The food here is excellent! The Pupusas are the best in valley I highly recommend this place and do stop by when you can. It's worth it.

This place was a great surprise. We usually have to go to LA to get good Salvadorean food but decided to give this place a try. I have to say, the food is authentically great. They don't have the loud music playing like other Salvadorean restaurants, which is nice. But most important, the food is fantastic. I will be coming back! read more

This place has some of the best pupusas in the valley second to my mother in laws of course haha. I used to hate pupusas before I married my husband who is salvadorian. I never had good ones made well and made me sick twice so that's what made me hate them but my opinion has been restored and that's partly thanks to this place! Yes it's true the older woman who owns it can be a tad moody but what older woman isn't ? lol for the most part she's nice and still delivers good service. I don't mind only because her food is great. It doesn't matter what pupusa you order, they are great. Personally my favorite is the revuletas but the loroco and the bean and cheese are just as good. Give this a place and you won't regret it. Very bad customer service, called to order the lady on the phone ask if I was going to pick up because the last they I didn't! Seriously you know me? First time in the area I call because they have a sign with the phone to place your order. I had to wait over 20 minutes. Also if you are eating on the go don't bother getting from here, food is not on container to eat on the go. Definitely not stop here ever again. read more

The BEST pupusas in The Valley, period. Say what you will of the two elderly Salvadorian women who run this place, they may be old school and maybe a tad bit grumpy, but their plátano frito and pupusa revuelta will make you forget all about that small detail, real quick. All of their food and sides, such as their curtido and salsa comes in ample portions, and all of their food is made to order fresh, so the wait can be a little on the longer side, but this is not a problem at all if you call ahead of time. Their handmade, traditional salvadorian tortillas are extra thick, and delicious, so is the side of frijoles refritos and crema salvadoreña that accompanies them. This has literally become my spot for a Saturday or Sunday when I want to enjoy fresh, home made, salvadorian food. read more

Horrible service. Tried this place years ago but today I went in to have breakfast with my family and the older lady was so rude. Phone orders kept coming in and to each customer who called she gave attitude. We went up to order a chicken sandwich and she said they didn't have any with attitude. Not coming back to this place! The pupsas are amazing. The service is quite possibly the worst I've ever experienced. They don't have the muscles required to smile. They're more than happy to let you stand at the counter indefinitely without acknowledging you. They have things on the menu then look at you like you're crazy when you try to order it. All the negative comments in other reviews are true: 1. The head boss lady is moody, sometimes she's been sweet as pie, other times abrasive ‍...she's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get 2. The food takes time to prepare and they have few employees so service is slow. You're much better off calling in your order ahead of time and taking out to enjoy at home 3. They only accept cash and coming prepared with smaller bills and/or exact change is best. HOWEVER, the pupusas are AMAZING!!! The quality and great flavor has remained consistent over the past 5 years that we've been ordering from this place! They are the best pupusas in town, not greasy at all, adequately filled with the stuffing of your choice cheese/beans/ground pork and you get generous portions of their fresh and delicious curtido and red sauce. We typically order when we have family visiting and everyone is always raving about how tasty the food is...mind you, my family is Salvadorian so we know our pupusas! My husband wasn't a fan of pupusas, he's not Salvadorian, but this place converted him because they're not greasy. Now he just adds chicken to his plate of 2 pupusas revueltas (combination of cheese, beans and pork) to make his perfect meal because he prefers a lot of protein. Can't forget to mention the plátanos fritos (fried plantains)...again, ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Nice thick slices, perfectly browned on the outside and cooked through for a soft and naturally sweet center! Omg I want some now! Before I go into my review, I want to say that the pupusas were delicious. Okay, so first of all, the lady I placed my order with was kind of rude. Ordered only 2 pupusas and it took them over a half hour to bring them out to me. I'm pretty sure they forgot I was there even though I had been sitting in the dining area for quite some time. Didn't offer any water or ask if I wanted to order anything to drink. They served 2 different groups who I'm 99% positive came in after me. Like I mentioned, pupusas were delicious, but still not coming back, which makes me sad because I was so excited to try this place because I thought it definitely was about to become my new pupusa place. I came here after being told they served the best pupusas, a traditional Salvadorian dish. It's a really small restaurant with limited seating. The place only has 3 employees who are busy in the kitchen making orders as soon as they are placed. Take my advice and call in your order before you get there. I dined in and the wait was long. I knew this from the beginning but it was too long if you ask me. Like I said before there are only 3 employees and no servers. You order at the kitchen and pick up your food when it's done. The pupusas were good. Fresh of the grill top and piping hot. You add your own traditional condiments which include coleslaw and a spicy tomato sauce. The pupusas weren't greasy whatsoever which is typical of this dish, so you can eat 3 like myself and not feel stuffed. I got the mixed version which combines cheese, beans, and pork skin. So good!The food was great but I felt the service was too slow but when it comes to good home cooking, it's hard to rush it so I will give them a pass. read more

The best Salvadorian food outside of El Salvador. The pupusas de chicharon with cheese are out this world. The pineapple beverage with extra ice is really good on a hot Southern California day. They make the best pupusas in The Valley. I recommend trying the Revueltas and the Queso con Loroco pupusas. The sopa de gallina is also really good here. Ask for the gallina outside the soup and you will be the amazed at the flavor the chicken has. The fry they put on is absolutely delicious. Would recommend and eat here again. read more

Although the food is pretty good...the customer service is the worst! The lady is sooooooo rude!!! I've never seen or experienced anything like this at a restaurant!! We asked nicely if she can clean the table and she just THREW the towel On the table and walked away. This review is based on the food i ordered for pick up only. This was my first time trying this pupuseria out. I ordered pupusas revueltas which were ok. A little salty for my taste and not enough stuffing inside. I also ordered platanos fritos with beans and cream. The platanos were pretty good but the beans felt like they were over cooked. The place is fairly clean and the food is good. But the customer service is very poor. An employee there treated us unfairly and we observed that it wasn't just to us but to other races and genders. She did favor a certain group. We felt uncomfortable with the apprehensive attitude that we were given when we asked to use a table. I'm not el salvadorian nor do I speak Spanish or of latin decent...but I wanted some friends to taste Papusa's. never been here so I assumed they had chicken but they didn't and instantly she was like 'read the board' and walked away...lol. She wasnt helpful at all...maybe she doesn't care for return customers because I'm waiting for my order now, and even if they taste really good I probably won't be back just because of the service and there will always be other places with good papusas to me since I can't tell the difference maybe lol. i just had to go to the closest place that sold papusas!
