i've eaten at this place like over 100 times and it sucks every time. why have i eaten here so many times you ask? good question. because it's right by my mom's house and whenever we're over there nobody can think or what to get to eat so eventually they make me order and pick up food from here. i dont understand how this place messes up the simplest dishes? i used to get some of their "signature" pasta and chicken dishes but it always is so terrible so i've just been dumbing it down. few weeks ago i got freakin rigatoni a la vodka. dis-gus-ting. tonight i dumbed down even more and ordered fettucine alfredo like a goddamn 10 year old. it was so freakin bad. like how do you mess that up? so bland i dont even think they put salt in it. jesus. like it tasted like pasta swimming in a few ounces of half and half. i bet that wouldnt even taste as bland and dumb as this did. pasta fagioli soup freakin sucks too btw. read more

La Piazza's Plainview location could very well be the busiest, most hectic and stressful pizza/Italian eatery in the world, especially during prime takeout and dining hours, when the locals descend on the place and stack the front counter 3 or 4 deep, jostling for position and space. But there's a reason for the nightly scrum. The food is absolutely magnificent. I actually stopped patronizing the place a few years ago due to the aggravation, but I'm so glad I returned the other night. From the excellent pizza to Italian staples like chicken parmigiana, lasagna, meatballs, and its extraordinary array of pasta dishes, La Piazza really delivers in flavor and volume. The menu, however, offers so much more. Highly recommend veal cutlet smothered with a mound of wholesome, flavorful bruschetta. If salad's your thing, the Tuscan Bistro salad with grilled skirt steak is extraordinary, both the salad, itself, and the steak. The veal cutlet and skirt steak were so tender and delicious the other night it was almost shocking. But then I remembered how much I used to enjoy the grilled chicken, so I guess I shouldn't have been shocked. They really know how to what they do well. Definitely will try one of the fish filet dishes that looked so delicious on the table next to me. It really takes some stamina to deal with the crowd, bustle, and sometimes brusque service, but I've come to the conclusion it's worth it once in a while. read more

Stopped here while in town for a funeral ~ what a find! Casual Italian dining at its finest. Courteous staff, good house wines by the glass, excellent fresh salad greens, and the best Chicken Francese I've ever eaten. You'll be happy you came! read more

I really love there pastas and pizza. This place is really good for a spot in Long Island a lot of other places serve trash food around here. Which is why this place stands out above everything else. They also have a good variety of fresh bread that they serve. The service is always on point they make it a point to the get the food to you in a efficient and timely matter. I went to there other spot in Melville was not feeling it, this one is much better. Shrimp gamberi is what I like with fri diavalo sauce. It's spicy but very good. read more

Went here for lunch with another family with our kids and we had some leftovers packed up to go. One of the waiters handed out the leftovers telling us each what they were. When we got home and opened the bag they had given us the wrong food. My son was really looking forward to finishing his pasta and was so disappointed when he open the bag to find a salad. I called the restaurant to let them know what happened so they could talk with the staff about it. The manager I spoke to was so rude and said it wasn't his problem and that I had to work it out with the other family. Who by the way were 2 hours into their trip back to Vermont. I really wasn't looking for anything from them just to let them know what happens but I just can't believe how nasty this man was on the phone. He obviously did not want my return business and I do not recommend the place for this and I didn't think the food was anything special. Real New York style pizza and great buffalo chicken. Fantastic atmosphere. Will visit again if back in the area. My order of a slice of mushrooms and sausage and a buffalo chicken roll was near closing time and rewarmed out of the display, but it was very good and ready in minutes. read more

Ordered 11 assorted pizzas and a large caesar salad tray for take out for our soccer team. We were staying at a nearby hotel. The take out line was a big crazy and chaotic, but the pizza was very good and so was the casear salad. We would do it again! read more

Since my initial review, the counter people are far more polite and the pizza and other food has been consistently good - very good. No more pizza that's sometimes burnt on the bottom. I guess the management reads Yelp. read more

I was in La Piazza for a cold Antipasto and a couple of slices of pizza with a friend. Haven't been there for awhile wonder if it had gotten bad. The Antipasto salad the salami ham pepperoni was chopped up so fine you couldn't even taste it. Never asked for it chopped waiter said that's how they give it to you. So small no taste a small amount of cheese mostly lettuce. Just terrible worse than a cafeteria. Bread was hard like a rock. Returned it and they gave me more hard old bread. Wasn't having a great meal, pizza was just OK. Then I get the bill I see they charged me $3.60 plus tax for a slice. I had to say something. They said well if you got up and brought the pizza to your table yourself it would be $2.70 because we brought it to you it was more. You know what take this place and shove it. Never going back. For my money don't need week old bread cafeteria salad and a $3.60 regular slice that was horrible. read more

Whenever I am in the mood for pizza this is where I go. Office lunches etc yes. My fav is the buffalo chicken pizza. The restaurant aspect of it, I would give a 4 star because they are not always on point but right now I am happy with my pizza and the servers. read more

I have the same impression of the manager, this time a female, at this location, which has been described by others when it came to trying to order with a different type of pasta. The place is very busy so I guess they don't care about being polite to customers when a change is requested. I have lived in town for about thirty years and regretfully the level of arrogance at this location in its female manager is appalling, especially when i was effectively called a liar. There will come a day where mediocrity of the food will lead to a need to be polite to keep business, but that day has not come yet. I believe the issues are solely driven by the managers who are on and not the staff, that is often apologetic about a wait for food, which tonight took over 50 minutes to get. read more

The pizza is good but everything else has way too much garlic! Especially the grilled chicken dishes! They have really good Margarita Pizza especially the Bar Pies (personal sized pizza). I will never go back to either La Piazza location. The guy ( short, middle aged) working behind the counter was super weird and rude when I went to pick up a take out order. Before I even said anything, he reached across the counter and took the money I was holding in my hand. He had no idea what I had ordered or why I was even there and he took the money from my hands with a smirk on his face. It was just really bizarre. Then when he handed me my change, I reached out to take it and he held on to the dollar bill so I couldnt take it from him. I'm an easy going, fun person and I'm used to people messing/joking around, but this was diffferent. It was just really strange and he seemed to enjoy that he was making me feel uncomfortable. I hope the owners see this and realize that I am probably not the only person who has had an experience like that with this guy. read more

The food is okay, but the service is very poor and the cashiers are clueless. I had ordered a veggie pizza and kindly requested for hot sauce or Tabasco sauce and the cashier looks at me like he didn't know what hot sauce was. Mind you I've ordered the same pizza for months with hot sauce on the side. I asked the gentleman again and acted as if he didn't understand English and started to speak with an Italian accent. I realized after that he had refused to give me hot sauce because he was too busy flirting with another customer. The manager was a witness to the whole thing and didn't even bother to assist me. They have a tendency of ruining orders when they're called in. I'm sorry I have to pull this card but I felt discriminated. I work for a big company and I'm known as the dining pro, one thing is for sure I will never recommend this place. Word of mouth can work in your favor or it work against you. read more

Have only attempted take out here once based on a recommendation of a coworker. Called to order a salad with grilled chicken and was told it would be about 20 minute until the order was ready. I arrived about 30 minutes after I called. When I said I was there to pick up my salad order, the guy behind the counter rolled his eyes and said it would be a few more minutes. I sat there for 25 additional minutes while no one acknowledged I was there, no one kept me informed of whether my order was in progress, and no one was checking in with the kitchen to see where my order was. Only after I threatened to leave without paying because my lunch hour was over did they bring my order out. When I went to pay, a waitress cut in front of me rudely to get change. The guy behind the counter simply said the price, did not apologize for my wait, did not offer the common pleasantries a customer would expect. The salad was stale, had wilted veggies, and was likely just out of the bag you get from grocery stores. For the prices they charge here (which are extremely high given all the other pizza places around) I can't justify going back again based on customer service and food quality read more
