The salmon has that classic smoked salmon flavor although it's not, and the onion soup had enough cheese in it to satisfy any cheese aficionado. We then proceeded to order the 3-course dinner for only 29 euros each. The escargot were cooked perfectly, and I loved sopping up the leftover butter sauce with the provided crusty bread. Both of us also ordered the grilled lamb chops with herbs which were flavorful and tender. As an unexpected bonus, this dish also came with a small salad and crispy french fries. Lastly, we completed the meal with a huge creme brulee and caramel tarte tartin. Although the desserts tasted amazing, we were stuffed by this point and sadly unable to finish them. Talk about an amazing way to cap off our TMB hike though. Would definitely recommend this place to celebrate or start off any trip with a bang!

Everyone in our party selected the 'daily special' options including parsnip soup, and herring salad as 1st course, 2nd course options included iberico pork over mashed potatoe with drzzled glaze, and fillet durade over mashed parsnip. Lastly, everyone selected the carousel dessert buffet rather than the formage cart. Both options had soooo many delicious items. From our perspective, standouts included passion fruit torte, a dense chocolate cake with vanilla sauce. An excellent meal, great service, and top-notch ambiance. My highest recommendation.

Why so you ask? ....so having booked a tour taking me from Geneva to the Chamonix valley there was an option to have a the lunch included for an extra 20 euros which made sense being that what we ended up having would have cost around 50 euros. I wish i wrote these reviews sooner so i could explain the starter and desert but all i can say is that they were great. The mains is the dish i do remember, there were two choices and i went for the grilled salmon and it had to be possibly the best grilled salmon i have ever had in my life. Like so delicious i even took a bite out of my friends when she was not looking. The service was superb with it not being so busy we had an attentive waiter at all times. Location is at the foot of the mountains, and right in Chamonix town but maybe a bit out of the way now i am back in England :(

We returned 3 times in the afternoon, chilling on their comfortable terrace. Be aware; the part where the sun beds / lounge chairs are located, is self service zone :s However if you are lucky you'll have the same waiter as us, who was working hard and willing to fulfill our thirsty needs ;) Also a great DJ was playing super cool beats through speakers placed late afternoon-ish ;) So if you are at Avoriaz, definitely go to this stylish place!!!

More than that: while paying using credit card, I received messages from my bank indicating I was possibly charged twice. As the luck would have it, after completing the TMB loop, we happened to walk past this restaurant and I remembered. So I checked with the staff and the owner Ms Laure Muller was very responsive. She took my email and phone number. Very next day she followed up with her accountant and emailed me confirming I wasn't charged twice. It was really gracious of her to do this. Really appreciate their customer service. I of course, strongly recommend this.

Everyone speaks english, and the chef spent a year in Colorado back in the 90s so we got to chat with him about that. We tried many dishes, but kept coming back for the fondue special. It starts with a lovely, simple salad, then the fondue, then a crepe for dessert. So, so good. Make sure to get reservations, as they're full every night and constantly turning walk-ins away.
