She kept insisting it was her decision to decline the exchange, although the receipt clearly states store credit or exchange past 30 days. I wasn't mad until she decided to answer the phone whilst I was explaining I already knew the terms of returns and exchanges. If the area team reads this message, I strongly recommend you connect with her on how to appropriately address customer complaints and maybe let her read the back of the receipt so she knows what hill to make a stand on. Absolutely abhorrent service.

Apparently they do, and my friend and I went to the H&M in West Ed because we figured the store and selection would be better than South Common. There isn't a huge selection of plus size clothes, but there is a bit, and H&M always has nice basics and trendy pieces too. One thing I love about H&M, no matter what dress size you might be, is the accessories. There are a lot of fun jewellery, purses, scarves, etc and the prices being pretty low it's pretty easy to go overboard and buy quite a bit. Of course the prices being so low this isn't exactly high quality long lasting items, but I tend to break, lose, rip, tear, etc. any accessories I get anyway so spending $12 on a scarf that I'll eventually lose at H&M seems better than spending $100 for a high-end scarf somewhere else. Aside from clothes and accessories the other thing H&M has that I didn't realize they carried are home decor products. This section isn't as big as the regular clothing and accessory section, but there are a variety of fun home decor items you can get, from bedspreads to aprons. West Ed isn't a place I particualrly like to go to, but if I'm here I'll check out H&M again.

I picked up an awesome Quicksilver hoodie here for only $30, which is a crazy steal. That's about 50% off! The trick is to get them early Spring or late Summer, that's when the winter gear is on sale! Below the Belt isn't all about hoodies though. If you're into skate, snow, or surfboarding fashion then this is one of the best places to go to in Southgate. The staff are always friendly to me and I always end up having a nice conversation with them before I eventually leave the store.

Every time I go in I just want to lounge on the settee and have my servants cater to my every whim. OK, back to reality. As mentioned, Anthropologie is a hodge podge (I mean that in a good way) of clothing, decor and books. The clothes can be a bit over the top but the closer you look the more likely you'll find something of interest. The cool thing is they also have kids toys and housewares. It's almost a one stop shop. Another dose of reality is their prices. They're on the high side, but like many things in life you get what you pay for. Often times you can find the decor items at a better price, but by the time you find (if you even do) you'll likely have spend that much in time and effort. If you have eclectic tastes go here and have a feast of eye candy.

I could understand (but not condone) it if Aritzia was a big, prestigious brand name, but they're not. I like the way the store is set up. It's pretty practical and easy to navigate. I don't like how they make you put your stuff in lockers when you try stuff on though. I realize that it probably prevents any kind of shoplifting but it's just inconvenient and, let's be honest, weird. Aritzia is OK. One girl in particular at this location named Hannah was an absolute angel! I pulled lots of items myself and she added some to my dressing room as well. I didn't feel that need to up-sale pressure from her, it felt like she was genuinely showing me pieces I may have missed myself or that she thought I would like. I was also grateful because she was super helpful with putting items on hold for my mom to go pick up later as my birthday gift! Sadly there was one piece I couldn't find in the store so she wrote it down and mentioned to my mom how they could special order it to the store so I could pick it up once it arrived in the store. Of course, my mom thought that was a great idea and went forward with it and stuck the receipt I needed in the gift bag along with everything else. Well later we got the email stating it had arrived and right away I drove all the way to the west end from Sherwood Park and I had forgotten the receipt I needed to pick up the shirt my mom had special ordered for me. I felt like a complete idiot but luckily the girls at the counter reassured me that if someone at home could send me a picture of it that would be totally acceptable as well. So in the end I got everything I wanted and had an excellent experience at this location. Once again I just want to say thank you to Hannah for all the help she gave me! Dots is a pretty decent liquidation store…read more There are two locations in Edmonton; the other one is a much larger location located just north of Oliver Square against the cemetery. All Dots are like a thrift store version of Winners so you need to have time to hunt for the Easter Eggs or hidden treasures. Currently they have some pretty wicked novelty clearance items from Urban Outfitters as well as jewellery/accessories from Urban Outfitters. They have clothing brands from all over the world and they get progressively marked down; sign up for their emails for advance notice of sales and e-mail exclusive coupons. This is a great place for discounted books (I seriously found Choose Your Own Adventures in reprint at the other location for $3!!!!). They consistently have Dex clothing liquidations and other random brands including boutique brands. Today they had Eddie Bauer feather filled mittens! Definitely try your clothing on here though they do have a short 2 week exchange policy. They carry swimsuit 2 piece items throughout the year and usually around the $4-$8 price point. They carry the most random assortments but from time to time you'll find vinyl records, holiday greeting cards with the F-bomb in them, and funky magnets/office supplies. I've found sassy note pads here, great books for presents, hats galore (and usually about $5), runners for my kids (prices vary but cheap, cheap), and dresses for my daughter for under $5. Basically, you need to come here to figure out if this store is for you but plan on having some time to wander around and not be in a rush.

They go something like this: "Get down to Dots for the biggest blowout sale of the season! Mexx! Rock'n'Republic! Some other well-known brand name! Now a lesser-known brand name! Even lesser-known brand name! What is that, I've never even heard of that brand name! Jeans are $10! Shirts are $2! You can't miss this!" So, you can see why I was always a little bit skeptical. Why would I want jeans for $10? Those have to be knock-offs, or just terrible quality. Plus it never sounded like they carried a ton of brands I was super into. But I was having a girly day the other day (I know, that seems to be a theme in a lot of my reviews) and on my way back into the city from South Common I spotted Dots. Why not? I had half an hour to kill. Here's the thing about Dots. I can totally understand why someone would absolutely hate shopping here. It's like shopping at Winners, only more frustrating. The clothes are jam packed onto rack upon rack. And there are just so many racks. The items are helpfully organized by brand (and sometimes size as well), but that doesn't negate how completely overwhelming it is to walk in here. I would say that 95% of the clothes in Dots are things I would never wear. They're either off-trend, aimed at an older demographic, poor quality, or just plain ugly. But if you take your time, this place can be magic. I found the most beautiful dress I think I've ever seen. Regular $130 (and supposedly, would be more at other stores) marked down to $30. Bought it! Now, the zipper was broken, which cost me another $40 at the tailor's (I know, total rip-off, but that's a whole 'nother review), but that's still almost a 50% discount. Not too shabby. I also found two other very cute, age-appropriate modern working girl kind of tops. They were both really inexpensive and really pretty! I don't think I'll have the patience to shop here often, but it was definitely worth it to come by, and when the mood strikes me (and the sales are on), I'll be back.

Garage is an OK place to shop…read more I got one of my favorite hoodies in the world there! It's one of the long ones (the kind that almost goes over your bum) and it's fitted so it's super cute. I got it on sale and I wear it all the time! Usually when I think of Garage, I think of summer clothes. They always have cute tank tops and shorts. I never go there in the winter or fall unless I happen to be in the store beside them for that reason. And, in all honesty, that hoodie is the only thing I've found there for a season other than summer. Their prices are decent and they usually have quite a few good sales in the store.
