I love this place. The fajitas are fire, the portion is spot on. This place is a solid traditional Mexican restaurant. I say that because the patrons are mostly Mexican! Lol. I say that jokingly, but their customers come for the food! A big menu that does not disappoint. My son loves the Carne Asada fries. Parking is easy, great customer service and the restaurant is cute. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I try to get here a few times a month. They are appreciative of their customers.
You will drive by this place and never give it a second thought. Looks almost abandoned from the outside, made of plywood and prayers. But... once you enter... the same thing. Blaring Mexican music, a small bar and huge covered patio. It's like being transported back in time or to another country - which is good. The food was amazing. The chips were perfection. The homade guac is killer, and the portions are huge! Two to go boxes were needed. Go. Eat. Be happy. This place will knock your socks off for flavor and authentic Mexican food
let me tell you a little story about this place seafood plates, i order was called stuffed fillet of fish. it had shrimp, scallops, crab mushrooms, and it was covered whith a mild chipotle sauce with beans and rice on the side, you get your complementary chips and salsa that it was so delicious and as a starter course your own salad service was top notch by mayra who was very attentive and courteous she by herself i will give her a 10 everything was a 10, it was my very first time in this restaurant. i recommended completely if you wanna have an experience like never before with mexican style seafood this is your place you can quote me on this?
I've been driving by this place for years and i finally stopped in and was not disappointed! The food was AMAZING so fresh and tasty. I ordered the tostada el viejon and my son ordered the red aguachile. The portions are big. The service was excellent, all the servers were super attentive and came around constantly to make sure we didn't need anything. I would 100% recommend this restaurant.
Yajaira was super nice, very attentive and didn't have to ask for anything she was already giving it to us. The customer service was something I haven't had in a while very good. Really good food and micheladas it comes with shrimp as well and super fresh. She also bagged our food to take home and prepared it really well, I'm definitely coming back just for the service and great food.
This was my first time here and I am extremely impressed. The service was great. It seems like a great sit down place, but I ordered to go. I had the California burrito and it definitely is up there as one of the best I've had. For the price that most places sell mediocre burrito, this place gives you a whole meal. The burrito had the perfect fries to carne asada ratio. Both perfectly cooked and wrapped very tight and easy to eat. The only bad thing I can say is I wish it came with more of the delicious home style refried beans topped with queso fresco. The beans definitely reminded me of home. You also get a side of guacamole, pico de gallo, a grilled jalapeño and a bag of ships. Also received a total of 4 salsas, 2 rojas and 2 frescas, and I didn't have to ask. I will definitely be returning and hopefully dine in. This is the type of place that makes me want to try everything on the menu. It definitely seems like a hidden gem.
On a quiet corner resides a lively, friendly, and delightful mariscos restaurant. We came by around 5:30 for an early dinner. As seafood fans, my husband and I are always on the lookout for our new favorite local seafood spot. I'm glad we made the trip here because we totally found it! Ambiance was very nice, we were sat in the semi-outdoor patio. Lively music playing at a reasonable volume. There was also ample seating - great for large parties!! Our server was very friendly and attentive (the gal with braces). She checked on us despite having waiting on a large party. Hubby got the fish taco plate and really enjoyed his dinner. I got my favorite - Siete Mares! The rich broth was delicious and very flavorful, and a generous portion of seafood on top of that. I even had enough for a full container to take home. We also shared an order of a dozen oysters. Oysters were meaty, clean, and tasty! Considering the portion and quality, the price was very reasonable. Our check for the three came out to be $86 before tip. Had an overall fantastic experience here at La Sinaloense. Friendly service, awesome food. Highly recommended!
Don't bother looking further for another mariscos place. Your search stops here. The molcajetes are all so good, can't go wrong ordering one of those and they're more than enough to share. The tacos are all really good too. You know a place takes pride in their food when their sides are sooo good on their own. The beans & rice aren't just place holders for the plates, they're genuinely so good. Service is also great, super attentive and bring you whatever you need and ask for. The patio seating is super nice too, it's secluded with a nice view and ambiance, with plants surrounding. Makes you forget you're in spring valley. Must try
The local Mexican restaurant, I had to try it! My husband & I ordered: SMALL MOLCAJETE SINALOENSE - The small is more than enough to share for at least 2-3 people! It's super flavorful & filled with lots of seafood. We didn't care for the cactus itself but the flavor was all there. It was way too much cheese for my liking but if you're a cheese lover this has your name written all over it! It comes with your choice of corn or flour tortilla and rice. OCTOPUS TOSTADA - They definitely do not skimp on the octopus/ seafood! I couldn't even finish because there was so much. It was really fresh! I was hopping this would come with tostada but mines only came with 2 big slices of cucumber. It's pretty spicy & very flavorful. CUSTOMER SERVICE - They were very quick & friendly! No complaints. I'm glad there's a restaurant like this right by my house. read more

It was my birthday and we were visiting San Diego. My gf and I wanted some mexican food and yelp recommended this place. It did not dissapoint. Slightly rainy day and cold weather, we arrived with plenty of seating available since it was a Monday late afternoon. Sat in the outside area, a wooden construct with a water fountain. Couple of curious birds flew in hoping for some nibbles. Pretty cute I would say. Gf ordered the Mojarra Frita and I got the Aguachile Appetizer. Also got a Michelada to go with the food. Less than 10 mins, food arrived, the waitress stated that because the tilapia was a bit small, they doubled it up for us. Wow! Thank you very much. The tilapia was extra crispy just like she likes it, the Aguachile was served in a molcajete and it was a very gracious portion. The tostada chips provided with the Aguachile was also extra crispy. No joke when I say that. I tried to break a piece and I punched a hole through it (picture proof). Now that is crispy and delicious complimenting the sourness of the shrimps. The waitress came by occasionally to check on us to make sure we were doing okay and if we needed anything else. Thumbs up for the great service! Very satisfied with the food and service. Definitely will be returning. We left very full and sleepy. By the way, restrooms are also very clean and well maintained. read more
4.5 this is really good Mexican, Sinaloense style!! The place is cute on the inside and kinda takes you to Mexico. The place gives you good chips & salsa to start things off. They also bring you this house soup which is delicious. My girlfriend & I ordered pozole & aquichiles. The pozole was really good, we both loved the rich flavors. The pozole bowls aren't as big as most restaurants but it is big enough. The aquichiles is huge, you can split it with multiple people. The aquichiles were also really good and definitely worth trying out if you like marinated shrimp with cucumbers & onions in a spicy green sauce. Strong Mexican vibes and occasional mariachis make this a must try Mexican place for seafood lovers. Definitely recommended & happy eating! read more

Love coming here to fulfill my mariscos craving! Been here several times and always have good service experience. Patio dining area kind of reminds me of being somewhere south of the border, casual and I love that they play Mexican music. Traditional Mexican mariscos spot, over all the ambiance was good and service was great. The portions are pretty big, my kid couldn't finish her kids taco plate lol. My husband pointed out that the food was a bit greasy, but it ain't Mexican if it asking greasy let's be honest lol. I came during the week, but I heard they have live band on the weekends. The restaurant is small and parking can be limited, but over all it's a good spot for Mexican and mariscos. The restrooms are located outside and around the restaurant building which was odd, but no biggie. read more

This vendor was at the Mariachi Festival I attended on Sunday. Since I wanted to try a variety of food items at this event, I decided to get some ceviche at this booth after having an arepa. The fish ceviche looked tasty, so I ordered that. It came with two tostadas and some spicy sauce (if preferred). The ceviche tasted great since I was still hungry, but after a while, the fish tasted weird. There wasn't much flavor after the sauce was gone and I ended up not finishing the rest. I'm a big fan of ceviche, so it was pretty disappointing for me. However, I loved the perfectly ripened avocado they added on top and the tostada was also fresh and crunchy. I hope their food is much better at their restaurant though. read more

The Yelp reviews are reliable, I can attest after my long overdue visit. We tried the shrimp cocktail which must have had a pound of Mexican sweet shrimp in it...yes that could have used a bit more Clamato but I appreciated the ketchup on the side as I don't like my shrimp cocktail too sweet and ketchupy! The favorites were the garlic fish taco that was the best fish taco I have ever had... Flavorful garlic with tons of flaky mild fish accompanied by a chipotle cabbage slaw presented like a five star restaurant. Tacos are really well priced for quality and quantity ! Also the tostadas are Off the charts with the aguachile which is a shrimp ceviche that is Mexican Raw shrimp in a flavorful cilantro Chile sauce but I wish the shrimp was chopped like at Karina's bc the whole Raw shrimp is tough To mentally process.. haha. Also the mixed seafood tostada was delicious with octopus, shrimp,scallops and unfortunately some surimi fake crab which we are not fans of but overall excellent and I think only 8 bucks :.. a ridiculous steal!! This restaurant is the real deal..lots of patio space and wonderful service.. yes you are looking out at Jamacha road... This ain't no San Diego bay view but if you want authentic Mexican cuisine with low prices and quality food this is the ticket. Good prices and huge portions with fresh quality seafood will make me return like...tomorrow!!! read more

The food here is amazing and fresh. I have been to many seafood restaurants all over and I have to say the mariscos here are AMAZING. The micheladas are FIRE!! the michelada mix they make tastes like that of those in Cancun! The plates are a big and good in size and the prices are just right. Our server Martha was so hospitable checking in on us and suggesting the amazing Tóxica tostada! Do yourself a favor and come eat here! read more

This place has great food but the take out portions seem too small. We ordered the green aguachiles ,paid $30 plus tax, and went home. Once we opened the take out box the portion seems way to small for $30 worth. As I started digging in we found a hair. I called the place and I had to drive back to get my refund. Super inconvenient and my appetite was gone. Make sure you double check your order before leaving. read more

It was surprisingly good experience since the place's location and appearance can be deceiving. Salsa that comes complimentary with chips needs a little bit of work. It was bland mostly tasting like plane tomatoes Ceviche was great, but to my taste I'd ad a bit more lime juice to it. This is awesome place to watch some sports events as they have TVs though out the restaurant and pay premium sports package. If you haven't been here out it on your bucket list for sure read more

Amazingly delicious food. Excellent service. Very friendly family atmosphere. Seems to be a regular place to go for many of their patrons. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food. We will definitely go back when we are in south SD. read more

Came here on Monday, 7/19/21 lovely ladies running the floor and the hard working staff in the back. Beers are cold beyond it being a hot day and the seafood is fresh. It's not the fastest service but it was the sweetest. I loved that they have plants all over , felt so fresh and welcoming. read more

I am not known to to decline a good fish taco, and when one of my colleagues told me about this little place, I figured I stop by after work on my way home. I ordered a pair of battered fish tacos, and asked them to go light on the sauce. My third time having authentic mariscos ... and this little place with the big patio was very traditional. I love shrimp and I wish I knew all the preparations so I could've ordered something more interesting. I was too shy to keep asking questions of our server. Definitely will study up for next time. Some items don't have prices, and if it's only 2 people it's important because the mocajete was giant. I've never had one and I loved the grilled shrimp and flour tortillas, however the carne was a bit fatty and chicken not very flavorful. The fresh avocado and rice and beans were very nice accompaniment, fresh salsa was spicy but not overly hot. I wish the happy hour stuff was listed on the menu, so I could check out the specials. Music was super loud and fun, but hard to carry a conversation for me. Our tacos were great, shrimp and fish classics at a very reasonable price. I was expecting more because of the great reviews. Or not sure if the Chula Vista location is better. Found this place on Yelp & decided to drive out to it. I had the mojarra frita plate. Looked great but was dry so I asked for side of butter, it made it better. My flour tortilla on the side for the plate was toasted & stale. The beans were salty not sure if they are always like that & honestly tasted like they were canned beans or sitting in the fridge for at least 3 days. The tortilla bowl the beans are served in was very stale as well. Husband had the shrimp molcajete agua chile. Our bill came out to $51. It was an early lunch, We ordered two sodas, 1 mojarra frita which was just $12 & 1 molcajete. So assuming molcajete must have been $28+. If the food only tasted as great as it looked maybe that's why I think Molcajete definitely not worth $28+ for quality of food we got. The service was nice which is why I give them 3 stars. This location is a hole in a wall place but we don't mind going out of our comfort zone to get great traditional yummy food. We were willing to try because usually it is the holes in the wall places that will serve you great home cook quality traditional dishes. But this wasn't it. In my opinion, you can get similar pricing with better quality Mexican seafood elsewhere. read more

Pro: I will start off with pros because I've had their food in the past. It was good so I decided to come back, BUT after this last time I'm not so sure I will. Cons: We ordered TWO tacos and 1 Birria consume at 12:52.....we got our food at 1:40. Basically took almost an hour for two tacos, when they told us it would only take 30 MINUTES!! I wouldn't have been too upset because hey things happen. But they basically threw some tortillas and shrimp in a box and gave it to us. AND to top it off they even forgot the Birria consume, we had to back and ask for it. Really disappointing, there are far better places to get mariscos and Birria. Golosito has delicious mariscos, and Fernandez restaurant has way better Birria! read more

Save your time and eat somewhere else. For starters the waitress was just not happy to be working there ( tallest girl with dark hair). Second the reviews say there have been several mystery charges on their cards. Now let's get to the food. The food was average for the most part. Aguachiles were NOT good. They tasted raw, hot, and chewy. I ordered TWO $28 each! I was not happy with a $56 crappy meal. I told the waitress and she argued back that that is what aguachiles are. You apply lemon and they are instantly made... not true. It's just like ceviche. It needs to sit a little in the lemon juice to cook. I am a big seafood eater. She said she would only remove 1 only so here I am paying $28 for something I didn't even eat. I never post reviews but felt the need to because of the waitress. It must be easy to be a rude crappy waitress when they're charging 18% for gratuity. Shitty meal got her an $33 tip. & by the end of our meal we realized the crackers were expired and went ahead and let her know also.. no comment. She just continued picking up dishes. $217 later you would be writing this review trying to save people. read more
