I was in the mood for Peruvian food and this was the closest place to me and it did not disappoint! We ordered Lomo Saltado and Jalea de Pescado. Our dishes arrived rather quickly, they were tasty and cooked to perfection! The steak was very tender and the only disappointment was that the portion was very small. The finish off our meal, we ordered 2 desserts (Suspiro Limeno & Picarones) however, we didn't like the Picarones. The manager came over to bring our bill, we informed him that we did not like it and he removed it from the bill, no questions asked. Found this restaurant on Yelp and it was closely located next to the Miami Zoo. Came here for lunch and it's in a plaza located on a busy intersection. Parking was easy to find in the plaza. Once we walked in, we were quickly seated. All the current customers were spaced out in different sections which was nice. Our server didn't speak English so we tried to communicate as best as we could. We ordered a few dishes and the server forgot one of the entrees. I had to ask and they quickly brought it out after. We had the lomo saltado and the steak with huancaina pasta. The huancaina pasta was a bit unproportional. They gave so much pasta versus the steak. The portions in general were huge and so tasty! When we got the check, the server charged us for the soda twice. We let her know and it was removed. The leftovers tasted just as good the day after. read more

A gem for authentic Peruvian food down near Kendall. We came here for a late lunch and there was a 20minute wait which ended up being 10 minutes. The inside was very chatty and had some music going on which was good. Overall great spot for Peruvian food in Kendall! We ordered a jalea mixta in the family portion which was huge a family chaufa rice and lomo saltado. Each plate was huge and it was great to share and try everything out. Originally my lomo saltado came out salty and as soon as we said something there was no hesitation to change it to a new one which was great in flavor and had the meat cooked to perfection! For how packed it was the service was fast the food was all good and fresh and the tip is already included in the bill. La Perla is quite the pearl. My coworkers and I (9 of us) had reserved a table which was ready for us upon arrival. We were greeted with baskets of warm bread and a green spicy spread which was quite special. We proceeded to order from the lunch menu where you can find $10-$15 dishes. We had jalea, fish and rice, shredded beef, that thing with the lime juice and fish, and a few lomo saltados. I personally had the lomo which was very good. I found the steak to be much less salty that in other places which is a huge plus. The only thing that I would prefer was if the meat had been more tender. For a nice place to have lunch, I'd definitely come back again. We didn't try any special drinks or dessert but will do next time! read more

When we ordered our drinks, the waiter came with a green dipping sauce, and some type of corn nuts. However, they had ran out of bread, so nothing to dip into the sauce. It was only 4 o'clock in the afternoon, so surprised that there was no bread for the sauce. The meal however, was pretty good. read more

This unassuming restaurant was packed when we dined here at about 1 pm. The bread they give you is hot out of the oven, but the food is the best part. I ordered the specialty fried seafood dish and it had a fantastic mix of fish, calamari and shrimp in Texas sized portions. Everything was fried lightly and came with purple onions and a little pico which melded the taste together. My husband had the la mucho which was a large fish fillet, calamari, mussels and tiny shrimp in a rich brown sauce. The flavor was excellent and everything fresh! This is one of my favorite peruvian restaurant . My family and I were craving peruvian food for a while and why not helo the small business in this crisis that we are going through. We ordered a chupe de camarones which i had never tried before and it was so good also we ordered chaufa de marisco it was a bit too spicy though and two ordered of lomo saltado. The lomo saltado was not that good surprisingly it looked very poor and the rice that came with it looked liked old rice. I was a bit disappointing since this restaurant is good of the best ones in the area but Nothing that you wouldnt be able to eat to no biggy. TLDR: Overall yummy and savory Peruvian cuisine that needs help with customer service. This location is a local hole in the wall that has a history of consistency and value. They have changed things a bit since the pandemic - they no longer offer bread with the meal, tip is included in all tickets regardless of party size, they've remodeled the entire interior - and most things on the menu are the same. I hadn't been in about 2 years and took my fiancé and mom in for lunch. We ordered from the lunch menu as the no portions and prices are less than dinner. All the faves are available on the lunch menu which was great to see. The food was overall still delicious - flavorful and well seasoned across the board. We had the jalea mixta (fried fish and seafood served with a fresh onion slaw - not pictured), papas a la huancaina (a cold dish of potatoes served with a hollandaise-like sauce that is flavored with a soft cheese and non spicy ají pepper), causa de atún (a potato and tuna salad of sorts), and the classic lomo saltado (sirloin steak sautéed in a soy and ají pepper sauce with onions and tomatoes served over fries and rice). The server was the only issue we had during our visit. Despite being the only table in the restaurant (we went right at opening), she was scarce. We asked for three glasses of water and only two were brought and the third took 20 minutes to come. The lomo saltado was ordered to have the fries separate from the beef (so as to avoid soggy fries in the sauce) but came together on the plate. Though not ordered that way, we didn't send it back. I hate the thought of re-firing an entree and having food be wasted. The dishes, though ordered off the lunch menu, were also charged to us as the full dinner price and we had to battle for the price change. I figure this server may have been new but wish she had had more support since there was other staff around. read more
