This is the second time I have eaten lunch at La Plancha. The first time was during the summer when the weather was warm, and they offered a nice outdoor seating area under a canopy. This time, was my first time inside. Inside, the restaurant area is small, and has a modern, trendy vibe. The menu's are an interesting mix of coat hanger meets glass. The food both times was good, but didn't pass the price to quality test that I have in Switzerland. It's a given, eating out in Switzerland is pricier than most are used to, but, is the food worthy of the price? This place didn't pass that test. The first time I was here, I saw everyone ordering the burger. It looked amazing, but I couldn't bring myself to pay over 30 francs for a burger. This time, I gave in, and had high hopes, since the presentation of the food on the plate is fantastic. But, I am not paying for food art, in the end, our taste buds and stomachs have the final vote. So what was the final word from the senses?
Smell - Yummy
Eyes - Patiently watched everyone else get their beautifully presented plates of food, and waited for a bit too long to finally see the delicious cheesy burger delivered to them.
Taste- Disappointed after all the build up, but the meat was good, and the fries had looked crunchy, but were a tad to soggy.
Ears - noise level OK at first, but in the midst of the meal they turned on some annoying loud dance club music, which did not encourage my friends and I to stay for an espresso that we had been thinking about ordering.
Touch - Didn't like the feel of passing 37 CHF away to the server for only 1 burger and a bottle of coke light. read more
