We had to stay one night in Crestview for a break. Not far from our hotel we saw a restaurant. This is a nice Mexican restaurant with beautiful decorations inside. The servers are friendly and helpful. We went there for dinner and ordered fajitas with chicken on the hot plate and guacamole on the side. They gave us complimentary chips and salsa. Sadly the tasty guacamole came late and we could hardly eat it because we were already full of the delicious food. read more

My Dad and I went to LA Rumbas on 2/9/26 for lunch and the freaking bill was over $70. The food was alright but not $70 worth. My Dads burrito was $25, and was up charged for the rice & beans that should have been included. He had 1 beer and I had a coke and 2 chicken enchiladas rice & beans. Plus our cheese dip was $9 bucks to boot. Anyway the staff has always been very nice and very speedy. But we won't be back because these prices are nuts!! read more

Being from San Antonio where we have some of the best authentic Mexican food and TexMex in the country, we always find it super hard pressed to find something remotely close anywhere else...... BUT NOT ANYMORE! LaRumba hits your taste buds like it's on a mission to rock you like a Hurricane! (Sorry if that's a trigger word for the locals). But seriously the food is absolutely on point! The carne asada was a HUGE strip of skirt steak marinated to perfect that it was so tender and juicy! The steak fajitas and the asada street tacos were hitting harder than Tyson in his prime! Don't even get me started on the margaritas! Their large, is really close to the size of an Olympic swimming pool and there's no way not leaving this place warm and happy after you down that bad boy! The place was a little dead when we got here later on a Thursday during Christmas time which is the only reason I gave it a 4 on atmosphere. We ALMOST let the lack of many cars or people in the place at 8:45 pm deter us but we are soo glad we didn't! Btw, we need to send a HUGE shout out to our waiter Jesus! He had impeccable memory on all of our orders, was filling drinks and delivering more napkins without even being told! He was BA! We stopped in on a Friday night, the place was packed. Our server Was with us quickly an apologised for our short wait. Our food came up quickly I had the fajita combo And my better half had 2 steak tacos.. The fajitas came out hot and siz zling and were very tasty. There was more than I could possibly eat. The tacos came out and they were not hot but warm. Not a whole lot of flavour to them but not bad. We would go back again and I definitely would try some things on the menu that I saw but tonight I wanted fajitas. read more

I'm not sure why this place has only 3 stars. This place is amazing!! Traveling through the area and stayed in a nearby hotel. We figured we try it. It blew our minds! We ordered: Beef soup and rice Fajita burrito and rice Flans From the freshness, flavor/seasonings and temperature was absolutely delicious. The amount of food and quality was outstanding. I made an impromptu stop at this restaurant as it was right next to the hotel that I'm staying at. I got there at 7pm and it was very busy (definitely a good sign). I waited for about 5 minutes and was told I could sit at the bar. The bartender got me some water and brought out some chips and salsa right away. The menu is big and has lots and lots of options. I decided to go for the Fajitas Tejanas which was a mixture of chicken, steak, and shrimp mixed with onions and peppers, tortillas, rice, beans. Lots of food. Very tasty. And considering how busy this place is, the service was quick. I was impressed. The food was very flavorful. They also have a full bar and the margaritas looked very good. This is my go to place for Mexican food in Crestview (usually always get Fajitas and their 2 for one Margaritas). Now I have lived in California for 16 years and Texas for 2 (Mexican food there was exceptional) so from Crestview Mexican standpoint rated a 5. Margarita's are the stiffest (best in town) I think always 2 for 1 special. I always get their fajitas (today I had chicken and shrimp combo) comes with rice, beans, pico, and sour cream. Their complimentary chips and salsa are great for this area (chips great salsa not bad). Service is outstanding always greetbyou at the entrance and if you need more salsa or tortillas whatever provided immediately (just ask). read more

Love this place! It has been run by the same people for quite some years now and they are extremely friendly people! The service is also always amazing. No matter the size of your party or the many different restrictions you bring they will accommodate you and your party! The food is also great hear! I am a huge fan of the vegetable enchiladas and the spicy margarita! It is a must try if you like spicy drinks! Went here for a bit of lunch as I was driving through the area on my way home from Texas. Inside the place is what you expect... the typical colors and decorations for a strip-mall-esque tex-mex place that have been ordered from a catalog. No problem there, I wasn't expecting anything astounding. There is outdoor seating, which might have been nice, but I wasn't in the mood for outdoors at the time. The standard complimentary chips and salsa came out immediately. The chips were fine, but the salsa could use a good kick and perhaps a bit more cilantro, or perhaps a separate option for something spicier. It would also be nice if they served it in a small carafe that I could pour myself into a bowl, because I ran out of the stuff very quickly... twice. For my lunch I ordered my old standard of the fajitas. I find this dish to be a good test of the kitchen, as it combines a number of different ingredients that you can rate. The side dish of lettuce, rice, and refried beans were alright, though there could have been a bit more pico de gallo on the plate. The guacamole appeared to have been squeezed out of a tube as well. I received the usual three flour tortillas, which is never enough, but I have come to realize that there is not a tex-mex restaurant in existence that makes fajitas and provides enough flour tortillas. The meat mix for the fajitas came out quietly, which means it wasn't sizzling and had probably been sitting in the pass for a while. When it was placed in front of me, I noticed that there was some sort of sauce on it that made it a bit... gluey? It was just odd... the sauce didn't really taste of anything, but it was definitely there. The meat and onions were kind of unimpressive, really. As a guess, I would say that they need to season the meat more. I was thinking of giving this place three stars, but the experience was just not there to warrant it. The comment at the top for two stars being "Meh. I've experienced better." is exactly what describes this restaurant. read more

I'm rating this higher than I would anywhere else because, I mean, this IS Crestview. Back home in Arizona, it would be a two, but here? It's passable. Be aware that the food isn't really authentic, and I recommend avoiding beef all together unless you want to experience a truly saddening ground beef Americanized version of whatever you ordered, but the chicken and seafood dishes kinda rock. And the service is quick and friendly, every time! I'll make a LOT of concessions for good service around here. As a Mexican woman I will say that I enjoy it MUCH more than the other option here, Peppers. And if nothing else, come for the unusually friendly karaoke crowd and the strong, delicious two for one margaritas. Be warned, even a seasoned drinker can be taken by surprise by them! read more

We went tonight, 4 of us. Me and my daughter in law both had issues with our food. I told the waiter we did not like our food, the enchiladas were so covered in sauce, I couldn't taste them, they fell apart when I tried to cut them. Daughter in law ordered chicken alfredo, sure not Mexican food but still, it was dry with over cooked chicken. When I told the waiter, he said "oh, ok". Did not offer to remove it nor take it off the bill. So 85.00 and I ended up grabbing McDonald's after we left. NEVER AGAIN.
