First off, the beach is beautiful. The sand is powdery soft, the water is warm and a perfect turquoise color, but calm enough for my young kids to swim. There is seaweed, but it isn't bad. Unfortunately, the second (last) time we came, the water was absolutely full of tiny particles of trash. You simply couldn't avoid it, and it was super gross. I only went in the water for 10 minutes, though I normally would have loved to swim for hours. My kids had bits of plastic in their hair and under their bathing suits after their own swims. Yuck.
The beach club is fine. There's a mix of palapas, umbrellas, and canopies for shade, but that does cost extra (see below). The lounge chairs are nothing special but do the job. Food and drinks are decent. Quality of service is very dependent on who your server is - Amado was fantastic, but the server on our second visit was not. There's plenty of free parking, and you can park close if you arrive early - be aware the dirt road in is eroded and very bumpy though. We never used the bathrooms. I felt value was pretty good:
- If you simply want beach access to put your towel down, 50 pesos per person.
- if you want to use the club for restaurant service, it's 200 pesos per adults, 100 per child, but think of it as a deposit because this is deducted from your final bill.
- to rent lounge chairs, it's an extra 120 pesos per chair, and only on the second visit did they tell us we could return those wristbands for 40 pesos back. read more
