Went back here tonight for a quick dinner for four. Arrived at around 8:20 and was seated right away. A plus, but surprising as I remember the place being busier. Our waiter Lenny who obviously loves his job was a pleasure. The little hollow bread "pillows" are amazing. It's like your parents say sometimes you get what you pay for. In this case it's true, you pay a bit more per specialty slice here but yumm is it good. My personal favorite is the chicken marsala. Its the best Marsala slice I've ever had. Two of those for lunch and you better have a coffee after. In fact everything I've tried here has been great. LaPiazza Merrick N.Y. Is a good place but, they nickel and dime you to death. I was going to order a pie for a friend and they wanted quarter mushroom and quarter pepperoni. Now it says half pizza topping $2.75 so I was not pleasantly surprised when it was more than it should be. I asked why is it so much. They said it was two toppings. I said yes but on one half of the pie. It's $2.75 for half a pizza. I asked to talk to the manager on 2-22-19 at around 2:30-2:45. He proceeds to tell me and I quote. "the work is more tedious". Best Italian food in the area . Grandma slices, fried calamari, baked clams some of my personal favorites. The clams come in this red to orange colored sauce which is optimal for dipping your bread in. Delicious. All salads are good, pizza some of the best around. Let me start by saying the service was fantastic from the hostess to our server. Quick, friendly and came by more than once to see if we needed anything. On to the food. We ordered as an appetizer the fried calamari. It was perfectly cooked. It wasn't greasy, the breading was light and the marinara it was served with was tangy with just a hint of spiciness. For our main course we ordered two brick oven pizzas, the Fra Diavolo and the Prosciutto E Arugula. Both pies were delicious, crust nice and crispy on the bottom and held up well with all the yummy toppings. The Fra Diavolo pie had hot crumbled sausage, spicy tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and cherry peppers. The contrast of the vinegary cherry peppers with the sweetness of the tomatoes and spicy sausage worked very well. The second pie the Prosciutto E Arugula was very tasty as well. Fresh mozzarella, fontina cheese, salty prosciutto topped with fresh arugula and a little bit of truffle oil. This is def a party in your mouth. Writing this review I wish I had a slice now.
