Upon arrival to my appointment I immediately noticed how nice and clean her studio was. She did a skin evaluation on my face and curated a facial regimen specifically for me and my problem areas. I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this salon. During my pedicure, there was a…read morecockroach in the water while my feet were soaking. I immediately brought it to the technician's attention, and she removed it with her gloves--but then continued working on my feet with the same gloves, without washing hands or changing them. She threw the cockroach away in the trash and another guy ran to empty out the trash, surely before I took a photo or video. There was no apology, no effort to restart the service with proper sanitation, and the situation was not handled professionally. This raised serious hygiene concerns for me. I contacted my doctor and now I am advised to keep an eye on my feet -look for redness, swelling, cuts, or signs of infection over the next few days. I'm keeping record of this whole situation with my Dr in case I need move forward with a more serious and medical complaint. In addition, I did not receive the full service I paid for (the massage was skipped), and my preferences were not respected during the appointment. It also felt like they rushed to get me out of there as quickly as possible. Despite all of this, I was still charged full price. I attempted to address this directly with the guy at the front desk "in charge" but he pretended that he didn't know what had happened even tho I saw the girl who was working on my toes go to him a few times and chatted with him. His only response to me was "I have to call pest control". If it is not properly resolved -with a full refund, I will be filing a formal complaint with the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology regarding the sanitation practices I experienced. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this salon. -----UPDATE----- Thank you for your response. However, I'm disappointed that no one has contacted me directly to address this situation. Given the seriousness of the sanitation concerns I experienced, along with being charged full price for an incomplete service, I am requesting a full refund and direct follow-up from management. A general statement about reviewing this "internally" does not resolve the issue or address the impact of what occurred. Please contact me within 3 business days to resolve this matter. If I do not hear back, I will be proceeding with filing a formal legal complaint, complaint with the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and updating my review to reflect the lack of resolution. I would prefer to resolve this directly and give your business the opportunity to make this right.
