Too Good to Go surprise bag
Sydney J.

I happened to see that La Victoria was on Too Good to Go while I was in SF, so I decided to order a $5.99 surprise bag. Service was friendly and quick for getting the bag. They gave me a huge quantity of different breads (pan dulce) in varying levels of sweetness, including some conchas. The bread was decent, not the tastiest or most remarkable that I've had and tended to be more on the dry or crumbly side and some were quite dense. However, I'll still give them a 4 star because of the generous amount of bread for the price.

Good price. We got three different types. Mexican pastry style Conchas. Two were very dry and stale. Taste was not bad but not good. I have had so much better ones elsewhere. Also it didn't necessarily look clean. No parking lot. Its street parking and the area is a-bit scary. Service was pretty nice though. Probably wont be back.

Good pan dulce and reasonably priced. Their chocolate chip polverones are very good and if you are ok with day-old's they often have bags for a couple dollars. Good with a dunk in milk or coffee!

Great service and fresh pastries. Nice selection of goodies at low prices. Two ladies serving with a smile. I will be back next time I am in town.

I was truly surprised to see this panaderia reopen several blocks away from its original location because that closure felt so, well, final. In what looks like a smaller space, it's still on 24th but at a more trafficked spot at Capp. They're still serving all shapes and sizes of pan dulce but now they're in individual containers on a long counter. Although I could've brought a wheelbarrow, I settled for a thick slice of pound cake (panque), and believe me, it didn't disappoint (photo: https://bit.ly/3u9jhVk). Mexican baked goods are never as sweet as they look, and that's what I find attractive about them. I'm sure there's a dark story behind the real estate roundelay (Google it yourself), but I'm just glad to see them back. BAKED GOODS - 4 stars...nice, moist pound cake and not overly sweet AMBIANCE - 4 stars...still has a folksy vibe, prepare to take it to go SERVICE - 4 stars...still sunny TOTAL - 4 stars...welcome back, La Victoria RELATED - Exploring the Mission? Great corner bakery for pan dulce. Open when many others are closed. Try a chocolate concha!

got a too good to go bag and it was such great value! got to try many different mexican pastries for the first time. some were a bit dry and dense for me, but it might just be my personal preference.

Best conchas in San Francisco. They are my husband's favorite and this Panderia make the best ones in the entire city.

Adequate Mexican breads and pastries, but there are better (though cash-only ones) on 24th closer to Potrero.

Due to scheduling, I wasn't able to arrive until an hour before closing on a Friday which meant many of the items were sold out. When I arrived, there was a line so I had my buddy drop me off while he found parking. In retrospect, I should have had him drive around the block a few times as the line moved fast and there wasn't much to choose from. Since we both didn't know how quick the transaction would be, he figured out the metered parking, which was a feat in and of itself, and when he was walking over to the bakery, I was done with pastries in hand. Only one customer is allowed in the narrow shop at a time while the other customers queue up waiting to be signaled to step forward. As for seating, there is none so no one hangs around. Of the croissants remaining, I ordered all of them: Chocolate Almond Croissant - full of almond paste and chocolate, you could share this one, but why? This was my favorite. Almond Croissant - very good Kouign-amann - good sized While you can't enjoy the warm croissants with coffee at the shop, my buddy and I tucked in as soon as we got into the car. Good thing we carry a vacuum to clean up all the crumbs.

It took about 20 minutes to get to the front, which wasn't too bad. We had the potato mushroom, caramel apple, pistachio and plain croissants. The mushroom potato was one of the best savory croissants we have ever had. The Apple croissant tasted like apple pie. There is no seating in the bakery. Hoping their cake shop eventually finds the right location and wish them continued success in the future.

I hadn't had a traditional one yet this year, so that was a plus for me. Normally I'm not crazy about the nut moon cakes, but this one was terrific! It was the best moon cake I've had in a while - regular lotus seed with yolk and nuts. The lady at the bakery reminded me of an "auntie" and she was super friendly! Even though today was moon cake, I took a chance and asked if she had any wife cake (Low Po Behng). Unfortunately she didn't, but we had a nice little conversation in Cantonese and it brought me back to childhood and Chinatown in L.A. back in the day. Some people might not like that it's closed (I think that's when she runs out or isn't baking that day) but that's just how it goes. It's nothing personal if someone drives a long way and it's closed. It sounds like sometimes the lines can be long (There was no line for us today - score!) but it's everyone's choice if they're willing to wait or not. It's a little place and you order through the door. To me, that just adds to the quirky adventure of it all. Next time I hope she has Low Po Behng!

If you have a chance to meet "auntie", consider yourself special. Enjoyed our time with a little chit chat - since we were fortunate that it wasn't busy yet. I know some may be upset that it wasn't opened when they showed up - but that's kind of what makes it special - when you do get there in the right day and time. So be warned about the randomness of it all and consider yourself lucky if get a treat.

(i sound like an american health influencer...oh wait i am american). anyway they're a bit too sweet but the frangipane tastes good. the plain one is boring in a bad way. pain suisse is okay too. it's ironic that their best croissants are the day-old ones since they are twice baked with frangipane pumpkin bread was pretty good! again a bit too sweet but spice and pumpkin came in strong like pow pow. bostock was good too - my first time. again a twice baked pastry except it's brioche and the syrup is passionfruit. the fruit flavor was slight but i wish it was stronger. super interesting to eat though i also wish that the heat and freshness of the pastries didn't vary so wildly. some days they're cold as frozen peas and other days they're nice and crispy and warm and fluffy and fireplace-y and hot-mug-y. sorry i have a lot of wishes. unfortunately big B may not be able to satisfy them. i wish i can go back to try the black sesame one but i'm too broke and i have an astronomically low attention span so i can't wait in line
