We are from San Francisco and always stop here when we visit family in Langford. Legit mexican food; freshly made tortillas, salsas, etc. I always get the beef al pastor. Service is very attentive. This restaurant has a good tortilla soup, which is the only reason I have ever returned. The few times I have gone in the restaurant, I am shocked and disgusted by how absolutely filthy it is. Everything is filthy. Each time I visit it's dirtier than the last, as if new layers of filth are forming while no staff cleans whatsoever. Tables are always dirty. The walls are dirty. I needed to use the washroom while dining it but the vision of the disgustingly dirty door deterred me from braving whatever was on the other side of it. I actually felt sick to my stomach after finishing my food and peering into the kitchen as I left. Even the kitchen is filthy. I tried this restaurant for the first time today. I was excited to eat their food because I love Mexican food and eat really authentic Mexican food often when I'm visiting the US. I ordered a fish burrito with beans, cheese, lettuce, guacamole and hot sauce. It was probably the worst burrito I have ever had. It looked like an overweight football! I had 4 TINY bites of fish and the rest of the filling was mushy beans and cheese. I can't even say that there was good flavour because I had to pour hot sauce on it to give it a taste. I know the owners pride themselves on authentic Mexican food and I was really looking forward to trying them out but I just can't justify the $10.50 price tag for what amounted to mostly mushy tasteless beans. I REALLY hope they improve their burritos and I might try their fish tacos in the future. But for now I'll take a pass. read more

The third location in the La Taquisa downtown expansion. It's always a welcome addition when Langford attracts popular downtown eateries (and with the success of Bin 4 hopefully we will see more branching out in the burbs). La Taquisa is located in Goldstream Village beside Western Foods (now Fairway), a convenient spot for quick takeout. There was a steady flow of locals coming in to try this new Mexican place when we walked over on a Sunday. The restaurant is open and casual and the young staff are friendly and helpful. Order at counter and build your own meal choosing, for example, between taco or burrito, the filling and sauces and sides. Great to see seafood and vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options. Grab a table and wait for your order to be called. The food is quite simple. Nothing fancy or complex. I prefer the burritos over tacos. Burritos are more of a meal; tacos are snack size. The tacos are a handmade soft corn tortilla served with salsa and your choice of filling; small and bite-size so order a few and try different flavours. The burritos are big and packed full of frijoles refritos beans, cheese, pico de gallo salsa, lettuce and your choice of filling in a soft warm flour tortilla. Very refried bean-y. Ask to tone down the Mexican pinto beans if not a fan. (Regarding the comment about lack of rice: you will rarely see rice on a burro in Mexico, it's a Cali thing). I recommend the Baja Style Shrimp. And the vegetarian Mole. Both are good. And under $10. The El Gordo is an even bigger version of the regular burrito with double filling. Large and in charge! Tip: the burrito can get messy so use the foil wrapper and just peel away as you devour; also eat as soon as possible so don't travel too far with takeout. The homemade tortilla soup is a family recipe, hearty and full of flavour. The owner is from Guadalajara, Mexico and the recipes are passed down from her grandmother, aunt and mom. La Taquisa in Langford is a good option for tasty takeout-style Mexican meal. It's only been a few days and I'm already craving that burrito... mmm read more

I am always hesitant eating Mexican food in Canada. I expected someone on the grill making my food fresh. Instead I felt as if I was at Chipotle or some other chain. The only plus were the chips and variety of salsa. La Taquisa is not authentic by any means. read more

My boyfriend and I have been eating at La Taquisa for years but the last 4-5 times we've been in our order is wrong when we get home with it or our order will have been made so poorly. The one girl with the black hair usually up high in a messy bun is the only person at the Goldstream location that knows how to make the products properly. After today with yet another wrong order we decided we will not be returning. It's a shame because the food taste great but when you have a lettuce burrito, or no salsa or the wrong salsa or just the wrong order completely it's time to move on. This is probaly the shittiest mexican restaunt i have been to in my entire life me and and my girlfriend just went there terrible service i ordered a combo didnt get my drink asked if i could have one she said it would cost more even though she just took my order gf ordered a burrito the damn burrito leaked so much juice out of it we dnt even think it was fcking beef.. it was soggy and tasted sour...i ordered tacos once again shitty dnt go there please dnt waste of time and money 3 gringos is down the street go there for sure :) read more

No need to return. I picked up a burrito on the way home from work and it was awful. The burrito was a soggy mess. I had a few bites of the filling and threw the rest out. It's not that difficult to make a great tasting burrito but this one missed the mark. I picked the take out from the Wilson Street location. read more

If zero was an option. It was the first few weeks it was open I'll give it that. But literally everything was horrible. The person at the counter should be greeting and welcoming; the feeling was that we were annoying them just being there. Hmm okay, look passed that as it's new.. The expense? Ridiculous. Two meals were over 40 bucks. This is TACOS right? LOL. Get the said tacos ... By the way ask for an adult size cup as the cup that comes with the meal is for a 10 year old. The food was disgusting. Looked thrown together. The corn tortilla didn't even taste like a tortilla. Hardly any protein. I ended up tossing it out. I was looking forward to this as the downtown one is hyped constantly. Save your money and go over to Three Gringos, across the street. It's been here forever and the portions are huge! AND it's delicious. The tacos are amazing! I'd been waiting years for a decent taco place to open on the west shore, and luckily enough THE BEST taco shop opened. Everything on the menu is great, but I tend to stick to the Baja fish tacos or the shrimp.
