The experience is interesting in that it gives you a brief experience of what it is like to drive on a short Nascar track. Be aware you should NEVER pay "retail". They list it as $399 retail, but nobody of the 32 people I was there with paid that. The Norm is $149 as they market extensively through groupon and living social. You should consider this the normal price.Definitely not worth $399. The cars are modified to not go as fast as regular race cars (You can floor it on the straightaways and not get excessive speed). Something to consider is they give a very hard sell on the $89 insurance. Consider not bothering with it if you have any driving skill at all. At the speeds you can get going and the way the cars grip the road their warnings about cars spinning out at the slightest touch of the gas are unfounded. I wish I didnt buy it. Another negative is they have no radar or other speed measuring device set up. You drive for about 12 minutes, and you leave. Even K1 at $10 per pop has lap times counted. For $149 id have expected that there would be something. Also they haven't invested in very good radio gear. They tape (yes, use pink duct tape to the side of your head) foam earphones into your ears. Almost every race had to be stopped because of malfunctioning earpeices. Mine functioned but were very difficult to hear the instructions on passing which affected my experience. Finally make sure you are in an early group. You show up at 7AM, have a 30 minute orientation, then you sit and wait for your turn. I was in the 6th of 8 groups, so didn't race until well past 10 AM. Roughly 30 minutes per group waiting. Overall a fun experience, but very pricey even at $149 (230 if you buy insurance), and leaves you a bit disappointed with having no record of your speed or lap times. They will give you a DVD of your race for $99. . read more

I got this for my boyfriend for his birthday since he loooves cars. He was really excited about it, but the class gave both of us so much unnecessary anxiety, which is partly why I'm only giving the experience a three star rating. All they talk about is crashing, not dying, and how much money it will cost if you do crash, I get that is important, but I feel like there should more of an emphasis on fun. That's why we're here in the first place! The guy made it seem like if you if you even drive slightly off the race line you are going endanger everyone, crash, and end up paying $2500. Secondly, because my boyfriend was put in group where some individuals had prior experience driving stock cars (he has none) they were more familiar and could drive faster right from the beginning while he needed a few laps to feel comfortable. He kept having to get to the Inside of the track to let others pass, which was disappointing because he couldn't get up enough speed to fully experience the feeling a race car. With that said, my boyfriend did enjoy himself. He thought his spotter was super helpful and encouraging. I think they should make the training class more fun, less over the top, and maybe group drivers by experience. It's not really that hard so don't let the class stress you out. read more

Ditto what Nicholas M said. I was quite underwhelmed. The track is very small and the cars definitely didn't have the 570 bhp they claimed it did or they really tuned down the throttle. It is almost impossible to get get beyond 80 mph down the straight away. My own car has better acceleration in the parking lot. Didn't like the hard sell on the insurance. You'd think they would have insurance on their cars already. I think it is just another way for them to make some extra money. They don't let you drive the true racing lines and limit your ability to pass so you will never get fast enough to lose control. It will feel like you are about to lose it but you are actually far from it - you will be going at no more than 45mph in the turns on those fat "slick" tires on a bank. You can go twice as fast without a problem but then you will rear end the slow poke in front of you. They also tried to hard sell an additional 20 laps. Definitely not worth the retail price. read more

Overall, this was a great experience to get behind the wheel of a race car and feel what it is like to race around an oval track. Short of that though, this was not worth the price. My wife found a deal on Groupon for $149, so unless you can find a similar deal, DO NOT pay retail for this experience. You will walk away very disappointed. Time of the track is short and the overall day is very long. PROS: Great instructors. Made safety the #1 concern which made me feel good about getting on the track. CONS: My class started at 10:30 and i did not get on the track until 1:30. That's right, after sitting in a one hour class, i then sat in the bleachers for 2 hours waiting for my turn. They put way too many people in one class and made for a long day. Constant problems with the race radios caused delays, making the wait that much more unbearable. read more

Thanks yelp reviewers for the tips: 1) They have 24 in a class, and take four at a time... Each race takes about 20-25 min. Get there first and you are put to the front.... Or wait potentially 1 1/2 hours for your turn. 2) We didn't get the insurance, although they push it hard ($89). They say everyone that day buys the insurance (not true bc we were one of two who didn't), but they scare you into buying it... Totally up to you, but we were happy to not shell out another $90 bucks for it. What we didn't know is that the people helping with your gear are pretty rude. When we refused a $100 video, the guy just said 'fine' rather rudely and walked away. It seemed that everyone consistently was short from when we suited up, to when we returned the gear... Something that they should work on - but he still had a great time. Somethig to cross off the bucket list! read more

This experience today far exceeded my expectations. It was AMAZING. From the front desk answering my questions on the way there so politely, to getting there and being greeted by their team. What is all this crying about regarding the insurance?? Grow up people. It's a personal choice. I was not pressured AT ALL to buy it, but I bought it anyway because I wanted to drive with a peace of mind... and trust me, stuff happens there because today someone spun out on the track but got lucky and didn't hit anything. Who cares? If you want to take the $50k risk, then do it... they're not forcing you to buy insurance! Had a class at 1:00pm with a really great instructor... he went through any concerns and explained what to expect. The cars were INCREDIBLE. I'm claustrophobic so that part didn't go well but the guys were so very polite and understanding so they waited to strap me in until we were ready to go and after that, you're too busy to think about claustrophobia - and they told me this. They also put me at ease that if at any time I'm not feeling good, I could just pull over to the middle but that luckily didn't happen. Every single employee was so pleasant to deal with. The spotters were INCREDIBLE. They tell you in your earphones what to do (pass, pull down so someone else can pass, floor the gas at the right time, encourage you...). I felt like they could read my mind because their timing was perfect. And so very polite. I would do this again ANY DAY! It's an experience you will not forget. I have no reservations to give them 5 stars and question anybody else's motives who does give them 3 or less (competitor? cheap? easily persuaded?). Do this for sure if you can - it's AWESOME. read more

Expect to pay 90$ for insurance after you pay for$ 200or $300 for 20 laps and the lecture that just drag on on and on there is no way horsepower they claim those cars a lie it's has enough power to get you in trouble but in a straight a way punch I was bored jus my opinion it was slow has shit!!!overpriced overhyped over lecture glad it was a gift read more

I think they do most of their business via LivingSocial, TravelZoo, etc, as our group this past weekend all raised our hands when asked how we found out about LA Racing. -It can be hard to schedule weekend times. They continue to sell these packages, so finding a weekend can be hard. We had our vouchers for almost a year before finding a time that works. Look ahead if weekends are the only time that work for you. Also, check back as people back out and spots open up! -Insurance - Yes, they make you sign a waiver if you don't want it... and tell a few "horror" stories about people that have had to shell out big bucks. I have a feeling that most are a bit fabricated, as the environment you're in is pretty controlled. They also drill you on rules, do's, don'ts, etc during the class time. If I did it again, I'd pass on insurance. If you are a maniac, it's probably a good thing for you to purchase. -Get there early. We arrived at 7:40am for our 8am session. That put us in the last group... so we had to sit through 5 other groups (avg 20 min. session) before racing. If we were there a bit earlier, we would have raced earlier, and been out of there earlier. -Choose the earliest option available. It was getting warm during the 8am session... would hate to think about a 1pm session's heat. -On that note, bring an extra t-shirt, etc. You'll sweat pretty easily in the fire-suits... a quick t-shirt change made the drive home much more comfortable. -Staff is all super-friendly and helpful. The session itself went by quickly. You get out there and pretty soon it's over (for the 20 lap sessions). It is a good time though! While you're not in the gas for long down the straightaways, it still provides a good rush. Overall, it's a fun experience. I probably wouldn't pay full price on it though. Follow the other tips above and you'll have a good time. read more

This review is completely for their customer service- I'll update once my bf uses his experience. I bought a Groupon in Aug of 2012 (yeah, almost two years ago!) For my dad because he's always wanted to do it. Well almost two years of nagging later, he still hasn't used it! I decided to call them to see if I can still use it or if I'm just out $150 bucks.. just wanted to see my options. I called and spoke to this gal who explained the process of transferring the groupon to the "race pass" or whatever (i wish I had gotten her name). She was so friendly and answered my million questions and told me pretty much I was NOT S.O.L.!! yay!! I transferred that groupon to a race pass for my boyfriend, which he now has a year to schedule his experience. I honestly thought I was sh*t out of luck and wasted my money, I'm just glad that someone will get to enjoy it!! And I can't wait to go watch! read more

I purchased LA Racing through living social and the ticket was $150 for the class lecture and 20 laps. When you entered the gate, you can hear the Nascar exhaust. When you check-in, they offer you a $89 insurance coverage in case anything happen to their car. We went ahead and purchased it, but looking back. It was really such a waste of money. First, you get a spotter who is your ears and eyes. He talks to you the whole entire time while you're doing this 20 laps. They make sure they keep it a good instance between drivers. Second, the spotter will tell you to either drive faster or slower and he is constantly making sure you are safe at all time. Third, you are required to drive in the middle broken line at all times (staying on the line) unless the spotter asks you to move down for others to pass you. Lastly, if you get out of hand. The spotter will give you a warning and if you don't listen. You get kick out. What I am trying to say is unless you are a careless driver and you follow what the spotter asks you to do. You will drive safe and won't crash to the wall. Looking back, we could have safe ourselves $178. Just something to think about.... After check in, they will let you know what time to come back to the class room for the 45 - 50 mins lecture. This class lecture is extremely important because the instructor will give you tips and really talks about the track & turns. Don't be late. Once the class if over, the instructor will assigned groups. Each group has 4 drivers. When your group is called, you bascially walk outside to a tent where they suit you up with racing gear. They also assigned you to your car base on heights. I'm 5'3 and they put in their small car #48. I couldn't reach the pedal / brake. The guy had to place a nice fluffy pillow behind my back. When I got into the car, everything was a tight fit. After I was tighten fasten, that's when I could hear my own heart beat! Overall, I had a blast! The owners and his family & staffs were extremely nice. read more

Well it's been a year since I started turning laps at LA Racing and it has only gotten better each time. This very professional facility really looks out for your safety and the spotters really work with you to get you faster every laps. Even if this isn't on your bucket list you need to come out and strap yourself in to experience this adrenaline rush. Don't forget to buy another pass before you leave. If you don't you'll be online buying more due to your new addiction. Thanks LA Racing read more

The LA Racing Experience was enjoyable ONCE WE GOT BEHIND THE WHEEL but was not what we hoped it would be. The pre-driving class was comparable to sitting through a sales pitch for a time share when all you want is the freebie. Only this was many. many times worse. I know the $89 for insurance is a huge money maker for them but we were battered with countless pitches until I almost felt like walking out on my pass. Enough is enough is enough!!! That isn't the worst of it though. I know Dave does hundreds of those presentations and his style, which turned off everyone in our group, works for him. He prides himself on his commendable ability to remember the names of students. That included one in our group. Rudy was self conscious of his weight and almost didn't make the 135 mile trip from Santee. So what does Dave do? He singles Rudy out by name and points out his size might be an issue. Not in a serious way. He cracks wise that Rudy shouldn't worry because they will grease him up and shove him through the window. Way to stomp on a guy's self esteem, Dave!! To top it off, Rudy could not fit in the race suit, which was not LA Racing's fault but the situation was handled about as bad as humanly possible. We brought 5 drivers from Santee so LA Racing made their money off us, minus the $89 they could not bleed from us. Dave made what should have been A Thrill Ride into A Chill Ride. At the very least, they owe Rudy an apology! The Fontana Nascar Experience is head and shoulders better and you're not subjected to the nauseating insurance sales pitch! read more

This place was so much fun!! They strap you in to a real nascar after about an hour class and you're all geared up for some awesome racing action! They even talk to you through the microphone in your helmet like a real racecar driver. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves cars and speed! Thanks so much La Racing Team, you guys deserve the 5 star review! read more

LA Racing was amazing!!! I surprised my boyfriend with racing passes for his birthday and he said it was the best present he has ever received :) I got passes for both of us to drive. From the moment we arrived and met the instructor David, the experience was terrific. David spent about an hour with all the drivers explaining the rules of the track. He is very high energy and keeps you engaged the entire time. Safety is a huge priority here, as it should be, so I would have spent 2 hours in there if we needed to. When we finally got out to the cars we were so excited!!! The crew straps you in, makes sure you are confident and ready to go. I am glad they gave us a few slow laps to get a handle on the car. Once the green light came on, I was ready to go and had an amazing time!!! The 20 laps go by quickly, but it was some of the most fun I have had in a long time. When we finished my boyfriend and I both told each other we had to do this again! So we bought 2 more passes to come back (at $75 per person - they have a great deal when you buy more passes that day). Thank you LA Racing for a fabulous racing experience. Keep doing what you guys are doing!! Can't wait to come back and see you again soon :) On another note... the $89 insurance people are complaining about is definitely worth it. I would much rather have insurance than smash up a car and be out thousands of dollars, and the $89 insurance is clearly stated on their website so it was not a surprise to me on the day of. Seems to me the people who did not have a good experience here were the people who did not follow the rules... so just keep that in mind. I have no problem with people who are driving even slightly recklessly being kicked out so that the rest of us can have a safe and enjoyable experience, and I would hope everyone else feels the same way! read more

My girlfriend got me this as a Birthday present because she knows I love watching NASCAR. What a better gift than to actually drive a stock car! The people here are amazing and I have no complaints. They are very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable. This place is the best bang for your buck when you compare other race experiences. There is nothing like LA Racing, getting behind the race car by yourself and having awesome spotters guide you along the way. Ever since my girlfriend got me this I've been coming here almost every other weekend and they have helped me become faster on the track! read more

I'll keep my review short and sweet. If you have the chance to get out to LA Racing, take it. It's exciting and terrifying at the same time, the staff was friendly, and the upsells aren't as obnoxious as people are making it out to be. read more

AMAZING EXPERIENCE I can't say enough about LA Racing, what an awesome experience. My 2 Nd time racing a NASCAR around the track, and today I took my son and we raced together. It was just as awesome as the first time last year. The staff is amazing and very friendly. They are HIGH on Safety and want you to have a great time enjoying your experience. The price is well worth it, and you can buy the insurance but you aren't forced to and they don't bother you about it if you decide against it. I didn't buy it either time, but if it makes you more comfortable, then do it. I HIGHLY recommend LA Racing, you can't go wrong, you will LOVE IT!!!! Thanks LA Racing and a special Thanks to Dave, you rock, your a Great teacher. Kris Doyle read more

If you want a real race experience LA Racing at Irwindale raceway is the place to go. I got my money's worth. bought the discounted coupon.. great deal they did push the insurance a lot - didn't buy it.. all the staff were super friendly & helpful. golf cart rides to & from stands, drinks & snacks were provided too. it was a long day since we were in the last class, it was a hot sunny day, so they put shade tents in the stand. the races were excellent... a great time well worth the time & money.. bought discounted tickets to do it again...!! read more

SOOOOOO AWESOME! You get to drive a real race car! At first I was a little intimidated, they kinda freak you out but I think it's more to make to drive smart and not stupid. Once you get out there though it's totally fine...still a little scary driving the car yourself and driving that fast but that's what you pay for....right?! The staff was friendly and fun which only helped make the experience awesome. You also have a spotter telling you what to do most of the time so you kind of feel like you have an instructor in the car with you telling you what to do but you are totally in control. It's pretty amazing! The only reason why I give it 4 of 5 stars is because 1. they don't tell you about the "highly recommended" $89 insurance sales pitch, which still has a $2,500 deductible. 2. they try to sell your photos and videos like crazy (amusement park style) and it's pretty annoying. read more

Seriously, DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY on this! It was not as advertised. They won't let you really drive the car. If you have one person in the group that's faster and laps the other - the others in the group don't get to drive the full number of laps. And most importantly they will strong arm you into paying another $100 for insurance using scare tactics - when they fully know that you will not be allowed to actually drive the car at any real speed. What a bust. And, what a major rip off and disappointment. read more

Our neighbor treated us to a day at LA Racing and we can't believe how freaking awesome it was to drive a NASCAR on a NASCAR track! We did the 20 lap experience today. Yes, they do sell insurance if you wish to purchase it. We did not feel pressured or forced to buy it. After checking in you go thru a 55min safety course where they talk about what you need to know, what you can expect and emphasize safety. You drive the car all by yourself. You have ear buds and a pro is watching over giving you guidance on when to accelerate, let off, etc. It is an absolute BLAST and I definitely recommend giving this a whirl for a day of fun! read more

O.K. This was a good experience for me to learn what NOT to do on my birthday. I'm 5'4 and I couldn't reach the breaks! I was told to drive away from the other drivers at speeds of about 40 mph. It was a little like being in a sensory deprivation tank because your senses are al blocked including hearing, taste, touch, smell and it is damnable hot in those suits. I mean on the griddle HOT! Also, the sun was directly in my eyes most of the time. I definitely would not do this again. Oh, and skip the insurance that they scare you into buying, especially if you have bad credit. What can they do to you if you wreck the car, if your credit already sucks. Ask yourself that! Doug was an o.k. instructor but the 2 hour racing briefing was boring and filled with racer jargon. They should get a cheat sheet for the general public. Remember, you're WEARING the car, so if you have trouble climbing in and out f things, skip this experience. In fact, I would say skip it all together. It sort of sucked! Also, there were no pictures available or us on this day to commemorate our race. And the spectators are so far back, that they won't be able to take good pictures or vide of you without a professional telephoto lens. It's something to think about! You get a silly little certificate at the end, and they hawk more laps. It would have been better if I'd been on the track by myself and they didn't encourage a competition of passing with the drivers. Hell, I just wanted to drive fast. What a bus. When they asked if I wanted more laps at a discount of $100, I quipped, I wouldn't take more laps for FREE, let alone pay for it. read more

Soooo much fun!!! I went 3 days ago and still can't stop thinking about how awesome it is to drive those cars. The instructors are great, they make you want to pay attention and make it clear you're there to have a really good time but also be safe. My spotter was easy to understand and seemed like he wanted me to have the best possible time (mission accomplished). I was in the 4th group out of 5 so I got to watch a few people drive before me which I think is best if you're a first time driver cause you get to see that the system actually works if you listen. People who don't give this place 5 stars can't be trusted! By the way, you're a fool if you don't buy the insurance. read more

The people are great and the track is awesome. Ozzie and Samantha have been particular helpful. As a former technical driver for high end photography, I thought this would be a cakewalk. The cars and the track take some accumulation, but once your dialed in, you will loved it. I am taking my friend next month for his birthday and I cant wait to get that picture once he gets done with his laps. Highly recommended!!! PS Listen to your spotter, they will get you faster with each lap... read more

I just got back from LA RACING! What a thrill!! 20 laps goes by fast, but it is really fun. Everyone on here complains about the insurance add on. I bought it, and when you go through turns 3 and 4, you will be happy you did too! Theses cars are legit. You can go as fast as you want. Spotters are really cool and they really help you around the track. I was worried about the classroom time, and it was kind of boring, but everything they went over was totally helpful once you get in the car and start driving. The only suggestion that I would give them is to have the ability to tell the drivers how fast they went, and what their lap times were. If K-1 can do it, I am sure that these guys could figure that out. I can see where it would not be that fun if you were a slow driver, driving with fast drivers. My friend was slower than the rest of us, and he spent a lot of time down at the bottom of the track waiting to be passed. Make sure that you get put into a group of people that are equal to you, or slower than you, you will have way more fun. Overall, great time. read more

Don't do it. They try to sell you $89.00 insurance policy for a what they say is a $50,000.00 super late model. BS, it's a $15,000.00 late model at best. In the class room they talk about holding strings and crushing eggs. Whatever. If you've driven any type of stock car, you will be dissapointed. The cars are automatics with crate motors. If I hear "stay on the white line" one more time!!! read more

Contrary to what some others have said, I loved my experience with L.A. Racing. It was a completely fun and exhilarating experience and I will do it again. The people complaining about them upselling are cheap. This is a business and they are selling your experience to remember. Disneyland and every theme park does the same thing. And they should. I've never raced before and highly recommend L.A. Racing to anyone wanting a fun and different experience. read more

I used my pass today at the L.A. racing track and I gotta say my experience was of high disappointment. I paid a lot of money for my pass and i don't think I was given a fair trade. I was given a truck to drive and that's not what I signed up for. It was slow, too high up, not even close to what i wanted to experience. I wanted to drive a car. If I had known ahead of time I was going to drive a louzy truck I would have not spent the money. The track is super small. It took me twelve minutes to go around 20 times and I was writting at 65mph. That how small it was. Plus, when you get there they hit ya with another $90 bucks for insurance. I advice you to save your money. Totally NOT worth it. read more

My wife purchased me a race for my birthday. You need to go online and sign up for a race pass then you can book your time. Like everyone else I waited until the month of expiration, and the company actually called me and told me it was going to expire. That was a nice touch since I'm sure most retailers love to see a group-on expire. I just used my Race pass today and I can't believe I dragged my feet so long before I used it. The staff were all really friendly. I decided not to purchase the insurance since my wife had told me it probably wasn't necessary, apparently she read some reviews. I will say I probably would have felt more comfortable going into the turns had I purchased it. Like I said the staff, everyone of them was more than helpful. It was pretty hot today at least high 80's and even the employees working on the hot track were very friendly. You can read the other reviews for the whole description of events. Here are a few things which I would have liked to known, the cars are 100% automatic. If you don't know the other drivers which I went solo be prepared to do a lot of passing, if they don't have any driving experience (not that I have ever raced a vehicle like this, but I have owned many off road vehicles, and sports cars). I have had some claustrophobic issues and in the class they mention that you might feel claustrophobic while in the car. I didn't have any issues so I wouldn't stress. I would recommend showing up early so you're not in the last class, however if you show up first you will be the first group to race and won't have time to watch how everything works. What I was most impressed with is that while racing the guy on the other end of your earpiece actually encourages you to push the car harder and faster. Had I not had him in my ear I wouldn't have known how capable these cars are. At the end I had the option to purchase more race passes at a discount rate, and I gladly took them up on that offer. From start to finish this was a great experience. Way to go LA Racing! read more

Had a great time Sunday with LARacing. Yes they do post the $89 insurance very hard but it is still your call. I didn't buy it and had no problem; but that was me. As long as you listen to AND abide by the instructions/rules you will be fine. Yes scheduling can be difficult. I had my cert. over a year before I went. If you do like gambling but can't make it to Vegas, come on down to LA Racing! This place can either be fun or feel like a total scam, it all depends on the employees that you deal with. The insurance issue: I was a first time driver and was super excited to get behind the wheel of a racecar. My boyfriend and I were asked during check-in if we had purchased insurance. We said no and the employee simply said, "ok." It wasn't until orientation that we were truly intimidated and bullied over the insurance issue. The employee that gave the presentation was absolutely manic and had the crazy energy of someone who does lines of coke in the back office. He spoke like an auctioneer and made it near impossible to understand the few seconds he spent on actual driving instructions. But you bet your butt he made sure you understood everything he said about the insurance. I am all for safety and definitely agree that this business should take it seriously. But this guy crossed a line. He spent the definite majority of the hour long "orientation" sharing stories and photos of crazy accidents and bills and super sad, broke people. Apparently he and the other employees get together at Christmas and watch that year's blooper reel for fun. How merry. Here's an idea, if so many people are crashing their cars in the first place, how about you cut the number of people on the track and/or focus on actual driving safety? They'll never do that because it won't bring in the same amount of money. The employee made me so anxious that we bit the bullet and bought the insurance. As soon as we bought it the employees all stopped paying attention to us. We had already given them what they wanted. The driving: Regardless of experience, every single driver was supposed to get at least 3 practice laps around the track before we got up to racing speed. I was the only one in my group of drivers that had never driven a racecar before. They queued me to be the very last driver to pull out onto the track. Before I had even made it halfway around, they said that the practice laps were over. So at this point a manic employee had done his best to convince me that I was basically guaranteed to crash, pressured me into buying pricey insurance, and I hadn't been given my full practice laps. Not the best setup for the enjoyable and exciting experience that it should have been. It took me most of my laps to feel comfortable and actually start to enjoy the experience. And then it was over. As you exit back into the gift shop, you pass through the orientation room. When we left there was already another group sitting through the same lecture. The presenter was a different employee who was speaking like a normal, non coke-using human being who seemed to actually be teaching people instead of practicing for his audition for The Wolf of Wall Street. Things would have been so much better if we had been in that second group. Another thing, when I called to make the reservations the guy that helped set everything up was pretty rude. I'm not one to get offended, but he said things like, "yeah, and be sure to leave your high heels at home." Seriously? There were a couple other comments like that. All in all what should have been light hearted fun turned out to be an expensive blackspot on a trip to LA. If you do book this, don't let these people shake you down. read more

This was a birthday present for my boyfriends 50th birthday and at first I was unable to get a session booked for his actual birthday but with my persistance and Samantha's great assitance he was actually able to experiece it on his birthday! Took my husband here for his birthday! As a surprise! I was so nervous because I wasn't sure he'd be up for it. However, the staff and instructor were really helpful, fun and knowledgeable. The class prior to racing was really nerve racking because they enforce the safety and the warnings because you ARE racing on your own and there are rules to follow because there are three other cars racing with you. Once my husband got in the car, he had a blast! He loved the spotter talking to him in his ear giving him directions and treating him like they were in a real NASCAR race! It felt thrilling and real he said! The adrenaline was amazing and he felt safe. They really prep you to have the best time. I suggest doing the 8am class as it gets really hot in the car. I also suggest wearing shorts under your suit with tennis shoes and socks that cover your ankles and a light T-Shirt. You are provided with a full racing suit to go over. I also suggest, prepping your loved one rather than surprising them so they can be prepared for what they are about to do! Haha! In the end it was awesome, but leading up was nerve racking. My husband was so happy, he bought another race for the future! He wanted to gift it to someone else because the experience was so amazing, which I attribute to the staff and the real NASCAR experience! read more

LA Racing - My husband about to take off! - Arcades Near Me - Irwindale, California

We went as a group of four and we are already planning another Race Day. We arrived in the morning, were welcomed by the staff, had a great classroom experience and we were on the race track. How awesome to race your friends in a race car. The support staff during the race were on point and pushed us to drive fast!!! Every staff member we met was professional and friendly. We are going to race in two weeks and can't wait to hit the track again. read more

Cool experience. Love the speed. Regarding insurance, my friend almost crashed the car. So it's your choice get it or not. If interested, see my pictures or read my story about my racing at LA Racing: http://eugenesulyma.blogspot.com/2012/08/nascar-my-racing-experience-at-la-racing.html read more

Wife bought me a package for my birthday, and it started out well. I got on the track and was developing a good rhythm. Around lap 9 or so the spotter tells me to go high, which I did, and ended up banging into the wall. After this, it all went downhill, as I had to wait around for an hour, and was not given an opportunity to explain what happened. I then paid, and left, and was not in a frame of mind to dispute the charges, which were just presented matter of factly. Unless you have the cost of the class, plus the 89 fee, plus $2500 for the deductible, be wary. read more

The best experience anyone can experience I'm very addicted to this great Track. Doug is a great instructor you will leave out the class with great knowledge of driving a late model stock car. Ozzie, Jason, Evette superb & Samantha are very good in a professional way with customer services skills. They make me feel at home. I found a new home so should you. The spotters also are good always listen to them and don't think you know more than any of them. My recommendation please purchase the $89 Insurance, mishaps can happen. So be safe and do the right thing. Thanks LA Racing love you all. Matthew thank you for helping me along. In response to Matthew B. comment below no pun intended. Their cars are very well and maintained it has so many horses under the hood. Try it again bro. PS Hugo & Ozzie thanks so much for introducing me to LA Racing love you all once again. My spotters always make sure to tell me when to accelerate and release off the gas pedal with that being said I'm getting faster & faster. Feeling excited ;) the best out there. ~J.B.~ read more
