Awesome food - and I'll be back Family run, Grandma's cooking in the kitchen (ummm ..yes please I'll eat whatever you make!!!). Good quality and value. We arrived after going to Highwood Pumpkin fest, about an hour before close. Had 11 of us. Had the torta Arabe - which is from Puebla region, never had it before and I'll definitely be having it some more going fwd. The beans were very flavorful, and came with some avocado, a really complete sandwich. My family also had the chicharron dinner, I thought it would have some meat in it but it's really just the pork skin in the most splendid salsa. Rice and beans super yummy. I want to try the entire menu and I'll definitely be back for more. Open for 5 years.

Love this place! Very friendly owner and amazing food. The mole is awesome, I usually get some to pour over a steak burrito. Only 20$

We came in for a weekend dinner about 30mins before closing. The staff was friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious, like cooked by the abuelas of the home. The menu has a wide range of items to chose from. We ordered a couple horchatas to drink- those were just right. And I also tried the chilaquiles with an added cecina. The food was spot on as if it was home-cooked. The menu is quite vast so it would be nice to come back and try more things. The portions are good and the pricing is decent as well.

Today I headed to Lake Bluff to participate in the Yelp Gives Back event at Bernie's Books and needed a place to grab something to eat beforehand, and Doña Paty's was pretty close by. I'm so glad I popped in for a late lunch, it was great. They have about 10 tables total, so it's pretty small, but of course you can do carry out (someone arrived at the same time as me and chose this option). It also looks like they place a couple of tables outside in al fresco weather. The chips and salsa are great. I may be wrong but it looks like they make the chips in house but I could be wrong. More importantly they have a green salsa that is delicious, with a good spice level that builds nicely. I almost asked them if I could buy some of it to take home with me--I talked myself out of doing so twice, only because I didn't have tortilla chips at home, then probably would have forgotten to get some, it would have been a whole thing. Just know that the salsa is good and I wanted more! I decided to go with fajitas instead of chilaquiles because it's been a very long time since I've had them... and they were so good. Standard in that they had the typical ingredients of chicken, peppers (red, green, yellow), onions, with rice and beans accompanying it. They were cooked really well and when I ran out of tortillas (do I underfill them? Are we purposely given too few tortilla shells? I don't know) I ate the rest of the veggies and chicken which I've not done before. It was too good for it to go to waste. There are a few parking spaces in the little shopping strip but no street parking since it's along Sheridan Road. I don't get up to Highwood often--I think I've driven through here maybe a handful of times in the 15 years I've lived in Chicago--so I don't know when I'll ever be back. However, I would come back to dine at Doña Paty's if I was up in the area.

Food was delicious! One of the best guacamoles I have had. Chips were light and homemade. Mole sauce was super tasty, as were rice and beans. Tinga burrito was really well made. The owners were lovely.

It was our first time here, they were extremely hospitable, they were helpful when it came to recommendations, and they were overall and amazing business! Food came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious! A definite must try! Prices are also a great value for flavor and portion sizes! Great music and ambiance overall. We will be back soon!

When we are in the area there is only one place we even think to go. Doña Paty's. Our visits routinely follow my wife's prenatal appointments. She has had no shortage of cravings and after each appointment this is the only place she wants to go. This is the only place whose chips and salsa (yes, chips) are noteworthy. Best we've ever had. Not every Mexican restaurant has real fruit aguas frescas but they do here and they are delicious. They are refreshing, not overly sugary, and they compliment the food so well. As for the food, the menu is uncomplicated and the food is delicious and consistently of good quality and freshness. Never greasy or slapped together. We've never tried so many things on a menu because we're afraid of missing out on something delicious. My go to is the arabe taco.

Randomly stopped by this spot today and may have stumbled upon the greatest burrito I've ever had. Local spot in strip mall. Hard to find but they have been there 5 years. Hung out with the owner and his Mom. They take great pride in everything they do and that was apparent. The guac and burrito were fabulous, fresh and flavorful.

I ordered Pico de Gallo and put it into my Caldo De Res and of course some Chipotle

First time at this little gem. I bought two soups: Pozole Blanco Caldo De Res and Chicharrón Tacos on flour tortilla Most authentic food. The portions are huge, the quality is fresh and homemade. What brought me in was the enthusiasm the person on the phone when I called and confirmed if they had Pozole Blanco...I had to drive the distance to come try it. My new go to for amazing food and soups!! Thank you for a delicious meal!!!!

They provided us with large bowl of thin crispy chips and salsa. We also ordered the guac which was fresh and creamy and mild and more delicious chips, still warm. The menu offers a lot of variety and we ordered from the Lunch Menu. Our order came out quickly, and portions were large. I ordered a taco salad with fajita steak and I enjoyed the grilled steak, onions and peppers, hot off the grill and I will order fajitas on a future visit. My companions enjoyed their enchiladas, tamales and quesadillas. I will also have to order tacos next time. I did think there was a lot of ground beef on the lunch menu, although there are chicken, steak and pork dishes as well on the regular menu. Overall, this was a solid restaurant with typical Mexican dishes. The friendly staff were eager to please which shifted this from a four star to a five star. HP needs more restaurants in its downtown area so I wish Blue Margaritas much success.

I can only imagine what shape the kitchen is in; if the dining room is this neglected, the back-of-house probably violates health codes in three languages. It desperately needs a refresh, like yesterday. Ordered the steak fajitas thinking it'd be a safe bet. Nope. Overpriced compared to literally any other spot in the neighborhood, and they *force* you to get rice and beans whether you want them or not--like a culinary hostage situation. The steak was a tiny, unseasoned sliver you could floss with, the veggies were bland, limp, and clearly steamed into submission hours earlier, and the whole plate felt like an afterthought--nothing to write home about. The rice? A pathetic dry little scoop served in a tiny little bowl so unappetizing I didn't even touch it. But the real kicker? The menu still brags that toppings (lettuce, sour cream, cheese, guac) are *included*, yet the server mumbled something about "they changed how it's priced" and slapped an extra $7 charge on the bill for stuff that comes standard with fajitas at every other Mexican restaurant. Sneaky, frustrating, and borderline bait-and-switch. Save your money and walk five minutes down the street to **La Casa de Isaac**--better food, better pricing, and a vibe that doesn't make you want to sanitize your hands every 30 seconds. This place? Hard pass. Don't waste your time or money.

There were quite a lot of people who stopped in (as I said, many places were closed) and that added to our wait. My flautas came out covered with beans, lettuce and tomato and garnished with cheese and avocado. It was tasty but not what I was expecting. My friends taco salad was fine, although the shell was well done. I felt the food was pricey for what we ordered and it did take a while for them to bring our check and process our card. That is a price difference of $10!! I assumed it was just large since it came out with the meal (as a side would), not before as an appetizer.
