The Famous owner but I forgot his name

The best porchetta in Rome! This was a stop on the Eating Europe food tour through Trastevere. The owner was so friendly and the porchetta was outstanding- the porchetta was placed on a flatbread - so juicy, full of flavor. 5 stars for uniqueness!

Porchetta!!

Agreed. Best porchetta. Had it on the food tour and so so worth it. Apparently at peak times, they go through a whole pig a day. It's so good and they take such care of how they make it. It was so tender and we'll salted. Even a slice was enough for the piece of bread it came on.

The wrapper from the prosciutto. Very cool.

Happened upon this place by accident when buying groceries next door. The whole atmosphere is very happy--the guys who run that place are super friendly and positive. When I was there, a tour group came through, so the place is officially on the culinary map. The tour had beer included, and the guy helping me gave me a glass to try. It was called Birra Alta Quota, and it is made with farro; it was excellent, so I bought a few bottles to take back to my apartment. I bought the prosciutto, which they make themselves, sourced from pigs kept in Umbria. He hand-sliced the prosciutto with a knife, which gives it a more heart mouth feel. I also bought 200 grams of Castelvetrano olives. Everything was excellent. Reading other reviews, it sound like I need to try the porchetta!! Next time.

We visited this shop with our food tour guide, as we wanted to try some local foods in Rome. We had a delightful slice of porchetta (juicy, tender, absolutely heavenly) on pizza. Highly recommend stopping by here!

They've got all the meat and cheese. And not just any meat and cheese. This shop, staffed by cheerful guys that obviously know what they're doing, has the most flavorful porchetta, the most finely sliced prosciutto, the fluffiest fresh ricotta, and freshest mozzarella. If you're looking to have a picnic, have a party, eat some dinner, or just have a snack, you can't go wrong with anything you get here.

The best porchetta sandwich in Rome awaits behind these doors

This is a family run deli with the best porchetta sandwich in Rome. Juicy, flavorful and tender pork. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. This is a take away place so plan accordingly. We found this place on a Trasteverde food tour and I found myself returning on my last day in Rome to relive this amazing sandwich. Don't miss La Norcineria.

Porchetta to die for! Get on a white pizza (it's just a nice soft piece of bread with rosemary olive oil)

Panini Porchetta is a must try - we came to Trastevere just to visit La Norcineria and were not disappointed.

Best porchetta in the world! Even if your not hungry, get one to go. You won't regret it. It's so moist and flavorful!

Mid drinks, awful service, and uncomfortable atmosphere…read more First thing that threw me off was the table we were seated at was at sloped about 15 degrees . As we were taking a seat, the tables nearly toppled over just from a gust of wind so for the remainder of our experience I was wary of whether or not the table would topple. The drinks were a bit pricey compared to the restaurants and bars next door but what really ruined the whole experience was the awful service. Most of the employees here treated us poorly except for the guy who ushered us in. Our waitress was impatient and the lady who worked the register was rolling her eyes at us when we asked if we could pay using our American Express card. She said we can but we felt bad at this point so we switched to paying with visa because apparently it's easier for her to take our payment if we used Visa. Drinks were okay but not justifiable for the price Overall, I can understand why the place was quite empty during the time I visited. If you value service and price to taste then I'd recommend elsewhere

Being my first time in Rome I immediately tried the lasagne and a glass of house red wine. Was not disappointed at all. Kids loved the Prosciutto pizza and we all shared some carbonara con speck, rosemary focaccia, and a charcuterie board. All of which were delicious. Would stop here again for a quick lunch.

Outdoor markets are my thing so whenever traveling abroad, I seek them out. It's so much fun to see…read morethe various types of fresh fruit and veggies available, many unique varieties. There was a type of radicchio I'd never seen before. And so many olives! But it's also challenging because you are limited in what and how much you can. It unless you are staying at a VRBO. Same with all of the olive oils, aged balsamic vinegars, pesto, jarred tomatoes, olives, regional pastas, meats and cheeses. OMG, I wanted it all! Since I love to cook and mostly cook Italian, it was pure torture! I did buy Parmigiana Reggiano aged 60 months because the taste and price was too good to pass up. But I didn't have room in my suitcase - weight wise - to buy the olive oil, aged balsamic and other food items I wanted. They had the typical tourist souvenirs like scarves, aprons, ceramic bowls, and a wonderful assortment of olive wood charcuterie boards and serving utensils. I collect them but didn't buy any because the prices were the same or higher than what I find at Trader Joe's or Marshall's! And again, too heavy to lug back to the states especially if they aren't unique or a fabulous price. There was even a stall selling a vegetable spiralizer like you see on late night tv commercials. He was demonstrating the plastic gadget and crowds were lined up watching. Cracked me up! Did you pick up any treasures while in a Rome? Yes, a plastic veggie spiralizer! Prices of many items were the same or higher than the shops. For example, a tiny bottle of 20 year old aged balsamic was $22 but $18 in a shop so know your prices and definitely try to barter. Mercato Campo de Fiori is located in a bustling area of the city so after shopping the market, you can stop in other shops and boutiques on all of the side streets. There are plenty of leather, clothing, jewelry, and stores selling ceramics and food products plus cafes and restaurants in abundance.

I was waiting for my laundry to finish up and decided to walk around this place (just wasting…read moretime). Great place to get fresh fruit/veggies, spices and great wines. There are also several vendors that make fresh squeezed juices that I highly recommend. This market is open everyday and it is always busy. There are restaurants surrounding this market as well, so from my perspective, it's an all day event.
