Delicious, freshly cooked food. Yellow rice and beans was great. Friendly and beautiful ladies behind the counter.

Service was good, not great I really needed cherry stones and I saw they had them stated online, so I drove a little bit to get here and they did not have them Other shellfish was quite pricey, but the quality looked good I ended up buying 10 little neck clams at $.79 each, and 3 pounds of mussels. I spent just under 20 bucks. I thought it was a lot of money for what I got. I think this will be a one and done for me

We went to Valley Fish for two specific reasons:…read more 1) We want to work more fish into our diet, so we wanted to use our air fryer to make some fish fillets which we needed to buy. 2) We saw that Valley Fish's website listed some outrageous good looking "Valley Fish To Go" items like "Grilled Faroe Island Salmon with a Maple Bourbon Glaze" for $11. We asked the counter folks what fish would best for fish and chips, and both suggested Cod. We ordered a gorgeous slab of Cod that weighed about a pound and a quarter and cost us a little over $20, so I'm guessing it cost around $16 per pound. We cut it into eight pieces, dressed it in panko and eggs, then popped it into the air fryer. Let me tell you, the fish came out GREAT. Now $16 a pound is pricey, and we all know you can do better out there in the marketplace, but I have to say the quality was great- super meaty without one milligram of waste. Now as for the "Valley Fish To Go", we expected to see a showcase or refrigerated case or a freezer case filled with these entrees to go. But there were none, and when we asked about the "Grilled Faroe Island Salmon with a Maple Bourbon Glaze" we hoped to pick up, we were told that it isn't stocked and in fact you have to order that in advance. If that's the case -fine, I understand, but there is no reference to that process anywhere on the website. I think that should have been clarified on their web page. So Instead of spending the $40 we were totally prepared to spend here, we just spent $20.

Available parking is pretty sparse, be prepared to either wait or park on the grass. Customers all over the place, the shop is very small. Folks in line out the door. They have a nice little prepared foods fridge and a small freezer with assorted items. After a short wait I made it to the seafood case. Bob the owner was extremely polite and very helpful, offering help and suggestions for my selections. I picked up large sea scallops, ahi tuna, Scottish salmon, blue crab salad and some smoked salmon. All very tasty and as fresh as it gets unless you catch it yourself. But, be prepared to pay a premium price for any seafood bought from Cold Harbor. The nice lady at the register noticed that I was a Veteran and said they give a 15% Veterans discount on some, not all items with proof of service. VFW card, VA medical card, etc. which was awesome and made my overall experience even better! Bottom line is I'll be back to Cold Harbor for all my seafood needs. The quality of their products and great service is definitely worth the price!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! I've supported this place for…read moreyears and spent well over $20,000 here because I always believed in supporting local businesses. I never thought I'd have to write a review like this, but I feel responsible to share what happened so others can stay safe and aware. Recently, I ordered 10 lobsters -- six that I ate there, and four extra that I bought from the market to take home. While eating, I noticed immediately that the lobster tasted off. It was watery, the texture felt wrong, and the flavor wasn't what it usually is. I even mentioned that to them. Not long after, I became extremely sick -- sick enough to end up in the ER. I didn't go in person, but I called the restaurant to let them know what happened. Not to argue, not to demand anything... just to inform them. As someone who has supported this business consistently, I expected at least a little concern. Instead, I was put on hold, picked up, and told they didn't have time for me. And even worse -- I could hear someone in the background say: "Oh, it's that girl... yeah, don't talk to her. Ignore her."... I ONLY CALLED X2 (CALLED BACK BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME TO FIND THE DATE THEN CALL BACK).. I had just spoken to the guy 15 minutes prior to call back and get told he was never there.... I never got to speak to him again) ... DEREK IS HIS NAME. Honestly hearing that broke my heart. After years of loyalty, thousands spent, and supporting them consistently, that's how they spoke about me. No care, no respect, no acknowledgment that I had gotten seriously sick AND ALMOST DIED!!!! I'm sharing this because customer safety matters, and so does how customers are treated when something goes wrong. I hope this encourages the business to take food safety and customer care much more seriously, because nobody should have to go through what I did NOBODY EVER! SHOULD HAVE TO ALMOST LOSE THEIR LIFE OVER FOOD! AND HAVE THE RESTAURANT YOU'VE SUPPORTED HANG UP ON YOU AND NOT CARE FOR YOUR LIFE...

The sign says Fish Market & Chowder Company, but what you walk into is 95% restaurant, 5% "technicality fish market," and that last 5% is doing the kind of work that would make a union rep cry. Let's be clear: The Angler is no longer selling fresh seafood. Not in any meaningful, market‑based, "take this home and cook it" way. What they are selling is the idea of a fish market -- the ghost of one -- while running a packed dining room full of people slurping oysters like it's a Cape Cod tourist trap in July. And speaking of tourist traps: They've got a tour bus parked outside. A tour bus. For a "local fish market." That's like seeing a stretch limo outside a Dollar Tree -- you immediately know something is off. As a chef, my time is valuable. As a food reviewer with an actual show, my time is documented. And nothing ticks me off faster than false advertising dressed up as nostalgia. If you've abandoned the fresh fish counter because the restaurant side makes more money? Fine. But update your signage. Update your branding. Stop wasting people's gas and goodwill. I walked in looking for fresh haddock. What I got was wall‑to‑wall oyster eaters and not a single square foot dedicated to what the sign promised. You can get oysters anywhere. You cannot get a proper local fish counter everywhere -- and certainly not in a space this cramped. If ownership wants to reach out and explain the pivot, I'm open to it. I'll even give them a redemption arc on one of my platforms. But right now? This new direction is the wrong fit for the location, the footprint, and the legacy they're trading on. Call me when you're ready to rebuild. I'll help. But today? Today was a misstep -- and an avoidable one.

While it can be a little pricey at times, you get exactly what you pay for--freshness that most "fast" options can't touch. The real advantage here is the ability to kill two birds with one stone. I can grab a high-caliber prepared meal for lunch and pick up my raw seafood in the same trip. While I know spots like Apple Tree and A Dong Supermarket are good, they just don't carry the variety of seafood that I actually eat. City Fish Market fills that gap perfectly with a selection that meets my specific standards. Pro Tip: Call ahead for your order. The lunchtime line can get crazy, and you don't want to be caught waiting when you're just looking to get in and out.
