Dissapointed.we went to La Salute last night and was dissapointed, we booked over a month ago and was very much looking forward to going as we read such good reviews and we are both lovers of Italian food!! on arrival the restaurant was very busy which we think is always a good sign but the member of staff did not smile or say good evening insead just said 'have you booked?' like we were an inconvienience and was not meant to be there, we got seated and was left for 15 mins before anyone asked what drinks we would likethey only have a choice of 4 white wines which we have no problem with but they had run out of one so we payed £5 more for the other wine which yes was nice but no wine chiller was given and the restaurant was very hothowever when we ordered a second bottle we was given a chiller. The food was nice but nothing amazing, the portions are huge which is nice and good value for money. We ordered mushrooms and deep fried cheese for starters and both were very nice, we ordered lasagne and risotto for out mains, my husband said his lasagne tasted like heinze tomato soup! The risotto was nice but bland, cheesey garlic bread was lovely, all of the food was well presented. I feel that they may have been too busy to cope with all of the customers, no one checked how our food was or asked us if we enjoyed our meal which was a shame. The decor is lovely just the music let it down as it did not give it the nice relaxed feeling you should have when you go out for a meal.
I do not think we would be going back there which is a shame as when we heard Aylesbury was going to have a traditional italian restaurant we thought we would be visiting quite often! read more
