Bello is an Italian restaurant, but thinking about it, I don't think I've had it with more of a French influence. Coming from NYC, I'm usually more used to American-Italian. I had their veal parm and the tagliatelle nere al frutti di mare. I liked the veal parm, but I'm used to the pasta being more tomato, while theirs seem to be more white wine focused - definitely different from my taste bud from US! The tagliatelle was a squid ink seafood pasta. I like how they have either full size or half size portions!

Our poutine was delivered to the table and I can honestly say it was our favorite. The fries were crunch and creamy on the inside. The gravy was rich and had a deep flavor and the cheese curds had lightly melted. Every bite was perfect. The eatery and bar are tucked into a stone house that dates back to 1668, if only the walls could talk. The bar and restaurant feature local Quebec cuisine and is a gem. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere.

The servers here seem to work in tandem helping out wherever needed so we had two different people waiting on us throughout our meal which was cool! To start off with drinks we ordered a limoncello spritz and a fruitatto spritz. The fruit one was by far my favorite, but I'd also dangerous because you could drink them all day like water lol. The limoncello was delicious as well, just be mindful if you're not a limoncello person or have had it before that it'll be a strong flavor when you sip it! For our food we shared the Parmesan truffle fries as an appetizer, the Spag pollo (pasta with chicken, tomatoes, and veggies), and the 1608 flatbread (bechamel sauce, mushrooms, bacon, 1608 cheese, rosemary). Everything we had was so delicious & I even drizzled some spicy oil on top of the pizza which really elevated the flavor! If you're ever visiting Quebec City you have to check this place out!

When the wrong meal was brought over, our server escalated to his manager who then offered to exchange his meal. They kept apologizing for the mixup but honestly, they already handled it well by replacing it without issues. The pasta dish was so good! I scooped the extra sauce with my crostini and really enjoyed it. The clams were meaty and fresh too. Daughter ordered the pasta with meat sauce- also very good. We started with Caprese and bruschetta, followed by cacio e pepe, arrabbiata, eggplant Parmesan, and pizza.
