is that the parking is free! I was a little concerned about noise coming from the clubs that are literally steps away, but it was not an issue the weekend I was there. Second, the property is more like an Airbnb in that there's no front desk. You get the access code via email prior to your arrival. However, that is not to say that there's no staff. I had some questions and was easily able to talk/text to someone immediately. We were in the Orange room which was comfortable and well-designed for two people. Plenty of storage space in the main room and in the bathroom. I always get nervous when I see the wall mounted AC unit, but this one worked great! Our room was nice and cold and the unit was very quiet. My only negative point of our entire stay is that the water pressure in the bathroom is a bit weak and the hot water from the sink tap takes a very long time to warm up. We enjoyed the common room with the Jura coffee maker. There is also filtered water and other beverages available at no charge. I'd like to add that the staff is incredibly friendly and kind. I look forward to staying here again soon!

Every detail of this place is absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I were married here in April 2024 and we seriously talk about this venue and all of its magic at least once a week since then. We wanted to have a small intimate gathering that had a very organic look. In the spring, this place really comes to life, the birds, the butterflies, the way the light shines through the windows in La Casa De Joy, everything felt like a fairytale. The venue is tucked away in a sweet lakeside neighborhood as well so the drive there in the spring is country roads lined with wildflowers and bluebonnets which was an added plus. We rented the entire venue and had some guests stay in the other houses on the property while we stayed in La Casa De Joy and everyone absolutely loved it. We heard nothing but positive things from every guest. Such a unique venue. Not to mention, Travis, the property manager was an absolute delight to work with. Really so so kind and understanding of our wants and needs and was truly there to answer any questions we had. We will definitely be coming back to relive our wedding day each year with a stay at La Casa De Joy. Truly such a gem of an experience.
