I'm extremely disappointed with my experience here. I asked for them to repolish my nails after the initial job was done horribly. They informed me it would be a 25 minute wait to get my nails redone. The customer service is non existent and I won't be returning. read more

I've been here a few times and the work is always subpar. But my last two visits sent me over the edge. The workers do not do what you asks them to. "Can I have acrylic?" But puts dip like I don't know the difference. "Can you put glue on this one." No glue. That alone ruined my manicure within the first week but I went back again because It was the Saturday before Christmas. I'm always weary when i get a male because they never seem to be as well trained. But I was optimistic. This man redid my nails 2x and could not get the gel to cure. He asked the tech next to him for help but she yelled at him and watched as he continued to struggle. After almost 2 hrs of attempting a gel POLISH CHANGE he finally asked if I'd like a new tech. I said yes and sat there as she filed his attempt off and had to start over. I was in there for 3 hrs they did not take 1 dollar off or offer me any type of service recovery. Didn't even trim my cuticles or get the access gel off of my skin. And on my way out the door all I got was "I'm sorry come back to me next time." Never again. read more

This place is really a hit or miss. I've been coming here on and off since about 2010 and I must say sometimes I get awesome and sometimes I get blah. Today, I got blah . There's a high turn over rate here meaning the employees come and go consistently so it's hard to get used to one nail tech. The girl today cut my cuticle! I've never had that happen. My eyebrow wax was uneven and usually here that's spot on. I'm so disappointed in this place it's unreal. She seemed rushed and until I decided against continuing with my manicure the girl was very blah. Once I decided against my nails THEN she was nicer. I pass up so many nail salons to come here... Not anymore. It's time to branch out. This place used to be worth it but never again!!!!!! read more

5 of my friends and I booked a manicure with LA nails for New Year's Eve. The service was absolutely terrible. Tammy did two of our manicures. She did not put the hot towel on or instruct me to wash my hands after moisturizing, leaving me with greasy arms and hands. Then after painting my nails she did not put on a clear coat, which is part of the manicure. That night my nails chipped and I was planning on going back on the 2nd to get my nails fixed since the 1st was a holiday. I went there on the 2nd and the man working the front desk was not helpful and told me that I had to call back the next day and ask for Tammy to make an appointment to fix my nails. I called the next morning and Tammy was conveniently "out with the flu". The lady on the phone told me that if I wanted my manicure to last this long (two days later) (Keep in mind my nails starting chipping that same night I got them done) that I should've gotten gel nails. She eventually told me to come in to get them fixed, after I had to inform her of the crappy service I received. So I go in to get them fixed and they started chipping the next day all over again. After informing my 5 other friends of this terrible, dragged out experience they all agreed that they would never return here ever again for service. Additionally, one of my friends who got the gel manicure that the lady on the phone suggested I should've gotten said her nails were chipping too, 4 days after she got them done. She also explained to me that they told her to pick a normal nail color when she arrived, and they would match the color for a gel polish. She asked for navy blue, and they gave her an electric, royal blue. Overall the experience was disappointing and I, nor my friends, will ever return. read more

The nail tech was not following my instructions. He was rude. He did not do a good job. I'm not very picky but he just acted like I was an object. Not recommended after giving a $10 tip and feet were still wet! If I could give no star I would. read more

Poor customer service. They expect a full tip for mediocre services. They talk trash about customers in Vietnamese. They didn't know that I am half Vietnamese and understand the language. Do not waste your money here. read more

I definitely would leave zero stars if possible. After the nail tech tried to force me to get gel polish she proceeded to say there's a $5 polish removal fee for a pedicure. For the polish THEY put on there. I've never had to pay for a polish removal during a pedicure. So now they have most definitely lost me as a customer. I hope that $5 was worth it. read more

This was my first time here and the woman that did my nails was SUPER sweet and her name is Nina by the way. I got full set acrylics and they are long coffin it was $35 which is why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because i called before and they told me $25 but its understandable because i got them pretty long. This place was super fast but great quality! I will definitely be going back soon read more

In need of a pedicure and seeing an advertisement banner flapping in the wind, I took a chance, went inside, and was pleasantly surprised. This place is really large and nice! It's brand new, very clean, and boasts around 10 or so pedicure/massage chairs with several feet between each one. No more squeezing into the tiny crevice between each chair to climb into yours. There are even more manicure stations, all very nice and pretty. The women are friendly, especially the woman who gave me a pedicure. They use NEW tools, with the exception of files and pumice things, on you. It's hard to find places that open up new packages of tools for each customer. The prices are average to below average of other places--$25 for a pedicure and I believe $35 for a mani/pedi ($5 for a design). They can cover all your nail and waxing needs (no threading). According to the owner, they also offer massages, but an appointment is required since they need to call their massage people to come in. They opened up about two months ago in the shopping center with Academy. And boy, am I glad they did! Because it's hard to find recommendations for mani/pedis in NOLA, it always felt like you had to take a chance with a sketchy nail place or go to the high end spas like LoveJoy. No more!! The polish on my feet, including the two designs, looks nice even after two weeks. Go here--I doubt you'll be disappointed! read more

So, don't be fooled by the location. My sisters and I were skeptical, to be honest, but decided to take a risk. Upon arrival, the huge open area of 10 manicure tables and pedicure chairs amazed me. The interior design made the place look upscale (if that's important to you) and elegant (and serene at times) The staff were friendly and patient. However, make sure you make an appointment, or you'll most likely wait. The place seems very popular judging by the amount of people in there on a Saturday afternoon. I went here with my sisters as a graduation "present" and we got the citrus spa pedicure (or something along the lines) that cost $40. A basic pedicure is $27. The place is very clean, considering they put a plastic tub in the pedicure water thingy (as you can tell, i am not an experienced pedicure person), and everything came out of plastic bags or souffle cups. I forgot what was included, but I do remember the hot clay mask and the massage chair. There are 2 TVs in there if I remember correctly. You are also offered a drink (coke, water, sprite, etc.) before they start. Anyway, I had a guy do my pedicure. He was very nice (too bad he didn't have a name tag so I could request for him next time), and he gave the best leg massage! I left feeling so relaxed, and my legs and toes were smooth and beautiful :) They also do facials and waxing :) read more

I will not be back and wouldn't recommend this place. I got a pedicure today, the Polish was thin and needed several coats. The guy did just two and the Polish was splotchy. So after just two coats he immediately started putting on the clear coat. Most places I go ask if you are happy with the color before applying the clear coat. So I tell the guy it needs another coat of color and he did just that, but on top of the wet clear coat. I couldn't tell until after the polish dried it cracked on all my nails and left a chunk of polish in one spot. I could be wrong, I believe this to be due to painting on top of the wet clear coat. AFTER $37 and a horrible polish job...... I'm NOT HAPPY! read more

The first time I got my nails done here, I loved it! I only wish I had gotten the technician's name because each of my 3 trips since then have been a disappointment. The interior is lovely. Very nicely decorated and relaxing. It looks clean and the massage chairs are pretty good too. Here's my problem. During two out of four visits, the person doing my pedicure was too rough when it came to the cuticle cutting. They went too deep and it actually hurt instead of feeling relaxing. I've had many pedicures over the years and I know that this is not necessary. Also, the shaping of my nails was off too. Not terrible, just not good. Now for the worst part. The massage is NOT GOOD. They charge almost $30 for a pedicure which is ridiculously high. With that money I expect a great pedicure AND a great massage, NOT some quick rush job. This is a major pet peeve of mine. Speaking of pet peeves, the last time I went here the nail technician tried to up sell me 4-5 times throughout the course of my service. This is so annoying and so NOT relaxing. One time I can understand, especially when management requires it of the staff, but multiple times.....NO! I'm not getting anything else done so leave me alone please. Sorry LA Nails Spa, you lost me as a customer. read more

This place is totally hit or miss. And yesterday it was MISS!!!! Went there again for an eyebrow wax and it turned out just okay. I've got to stick to threading cause whatever she used to clean up with (usually its alcohol or witch hazel) caused my skin to break out over the next few days and upon closer inspection she tweezed to many of the "good" hairs out of my brow so now I have to pencil in the faint bald spot :( read more

Hands down the worst nail salon services I have ever received!!! Uneven shape on the nails uneven gel polish at the end she had told me that it was to hard to paint my nails with the color I had asked for and my nails are extremely rough and lumpy from the polish and missing color on every single side of each of the nails to make things worst she blamed me and the color I chose excuse me for you offering this color and I just so happen to pick the one that is to hard and my fault because your just a terrible unprofessional nail tech! Don't waste your time your money or energy going to LA Nails in Harahan they charged me $73 or stole if you ask me only for me to now have to go get them redone and pay another almost $100 I have given this place so many chances but it's now full of unprofessional uncaring rushed techs can't get any worst than this place!!!!!! read more

I have been coming here for years but noticed on my recent visits they have been upcharging like crazy. It seems I pay a different fee every time I go. For example: Ombré solar nails-50 Coffin shape whether short or long nails-5 Pedicure Callus-35 Want French?-5 Long nails-5 extra Soak off-10 Pluck off with clippers-5 They do a great job and I tip for a job well done, but if I pay for a pedicure, getting someone to paint less than a half inch of my toenail shouldn't be $5 extra. read more

I truly loved coming into this place and getting my manicures and pedicures but this last time I went, I received a manicure and wax. My gel polish chiped in less than 24 hours. I took my receipt and went to get two nails redone. After two more days, the nails have chipped again! After returning for a third time in the same week, I asked for a refund. I was only provided a $15.00 refund for the gel polish. The manager was not friendly when I explained the situation and kept asking if I wanted the nail fixed. I explained no this is my third time returning in a week! No one offered any type of service recovery for my inconvenience. The manager was not apologetic or asked if I would return. This was my favorite place and I did not hesitate to recommend their services. I will not be returning. This has been by far the worse experience. read more

I just had one of the most awful gel manicures I've ever had, but I've had good service here before. It's really hit or miss, and the last two tries have been a miss for me. I prefer to go to a nail salon that's located in Metairie, but sometimes LA Nails is more convenient. Unfortunately, I won't be back because I paid more here for a manicure that I'll have to have redone elsewhere. read more

Awful it has been less than 2 weeks and my nails are cracking and lifting. First of all the entire experience was not relaxing at all. The massage chairs are awful and uncomfortable. The nail tech nearly killed me trying to remove the acrylic nails by lifting it with just another nail and a few screams from me she looked disgusted and went to soak them and then file down. Then they were rushing trying to do both at once which I hate and takes away from the supposed relaxation of the Deluxe Pedicure I was receiving. I love this place. From the outside, I was skeptical, but once I went in I felt much better. It is clean and the decorations are nice. They have lots of color choices and must have 12 pedicure chairs in there. Also new to me, they put a little plastic liner in the pedicure tub for each client. This was a hygenic first for me! The girl that did my manicure and pedicure, Tina, was great. She was thorough and details oriented. She removed my previous gel manicure with cotton and foil around my fingertips, which is much nicer (and does a better job) than soaking my hand in acetone as I've done at other places. Would definitely recommend and am definitely going back! read more

I wrote a previous review raving about this place a while back, but that all changed on yesterday. I had an evening 5:45 appointment with my regularly scheduled tech Nina...I was sitting down getting my acrylic on and the receptionist singled me out while receiving my acrylic application before it dried, he came and asked me to pay prior to my service, but I didn't see him ask anyone else for payment...I told him he shouldn't be asking me for payment while I'm getting a service, and that he was disturbing me he would have to wait. Anyone who receives acrylic application knows it has to dry first. I guess he expected me to risk ruining my clothes and nails to retrieve my card. This was never customary to pay prior to the end of service, I was a loyal customer here for 5+ years and can only remember paying prior to the end of service service once so the previous female receptionist could close the register to go home early...then Nina while she was doing my nails walked away to go wax someone else mid acrylic application then came back to me...I was upset about that, but I didn't say anything, I just reflected my annoyance in her tip...I get to the counter to pay, they've implemented a new system with a new have a new card machine...I put my card in the machine twice and it would not read...so I asked the receptionist what's wrong with your machine he said it's your card, I said nothing is wrong with my card...waited for my receipt...he handed me my receipt, never once said thank you! I left the shop, then I received a call from there thinking I left something, but it was the receptionist calling to tell me I can't return back there because I was rude to the employees. He should have been calling to apologize to me, which I expressed during the call. I also called Nina once personally after the ordeal to express to her what happened and she never answered the phone. I was a loyal customer to this shop and to Nina for a long time, and to be treated with such poor customer service and disrespect is a slap in the face to say the least. This review is not written out of anger, or a place of hate, it is written from a person who was loyal to a business and one of their techs, but in the end the loyalty was always one sided. LA Nails is not the only nail shop around, if you're looking for a place where customer service is important to you, I suggest you take your business elsewhere! read more

I am usually easy going and don't really bother writing negative reviews, but I was disappointed in my visit here. After reading the reviews I figured I would try this place, but it is definitely not as good as the others claim. This nail salon offers relaxing decor and cleanliness, but they are seriously lacking in quality of service. I left unsatisfied with the paint job, with cuticles still in tact, and with polish messily in random spots on my hands. (I could've done that myself.) My gel nails chipped within a week (then what's the point in getting gel?) The entire experience felt very rushed. This nail salon is clearly trying to get as many people in and out to make a quick buck and is not worried about quality. Disappointing. read more
