I really wanted to love this place...I even waited for the newness to be worked out...but 15$ for a small cheese pizza and. 2.50 for a child's small milk were a bit over the top in price. The dinner salad was ok but needed more dressing(and I do not like my salad soaked in dressing). The pesto sausage pizza was good but not great. I ordered ice tea and asked if it was flavored and was told it was not...but it was. So disappointed in our lunch and no wonder we were the only ones in there the whole time. Definitely worth the stop. We've found our new regular spot on our trip from San Diego to Eureka. Family sampled pizza, and three different pastas and sauces and all were excellent. We loved loved loved everything we had here in this special little restaurant! We ordered spaghetti with homemade Sicilian sauce (typically made to be slightly sweet and lightly spiced) and a meatball for our young daughter, which she enjoyed immensely! My husband and I split the caprese salad and focaccia with four mouth watering dipping sauces. The caprese salad had the perfect balance between plump juicy tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. The owner makes an in house balsamic vinaigrette that was served with it and is excellent. The focaccia is made fresh as you wait, and it's really the only way to prepare it correctly so the outside is crunchy and the inside soft and airy. We topped off our delightful meal with a cannoli and Lavazza coffee! If you want a special homemade satisfying meal you should stop by and soak up the deliciousness!! read more

We stopped in this place after a recommendation from our hotel. Everything there was made fresh to order, which meant it took a little longer to prepare but we thought it was worth it over some boring frozen food! The pesto was the best pesto I've ever had, since they make it in house, and the fresh bread was absolutely amazing. Our waiter, Phillip, was awesome! He was so sweet, and the only waiter in the busy restaurant, but he was totally on top of it and didn't miss a beat! Definitely be sure to stop into eat if you get the chance. I'm not one to write reviews as you can see by my review count, but this place deserves a great review. Let's start by talking about the cleanliness of the restaurant. From the moment my family and I walked in, we knew we were on to something good. Clean looking, clean smelling and a great "Hello" as we walked in the door. First thing to do is walk in the restroom, spotless. Next, look behind the counter and inside the kitchen area, very clean... I also work in the restaurant industry and know what a restaurant looks like on good as well as bad days and this was ALL GOOD! Service... on point, fast, friendly and accurate. Food... Fresh, Flavorful and really tasty. Each bite of pizza was delicious, my daughter's spaghetti noodles were great and she loved every bite. The meatballs were "old school" not canned. Do yourself a favor and ask any restaurant you eat at to heat something in a microwave. If they don't have one, you're on to something good. Ask if they have heat lamps and if they don't, even better! There are none of those things here!! Why you ask? Fresh doesn't have a need for those things! We live in Sacramento and coming back from a family vacation up north, this food was the highlight and I hope this little jewel of a restaurant gets all the good that it deserves. This food is definitely worth the drive. I just wish they were 200 miles closer. Now I have to find a lot more reasons to visit family up there and make a guaranteed stop. Well done... read more

I have been here a few times with average experience but today was such a disappointment . The server today was so incredibly rude for no reason at all. Everything I asked was responded in such a over the top attitude. Then to top it off the pizza was put on a raised tray and the whole pizza slipped off, if it wasn't so enough that he didn't ask if we wanted to order something else he was so angry and nasty about having to "help" me clean it. My husband and I were famished, we had driven through lunch without snacks! After dropping off our luggage at our hotel we decided to find food! When we got there it was not too busy and Philip greeted us right away with menus and something to drink. The food was fabulous! And service was quick! We had penne with red sauce and meatballs. We also had salads with the owners Italian dressing and garlic bread. Just before we left we met the owner/chef himself, and thanked him for a wonderful meal. Discovered this place totally by accident while driving through town on our way north. Stopped for an early dinner and had a great meal. Kids had the pizza and it was great. I had the tortellini with a simple sugo sauce. Really good and servings large. Wife had the penne with the sugo arrabbiata. Nice kick to the sauce but I liked the simple sugo better. We threw in a meatball on the side. Moist and tasty. Great service and friendly owner who came out to meet with all the diners. Highway bypass be damned, we'll be eating here again next time we travel this way. read more

Are you kidding me!!! I just don't know where to start! Passing through, feeling like some yummy garlicky pasta and bread. How could you go wrong with a name like this? Sat down ok, all good. Cheap wine ok, no biggie, I'm easy tonight. Ordered two dinner salads before our pasta dinner, LOVED them!! Asked for some bread to go along well, we got that that but, that meant the TWO TINNNNNY PIECES of garlic of bread! In my opinion, feed THE PEOPLE on juicy,garlicky bread, and they WILL GO HOME HAPPY, EVEN IF, the dinner is less than satisfactory! Ok so then the penne with wine, garlic and herbs came out. NO parmesan, I asked and the we just pointed out the bottle of Parmesan cheese on the table....YUM, the stuff I hated even as a child. I asked for fresh parmesan, they didn't have any but I could get fresh Romano. Ok, yes please. EXTRA CHARGE!! Wow Anyway, to make a long complaint short, not worth it in my opinion!! read more

This place is soooo good!!! A little Sicilian breath of fresh air right here in our little town! One word, meatballs!!!! Omg love them!! They are made in house by their owner who studied Sicilian cuisine and can often be heard whistling to the music while he cooks. Someone who really loves what they do and it shows in the food. We eat here about twice a month. Their pizza is best hot hot hot but if you want takeout, get some pasta!! I personally love the spicy sugo arribbiatta with raviolis and the classic margarita pizza. Homemade sauces, delicious crusty bread, meatballs flavorful with part pork and part beef, pizza had the same crust as bread: light but not thin, just right; tasty cheese; and a truthful menu: Firemen Pizza had spicy pepperoni & forging ahead was necessary but fun. Deschute's beer on tap -- Black Butte Porter -- fresh and perfect match. Choice of sauces on spaghetti -- got medium Arabiatta, plenty of heat but manageable. Very good service. The food is fantastic, the spaghetti with sugo sauce, the salads with house dressing, and pizza, you can't go wrong. The food was great, but the customer service left something to be desired. I called probably around 10 times and the phone just rang. I finally drove to the restaurant to see the staff there and just ignoring the phone. I get that they were busy, but I feel like there has to be a better system in letting people know that. When I went to make my order in person, the girl who took my order was beyond rude. She asked if I was there for pick up and I said no because I couldn't order. I said that I called several times and her response was, "Yeah, we're busy." Mind you, it took a while for me to even be acknowledged in the restaurant. I wasn't rude and was very understanding of their situation. I didn't feel like the attitude was necessary. I ordered and came back 30 minutes later for my food still wasn't done and I was ignored for a while at the counter. I know people are overwhelmed right now, but the response from staff was just unnecessary. I wish my experience was better. read more

Pros: Excellent customer service. Very tasty food. I ordered the ravioli with the pesto cream sauce and it was delicious. Cons: Small portions. A bit on the pricey side. $12.95 for about 8 ravioli. Just got in town from a long drive and ready to have dinner. The name of this restaurant makes it sound like it's going to be more on the expensive side. It's not! If your driving be careful you dont miss it, I passed it twice. We got the bread sticks with 4 drippings sauces. (Definately worth the wait. @15 min baking time) I got the penne with pesto cream sauce. My husband got ravioli florentine with a med spicy red sauce (forgot the name but last sauce on the list) and the appetizer meatballs (3). All was great! We finished everything. (We dont take leftovers while traveling and it was too good to leave behind) Definitely recommend this place. Our waiter was awesome and friendly. Chef even came out to talk to everyone. read more
