I was excited to come here for breakfast after hearing many good things.
Firstly the decor is adorable and they really have created a nice environment to sit in. It's very cosy and comfortable, with lots of shabby chic furnishings. The music selection seemed a bit eclectic - Robbie Williams' 'Rudebox' was blaring out when we first got there, which seemed like an odd choice for little old Tring on a Sunday morning.
The breakfast menu is simple but covers all the basics, with both sweet (waffles, pancakes) and savoury (eggs/full English) options. I went for poached eggs with bacon & avocado while the other 2 chose pancakes and waffles.
The food and drinks were all lovely and prices very reasonable. I've marked down because of 2 things: the wait for food and the service. The food took nearly 40 minutes, which seems an awful long time for 3 simple breakfasts! The service was friendly but very non-attentive - we had to call the waitress over whenever we wanted anything, including to order our food and drinks. There also wasn't enough cutlery on the table when the food arrived and we had to ask for it twice, which was a pain given the already long wait on the food.
A really lovely setting and good ideas with the food and drink, but there seem to be a few teething problems which need ironing out. read more
