Everyone on the at the party wanted to know who was the cater and we were happy to recommend LaTaquiza. You can't beat their $2 taco Wednesdays, it has to be the best deal in Winnetka. Salsa is help yourself out of the cooler (verde es muy bueno) and they have Negra Modelo tall boys. Eat inside, eat outside, or take to go, the choice is yours. read more

Pretty disappointed in the food here. The rice and flautas were flavorless and the chicken was hard as a rock. I couldn't cut through mine with my fork. Would recommend steering clear of them. The salsa was not good either. read more

Just so happened to be in the area and wanted good Mexican. Do not pass this place up! I tried the tacos. Birria tacos, chips, salsa and guacamole and no I did not come close to eating it all lol. Everything was soo good! I highly recommend it read more

La Taquiza Express opened last week, and today was a Grand Opening. It's good to see a restaurant in this recently vacated space, although it is small. It's more like a takeout place as there are only a few seats against the windows. I am not familiar with the other 3 locations (Northbrook, Winnetka, Glenview). I ordered the quesabirria, which was two cheesy, crisp tortillas folded in half and stuffed with beef brisket with a side of consommé. The beef was tender and juicy, the broth flavorful and just a little spicy (a little oily too). The elote I ordered was just ok. It was a generous portion but not very cheesy or spicy. This is a warm and friendly joint, although small, and I'd like to come back for brunch to try chilaquiles or other tacos. read more

I'm gonna keep it straight to the point. Stumbled across this during a quick google search. Didn't look at any reviews, just went in blind and came out full and satisfied. Reasonable prices, staff was friendly and welcoming and most importantly the food flavorful and fresh. Highly recommend trying this place. read more

La Taquiza - Tacos - Mexican Near Me - Highland Park, Illinois

We ordered a burrito and nachos. The burrito was tasteless without the sauce I had at home to add to it. I ordered nachos with chicken and nacho cheese. There was no cheese at all. The chicken was sliced like you would have in a chicken sandwich, not in nachos. The entire meal was tasteless and I am sorry I trusted an unknown place. Iwould have attached photos but I could not have thrown it out fasst enough. Do not go there. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I knew there was going to be a problem when the salsa was merely an overly spiced watered down salsa roja with raw onions in it. Nothing fresh, or vibrant. The guacamole tasted like a premixed tub of " avocado puree" with citric acid to stop it turning brown. Then the asada tacos and rice. The rice tasted like it was cooked 4 days ago. Zero seasoning, no flavor at all. The tacos "looked" great. The meat tasted off. Really off. I ate none of it. My family will not be coming here. Ever again. There's plenty of other taco places in the area that are much better. I'm so incredibly disappointed. The best part of my meal was my Diet Coke. How they have 4 locations I don't know. The woman working the counter was very nice. $30.00 for nothing. read more

New Mexican food place in Highland Park (opened in 2024) specializing in tacos. It's really small with only 4 seats or so, but it makes it up in energetic atmosphere. Service is extremely friendly and they were patient answering my questions, such as what is a bomba taco (similar to Al Pastor, it has pineapple and chorizo). For my first visit, I only had 2 tacos, bomba and beef barbacoa. The wait was not short which I take as a good sign of freshness. The tacos were smaller than I anticipated but oh so delicious! Their spice level was just the right amount for me. On my next visit I will have to try the enchiladas. read more

Came for lunch and they've only been open for 2 weeks. The staff is genuinely friendly and attentive both in greeting and at the end of the meal. I tried the Hot Cheetos burrito and it was just the perfect meal size. It was filled to the brim with steak and yes, hot Cheetos! There was a decent size menu and so much I wanted to try. read more

This is a great local spot with yummy food and great service. They even deliver for our cold nights.

Yummy! I love La Taquiza, I usually go for a fajita burrito or the fajita bowl! It's nice that they have veggie options when I am feeling more of a lighter meal on my stomach. The veggie meals are very filling. They also have of course many different types of meat options. I tried the chicken burrito for the first time the other day and it was so delicious, I got guac added. It's in a convenient location, just around the corner from Port Clinton Square. The food is always super fast, even when they're a bit busier. I enjoy to eat my food inside, they have great tasting salsas and a cute interior. read more

Incredible flavors. The staff is so kind. Their $2 taco Tuesday is the best value on the north shore.

Recently went back had a great experience highly recommend great tacos very friendly owners check it out!

Love this small new Mexican joint in Highland Park! Went for taco Tuesday, and really enjoyed trying a variety of their tacos and salsas. Their barbacoa was my favorite! They have a great taco Tuesday deal for $2 each. Was glad to see so many customers both ordering takeout and dining in. A great option for a quick and delicious meal! read more

Food is really good, lots of vegetarian options. Great take out place. They also have delicious dessert if you care to indulge.

Burrito bowl was a very very small portion! Seemed more like leftovers... tacos are expensive and rather small portions. The protein fillings were just ok, lacked any flavor or kick... hope business does well, however I will be hesitant to go back.. read more

Great service and the food was amazing as well as the horchata. Your employee Esbeidy was very helpful and great with customer service! Overall it is a great place to go eat and I recommend heavily to people who are in the city of highland park read more

Amiable owners who take pride in presentation since the place is sparkling clean and the owners are super friendly while they remain present at this family-run location, which is the newest of (I think) four locations around the north shore communities. Taco Tuesday has been a hit in HP since it opened. It will likely grow in popularity if they focus on heavily marketing the location and many locally-focused social media campaigns on Facebook groups. The tacos are legit handheld, appropriately sized street tacos, which are accurate to the origins in Mexico. Delicious pastor and the Bomba taco is a nice variation of the pastor with the chunks of pineapple. The Asada (skirt steak) was perfect, and the chicken burrito was stuffed with delicious shredded chicken, and the rest of the ingredients were well portioned. The horchata is excellent, and we look forward to trying the tres letche cake. This place is well-priced, which is fantastic! Overall, this place is a win for HP! Let's keep it thriving by supporting it regularly. The typical adult guy could quickly devour 4-5 of these tacos; I recommend spreading out your choices since they are all a safe bet regarding taste and price. read more

Great food. Excellent service and many vegetarian options. Small counter for dining in.
