Worst Mexican food I've ever had in my entire life. From the second we sat down it was a bad experience. Service should not have been that slow for being 8:30 at night.There was karaoke going on, which normally wouldn't be a problem but it was as loud as they could possible make it and say us directly in front of it even though we asked for a different side of the restaurant. Took almost 10 minutes to get our drink order, which was just water. Once we ordered food came out fast, but tasted terrible. Was the most disgusting fajita I've ever had. Service from the second I sat down was awful. Drinks sat empty for at least twenty minutes, and we sat and waited for out check after another 40 minutes of being miserable. Never going back. Okay, so we are from Southern California. Just moved here about a month ago. We have tasted so much Mexican food under the sun. We are also Mexican/Puertorican. La Rumba is not horrible. It is not excellent either, but it satisfies a craving for Mexican food. They do a good job here. The service was good, the staff friendly, the place clean. Only thing, if you get anything with cheese ask them to go easy on it for it is very rich. So just my 2 cents. Hope it helps. read more

Only doing a review because it was that bad...Taco Bell has better food, and that should be an insult....I got a beef quesadilla and my wife got a soft taco, and everything was bad. The one star they get is because the waiter was friendly and the sweet tea was good. Oh -- and they ran out of high chairs, and the place wasn't even half full......save your time and money and go to Taco Bell, or better yet, make the drive to Niceville and go to Pepitos if you want real Mexican food. read more

This place was not good. When we walked in the atmosphere looked promising for the authentic Mexican food we've been searching for since moving to Florida but by the end of our visit we were saying never again. First two people in our part ordered margaritas imagine our disappointment when we received a fly in one. We promptly told our waitress who took it away and came back with another telling us that the manager was currently making a fresh batch. Well that's great but the new one she brought us was obviously still from the fly batch. We got our food and this time there was hair underneath the beans on one of our plates. We told our waitress again who offered to bring us a new plate but why would we want anything else? I would have given more stars but the whole time the manager on duty never once came over to address the situation or apologize. So no I would not recommend this place or return. read more

I went with a group of 6 and we were all dissatisfied with our food. I had nachos, that is my safe order when I go to Mexican establishments. The chips were overcooked and the price was too much. Another person just ordered cheese sticks...how can someone mess up cheese sticks? She didn't eat them...the salsa was not spicy enough and had a sweet taste. OK I'm not HIspanic and I can make a better salsa "what's up with that?" Another person ordered chicken wings she didn't like them, and another individual ordered enchiladas and they were disquisted. Needless to say the food sucks, but the drinks are the bomb if you are looking to get tore up. HMMM MAYBE THAT'S THE KEY....DRINK AND GET SO MESSED UP THAT YOU DON'T CARE WHAT YOU'RE EATING. The cooks work from early morning to late at night to cook the food delivered here. It does not come out of a can. Everything they make they do so from scratch but are not allowed to make it too authenticate because people complain about it being too spicy. Think about that next time your ask your server what part of Mexico she's from. read more

I like a restaurant that defies my expectations, and La Rumba surprised me pleasantly today. My wife and I stopped in for lunch, expecting an average, decent fast casual Mexican restaurant. Mariachi music: check. Good chips and salsa: check. Good margarita: check. On the lunch menu: Shrimp La Rumba, described as "sauteed in a special sauce." The sauce was not a typical flaming-hot, cumin-heavy chile sauce; it was a pleasant tomato/garlic sweet and sour sauce. The shrimp had a nice mild flavor, and the sauce made a perfect accompaniment to it. It's a winner! // My wife had beef fajitas, which were also good. Service was great: just the right amount of attention from the waiter, at the right times. Bottom line: way, way above the standard for fast casual dining. read more

Well, I am rarely negative and maybe it's because I am from Texas and used to real Mexican food but the fajitas here were NOT authentic Mexican. The marinade or seasoning they put on it is not the taste that fajitas are supposed to have. I haven't tried anything else there, so I am not going to say it is all bad because that would not be fair. If they could just work on their fajitas, it could be great! read more

Went in on Sunday after seeing the advertisement for Sunday Funday = 1.50 beers and 15% off meal. After arriving we were informed by our server that the advertisement is wrong about the beer and that management will not change the ad. They would not honor the ad so we didn't get any beer. We ended up staying to eat. Service was slow but we were fine with that. One of our group was told the shrimp was fresh for the fajitas and it clearly was not. We ordered a cup of cheese dip that did not come out for quite some time. When asking another server about it we were told that the cheese dip was out for the night. About 15 minutes later we received our cheese dip, but without chips. After dinner was complete and the bills came the 15% was not taken off. Management took it off and we were notified by our server that it is only offered at lunch despite the ad. Needless to say we will not be going back. No matter how good the food is, the false advertisement and unwillingness to honor it turned us off for good. We won't be back. read more
