One of my favorite things is to visit a place that has low reviews and have a great experience. Well, that is not the case. I want to start off by calling the staff is extremely nice and maybe the only positive thing about our stay. I wasn't hoping for much, it was 79 a night for a last minute booking after being stuck in a snowstorm. I thought what could be so bad driving 4 more hours and getting into town around 4 am after a 21 hour drive or bite the bullet for 1 night.... Everything you read is true - the floors are gross and old, the walls are falling apart there is a smell you can't pin point. So my point is - how dose this happen? How does a company have a hotel with so much despair? Don't they don check in of all their hotels? We often stay at La Quintas and I don't expect much (but for waffles) - so how did this location end up in such ruin and why isn't the company aware. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. 1) The room came with complementary piss in the toilet. 2) The piss was there because the toilet wouldn't flush. 3) Only half the door latch was there. Meaning you couldn't latch the door. 4) TV remote did not work. 5) Turning on the TV at the TV only allowed one station, the start up screen. No other channels. 6) There were stains on the rooms carpet and in the hallways. Why did I stay there you might ask? Well, it was 12:30am and I had just drove 8 hours straight. I'm 70 years old and I was exhausted! I laid down on the bed with my clothes on. After seeing the disgusting condition of the room I didn't trust the bedding. I slept in my cloths. At 6:30 I was awakened by the worse urine smell ever! I got up and left. I couldn't take it any longer. I meant a couple outside that was also leaving early. They said their latch was also broken and that they used the ironing board to wedge against the door. They said it was the worst room they have ever been in. At 9am I called Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, the parent company to complain. After I explained about my terrible night she wanted to know, "other than that, how was your room?" I said, isn't that enough, did I need a dead body!? She said that I will get a response via my email in a few days. read more

Gaged on the way to the room. Hall reeked of must. Stained everywhere. Our popcorn ceiling was dropping. Shower walls had dirt. Coffee marker had junk which fell into the cup. Stay away from this hotel! It should be CONDEMNED for fire code & building code infractions. The very worst hotel experience in our many many years of travel. Pulled in late at night in the pouring rain after 12 hours on the road and a flat tire. Would have immediately run out of there but we are seniors and we were exhausted. The hotel common areas were disgusting: horribly stained carpets; inadequate lighting in breakfast room; inedible breakfast with rock-hard bagels. The rooms (we demanded that we be moved from the first one) were in total disrepair: holes is the walls & ceilings; uncovered electrical fixtures; filthy. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. We called the front desk and they said not to worry about it!?! WYNDHAM HOTELS refuses to take any responsibility for their hotels and said that they are not responsible for their franchised establishments. And then, 3 months after our stay (we were there at the end of Oct./23), in Jan./24, the hotel fraudulently used my credit card for a transaction! read more

The hotel is run down and dirty. Wyndham needs to pull their franchise license. Room carpets are stained and nasty. One of the beds was missing a foot so it was not level. Dresser drawers don't stay closed. Air conditioner doesn't cool the room. Outside, people urinating in the parking lot. The front desk told me they feel the pictures on the website looks like a nice clean hotel but should be listed as false advertising. I booked a reservation with two beds and a pullout bed for five people...yeah that is not what I got. The receptionist didn't even confirm the room with the two beds I booked. The room had one bed, smelled bad, looked like it hasn't been cleaned right. Not to mention that the hotel is under renovation but wow, rooms shouldn't be that bad even during renovations and the room booked should be confirmed before giving the keys. read more

we only needed one night to rest and end up being a nightmare full of roaches. Couldn't even finish our night here ended up leaving . The toilet flooded and they didn't bother to come and check on us only gave us extra towels. We asked for a different room and they said they didn't have any extra two bed room. Been driving for 14 hours on my way home to New Hampshire from Texas. Stopped in Jackson, hotel I usually used was no longer there. Always had pleasant stays at La Quintas, including one in Rockwall, Texas this trip, so I chose this one . HUGE MISTAKE. First, ithe person on the front desk had no clue what he was doing. He said it was his firts night, but he was alone, so had to keep calling someone just to check me in. Took forty five minutes. There was a sign at the desk saying No smoking in rooms or lobby, but the entire pace reeked of stale cigarette smoke. There was a jar with ashed in it on the front counter. But I was tired, so figured one night wouldn't be that bad. The lobby was filthy. Finally got my keys, used the stairs to get to my 2nd floor room Rug disgusting, trash everywhere. When I reached my room, the key wouldn't work. That was the last straw. Went back to the lobby, asked for a refund, and left. I was the 2nd person to do that. It's impossible to describe how disgustsing this place is. A New York City fleabag hotel would have been cleaner. Do not stay here no matter how desperate you are. Literally the most disgusting and unsafe hotel I've ever stayed at. I felt less clean after my shower than before - that's how dirty this place is. There are homeless camps right off of the parking lot and people using drugs right outside the building. The carpet has never been cleaned and was so stained. The toilets don't flush, the deadbolt didn't work and it's overall just an awful hotel. Staff are almost never at the front desk so you can't get help and the "breakfast" is abysmal. Literally just cereal and stale bagels. I should have read these reviews before booking but it was super late and I needed a place to sleep after 12 hours of driving. This hotel doesn't even look like the pictures. It's horrible we were driving 24 hours and decided to stop because neither one of us could drive any further. If we could've found a different hotel we would have but we were so tired the only thing that I give this Hotel A star for is at the front desk. Staff was actually very nice. However, nobody was around when we checked out at 5 AM to get back on the road. The room was disgusting almost put my hand through the wall. Since staying here, I've read some of the reviews and am kicking myself for not reading them ahead of time. The state of the hotel was quite disappointing. Let me be clear, my expectations were managed, as this was a hotel off the highway, in a small town. I was forgiving of some things. For example, the building is old and desperately needs to be updated. This is not the fault of the employees. They have no control over this. However, the dirty lobby floors, unvacuumed or shampooed rugs, mold on the room ceiling, and the rude front desk staff are absolutely manageable by the employees. One reason I chose LaQuinta is because I know that they are pet friendly. I booked through Booking.com and searched both their website and the hotel website for a pet fee. I didn't find one. When I arrived I signed papers with the rate of the room that I'd agreed to on Booking.com. However, when I looked at my credit card statement days later, my bills as $20 higher. This made me angry. I decided to contact corporate and ended up getting refunded a significant portion of my hotel fee. Needless to say I'm an advocate of always asking for good customer service. You never know what you'll get when your willing to simply ask. read more

Perfect pit stop on my 20 hour road trip! The ac was strong, the service was great! I got a good shower; soap, shampoo and towel were provided by the motel. It had tv, that had some cable. Wifi was free and decent speed. I got some needed sleep and was on my way. The facility isn't the cleanest, but I good deal. I would stay again. read more

TLDR: My husband put a towel down in the tub just to take a shower and I slept on a sleeping bag instead of under the covers. This hotel attracts the wrong type of attention. If you have a family with little ones, I would steer clear. This hotel is an overpriced disaster. From the outside, you really can't tell how terrible it is inside. I don't expect all the amenities, but I do expect a place where I feel comfortable sleeping and taking a shower. Upon arrival, a man came into the lobby with his clothes in a trash bag and not knowing where he was. He asked to use the phone and waited in the lobby where he paced the whole time while waiting for his ride. The bathroom appeared dirty like it wasn't properly cleaned from the tenant prior and the beds had no life left to them. The hotel appears to be flipped except the carpet, beds, and smoke smell were left behind. The pool and spa were drained (which is probably a good thing). My husband ended up putting a towel down in the tub because he didn't have flip flops to wear while showering and I slept on top of a sleeping bag. While visiting family on another floor, we noticed someone had dropped a half eaten apple by the elevator because they don't have any trash cans in the hallways. read more

Absolute disaster!! Thought this was a regular LA Quinta, but ... surprise. From first walking into the lobby, this place is filthy and falling apart. Staff is very nice, but absolutely no clue what they are doing. Carpet throughout is so dirty you can't tell what color it was originally. My assigned room was barely made, carpet dirty, no working phone, and missing the shower head and piping!! After moving to a new room, atleast the shower and a/c worked, but the carpet and entire room was disgusting!! If I hadn't arrived so late, should have found a new hotel. Horrible! I don't recommend staying here. Dirty, dirty, dirty! Positives were that we had beds to sleep in, air conditioning, and hot water. Negatives were everything else. When we arrived at 7:30 pm, we waited in the lobby for 15 minutes for someone to finally come to the window. The carpets throughout the hotel are nasty and stained and it stinks. When the attendant did finally come, there was no apology or explanation and he was very rude, then he proceeded to give us a room that had never been cleaned. Both beds were unmade and there was garbage strewn throughout the room. When we went back to tell him, again no apology, and he just rolled his eyes and sighed like WE were the problem. At this point, if we had not already paid and it was late at night, I would have left! We went up to the room and even though the beds were made, we found hair in the sheets, a bug on the bed and filthy carpets that didn't seem to have been vacuumed or shampooed in a while (the carpets need to be replaced, especially in the hallway). There was hair in the shower, only 2 towels instead of three (our reservation was for 3), no shampoo, the bathroom door wouldn't close right, dirt and hair on the bathroom floor, the toilet would only flush occasionally and the ceiling near the door was messed up. This is my 2nd bad experience with a Wyndham hotel in 2 months and am definitely thinking about looking at another chain. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The whole place was in disrepair. The floors were nasty throughout the hotel. The tile floor looked like it was never cleaned. The carpet looked like it hasn't been cleaned since the 80s. There was mold all over the bathroom. The ceiling looked like it was fixing to cave in over the desk. The water in the shower never got hot. They tried to patch paint the walls with Ea different color. ACdidn't work well. There are two La Quintas in Jackson Tennessee. The one I'm talking about is just off I40 approaching from the west. We arrived later in the day in Jackson Tennessee. This La Quinta was the first place we could find that accepted pets. As we walked in there was a woman leaving because her room was filthy. We should have taken notice but we had been driving nearly 12 hours and were exhausted. The door bottom slide rail entering the building had cigarette butts in the tracks. The counter where you signed your paper work had a sticky big sugary ring. The office was visible and had an overflowing trash can full of drive through cartons and coke cans. We accepted this, hoping for better luck with the room. We got off the elevator on the third floor. The area around the elevator had been painted by what looked like a third grader. There were multiple roof tiles missing or cracked. The exit sign had been pulled down and was stuck back in the wall. The walls were greasy. We went into the room and stripped the bed. We found a clean mattress and bedding and a acceptable bathroom. The carpet throughout the building was dirty and stained. We left our shoes on everywhere but the bathroom and just before we got into bed. The next morning at 5:45 I went out to check on my truck and warm it up. It appeared that no one was at the desk. When I reentered the building and came down again with luggage, a night clerk staggered out of the office and tried to greet me with wrinkled clothes and his hair eschew. We have used Wyndham and La Quinta several times in the past but this was beyond the pale. We use a newer La Quinta in Virginia the following night (having a small dog limits options) and got a nice room in a clean motel and a good price. Old, cramped hotel with newer tvs and bedding. Decent size room, smaller bathroom. Bed was old and as another reviewer mentioned sank and was of poor quality. Smells old and musty. Fairly clean room. Unfortunately, it was quite noisy. One of the housekeepers was even beating on the wall in the hallway and said she was doing maintenance. Strange. Rough nights sleep with such an uncomfortable bed. Breakfast had "run out" by 8am. There was no coffee. We stay at LaQuintas all over the US , this one was a real disappointment. Would not stay again. read more

This place is nasty! Yeah, they take pets but people that don't have pets don't want to smell the pets. Plaster falling off the ceiling, carpets with stains, bunched up carpet (because it's old and stretched out), mold on the bathroom ceiling, pool is broken in the middle of summer, chair had 2 holes in it, and that's describing 2 DIFFERENT rooms! Second room I got "upgraded" to a "deluxe" room, which is $10 more and the upgrade is a tiny microwave and a small fridge. I was reaffirmed that I wouldn't pay the $10. Solid three stars. Just got back from a 2-night stay in Jackson as we were visiting Henderson for a conference. Henderson is 30 minutes away, on a pretty direct road from the hotel. The hotel staff was efficient. They were the best part of this stay. Totally had their stuff together and the rooms, when we arrived, were ready to go. We booked on Priceline. The rooms needed a facelift. I have stayed in worse rooms, but this one is on the verge of needing some investment from the company. The TV was a nice Samsung, and once I got to sleep, I didn't notice the room too much. The bed was firm, but not rock hard, and the 5 pillows on the bed all had a varying firmness to them. Room service did come in and clean my room after night #1, which was nice. Breakfast was a bit rough - which was disappointing because I love it when a hotel serves a nice breakfast. It's one of the reasons why I book hotels with Continental Breakfasts. They had waffles (self-serve/make) with syrup. The waffle mix was not very good, and the whipped butter and syrup needed an upgrade to a better brand. They had cups (small) of strawberry yogurt, some fruit and then cereal. There were a few pastries, but I was really hoping for something pre-made, like eggs or breakfast sausage. They did not have these types of these items. Regardless, I have stayed in rougher hotels, and I have slept on worse beds. This was a solid 3 stars, which is probably what you are expecting if you book at a 2-star hotel. There was an empty outdoor pool which looked like it was under construction or perhaps just... empty. I didn't look around too much more. The rooms were fairly quiet and only heard a few footsteps (or what I hope were footsteps) in the night. read more

After a 12 hour drive I had to make a stop. I picked this hotel because it accepts dogs without extra fees. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by a very nice lady with short blonde hair didn't catch her name but she was very helpful and even recommended places to get some dinner. The rooms are clean and supplied with all the basic necessities. It's not a 5 star hotel but it better than a lot of inns I saw driving here. Gave a 5 star for their friendliness and cleanliness. Pool and Spa were empty and under construction. Carpet and Floors were dirty and sticky. The bathtub did not drain. The walls were very dirty where people would typically put their hands. The decor was very last minute and out of date. One day they didn't even come in to clean our room. All they did was put some new towels in here and then leave. The hallway especially smells like dog urine. Paint and popcorn ceiling look like they're peeling off. Air conditioning was Extremely Loud. The television is so low on the dresser that when you lay in bed you can't see it over your toes. read more

After they finally did the older front desk lady said we should be ashamed of living in that room and insulted us it was embarrassing. We got confrontational and told her what we thought. The rooms are 1980s, beds all worn out, found a vibrating massager under the bed, lamps and fridge unplugged, someone smokes in the room and is clearly evident. First the positive, the room was clean, the room was quiet and the staff was friendly. The negative, the hotel is dated, the breakfast is very basic and as of 11/01/19 they started charging a $20 pet fee. The room was $71 plus $20 for a pet fee for a total of $91. For $91 there are a lot of nicer options in the area. Would consider staying there again for $71 but never again for $91. read more

Though it may look like a rougher hotel, on the inside it's not so bad, especially for the price!! Only true down side is they allow pets, which some tend to bark and carry on late at night, but that's not really the hotels fault. The beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. Last time I was in there they were remodeling (updating) which I'm glad to see because it really is a gem of a place to stay. The people behind the desk are also very helpful and friendly, and will accommodate most any request! The Free Breakfast is good, for a free on the go breakfast!
