I've been coming here forever since I was a kid, always love their pizza. Only problem is it's never crispy enough for me. Tony, Marvin, Luis hold it down. They pump it in and out always moving fast paced. It's always packed and the dining room is always packed. The Thai chili chicken slice should be a regular. It slaps! I also miss their chicken bacon ranch slice with the chipotle, they need to bring that back.

Ten-year review update: La Piazza is still excellent but now that there are more locations, there are differences between them and still room for improvement compared to sister restaurant Mama Theresa's Garden City Park. If this is your first time, the two restaurants are very similar, i.e., they have the sweetest, most balanced marinara, making any dish with them delightful (see my chicken parm photos below). But since we're longtime customers, let's talk improvements: The modern chic. It only works where the function isn't impeded. Look at this video of the dressing pourer. It goes everywhere but the salad. The square plates aren't great for the smaller tables. You keep every inch of that place packed, so why lose space on corners when the rounded dishes work so well? The serviceware is a step back from Mama T's.

Excellent slice shop and Italian restaurant in Plainview long island. Got their plain round pie well done and a buffalo chicken pie and both were excellent. Undercarriage was well done and ingredients were high quality.

So, a few buddies of mine highly recommended "La Piazza" in Plainview. They said this place was the best. Because of that glowing recommendation, I had to check it out; but be careful what you recommend. I arrived to a huge parking he lot, so there was plenty of space to park. The outside of the building looked a bit strange, they went with an older look. But inside was another story. I barely walked in before being greeted by the staff. They were so friendly. We joked a bit before I placed my order. I was a little shocked about the price per pizza, but I was hungry so I had to eat. They charged more for credit card swipes, but this is supposed to be amazing pizza. I sat down to eat and to my surprise, none of my friends are accurate. Wait! Hear me out! The Buffalo Slice, had no buffalo flavor..so with that slice, it was bland. I quickly moved on to the Marsala slice. Again, nothing special. I had some spots that were dry. Everything said and done, I would recommend just getting a cheese slice, Instead of a specialty. I mean, I wonder if they make a good regular?

Just to begin a Suzanne is an amazing server. Always greets us with a beautiful smile and great conversation. The bread basket arrives shortly after and its filled with warm crispy Italian bread, garlic knots, Flatbread and pizza pillows. Weboth opted to try a special. I went with the stuffed rigatoni in a pink sauce with fresh basil and it was delicious. The rigatoni was not overstuffed just right. The basil cream sauce was not too heavy which was a delight. My wife chose the halibut in a light leek sauce which was awesome it came with a side of delicious rice pilaf with carrot, corn and zucchini pieces. We keep coming back because of the specials they always come up with something unique and tasty. Great service, great pour and great portions at a very reasonable price for today's standards. Please give it a try sometime and you will NOT be disappointed. Cindan

Love Italian food. Love this restaurant…read more We went out for an evening dinner and one of us being in the mood for Italian, we gave this place a shout. Excellent call. It's a white tablecloth restaurant that serves some of the best Italian food I've had. And I've had a lot. The dinner starts with some terrific rolls and oil. Had to ask for some ground pepper and cheese, which they quickly oblige. The arugula salad may be the best arugula salad I have ever had. Large, fresh, the roasted portobello mushrooms and roasted peppers were outstanding, the goat cheese and balsamic dressing were just perfect. I had the eggplant Parmesan. I may have had better, but this one is right up there. The portion size was large, the sauce was outstanding, and I chose the angel hair pasta as my side, and that too was terrific. Exquisite evening definitely would go back there again.

So, I was excited to see this legendary brand open an Italian a restaurant. These are my thoughts........ When you walk in you're greeted by impeccably dressed and friendly staff and a beautify thought out restaurant. Check! First, I ordered the calamari with a side of both marinara and fra diavalo sauce. This was where my expectations started slipping. The breading was absolutely bland and added nothing special. The plain marinara you could get from a jar sauce. The fra diavalo sauce was pretty much the marinara with Tabasco stirred in to it. It's not that any of it was horrible, it was just boring. Then what was ordered for dinner was a plate of Penne ala Vodka and a Pizza Margherita. They both had nothing exceptional about them and truthfully were bland and unremarkable. This is a place that you bring people who don't know anything about good Italians food and just want basic flavor. Truthfully, the corner pizzeria has better flavor. I wouldn't drive just to go there again. Come on guys, step up your game!

I got the chicken picata which came a la carte and a side of pesto cavatelli. The cavatelli was fresh pasta and the portion of pasta was large for a side I think they gave me just a regular pasta meal. I tried the Italian sunrise which I didn't like at all. My husband had the pesto gnocchi and enjoyed his meal. We finished with the cookies and cream mousse which was light. My cappuccino was delicious. My only complaints are my jacket and clothes smelled like fried food because we were sitting close to the kitchen which I didn't like of course. My leftover chicken was not entire meal that was leftover which was disappointing.

On March 29th, we hosted my grandmother's 85th birthday here with about 30 people. This wasn't some last-minute reservation--we planned everything months in advance directly with Sal. From the very beginning, we made it clear that the entire reason we chose this restaurant was for their private room. My grandmother had attended another party there and loved that space--it's private, has its own bathroom, and was perfect since we had a lot of kids attending. Sal explicitly told us there was no minimum or maximum for the room and guaranteed it to us. Based on that promise, we booked the party. As the date got closer, we even upgraded the package--paying extra per person for an additional course. Only then did Sal casually slip in that we would NOT be getting the private room. So if we hadn't called to add that upgrade, we likely wouldn't have found out until the day of the event. When we questioned him, he suddenly claimed there was a "minimum" requirement of people to secure the room--something he NEVER mentioned before. Then he tried to say there was a contract stating we weren't guaranteed the room... except we were never given any contract. No paperwork. No receipt for our deposit. Nothing. Completely unprofessional and shady. A few days later, when my dad followed up, Sal finally admitted the truth: another, larger party booked the room. Fine--we understand businesses prioritize money. But don't LIE and promise something you can't deliver. Don't book us under false pretenses and then backtrack with excuses and made-up policies. We were then told we'd get the corner, semi-private part of the restaurant space with three tables. That didn't happen either. Instead, we were crammed into the front, basically in the middle of the restaurant. It was chaotic, loud, and completely inappropriate for a large family gathering--especially with young kids running around and my 85-year-old grandmother struggling just to get to the bathroom. To make matters worse, when we calmly expressed our disappointment afterward, Sal didn't even have the decency to have a conversation. He literally put his hand up and said, "I'm done with this conversation," and walked away, leaving his waiter to handle it--despite the fact that he was the one who mishandled everything. The lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic respect was unbelievable. We felt completely taken advantage of and misled from start to finish. This was supposed to be a special milestone celebration, and instead it turned into a stressful and upsetting experience for our entire family. We will absolutely NEVER be coming back, and I strongly advise anyone considering booking an event here to think twice. If they can do this to a party planned months in advance, they can do it to anyone.

The fried calamari and jalapeño appetizer was delicious, except that I got more rings than tentacles. I would have preferred half tentacles/half rings, and there was a little too much breading for me. I also ordered the tortellini en brodo with some pancetta thrown in. I sprinkled some grated Parmesan cheese and fresh ground black pepper on top, and the flavors melded beautifully. I enjoyed a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon with my meal: Primitivo Di Manduria, Carlo Sani 'Oro' Riserva, Puglia. It is a full-bodied Italian red wine with a flavor profile of red jam, dark fruits, chocolate and spice--up my alley!
