**Note: this is now called Amore not Joe's**…read more I'll start by saying I get it. Small town in West Texas, but I'm also from these parts. So I'll cut you a little slack. Nice large dining room and bar. It was much bigger inside than I thought it would be. The wine menu was about what I expected it to be. I saw some people dressed up & some in shorts & hoodies. The service was good for the most part. We weren't offered refills and I was a little upset that we were offered oil to dip the bread in but were not told it was an up-charge. I knew as soon as I saw it but I was expecting the little plate with a drizzle in it that most Italian places offer. She called it hot oil, and it was spicy. I just think they need to specify that it's an add on. The portions were a good size. The tomato basil soup had cream in it which I wasn't expecting. Again, something small but could be better. The Italian wedding soup was oily and didn't have any meatballs. My main issue is that most of the food only tasted like salt. The pasta was over cooked and soggy. I got chicken piccata and I drizzled some of that hot oil on it and squeezed on the lemon from my tea to give it some flavor. My husband had a lasagna. He said it was "basic".

What a unexpected surprise to find such great Italian food in Andrews, TX. So it's called Amor now…read moreinstead of the old establishments name. Great service and a very nice interior. They have a full bar and a great menu to match. My buddy grabbed the meat balls with a side of spaghetti and he liked it a lot. Moist meatballs and the pasta was perfect. I opted for the pasta elgio olio. Veggies in spaghetti with top shelf olive oil. It was phenomenal. Can't wait to go back and try some more dishes when I'm in town.

Did I already rate this place? Haha I've heard about it for…read moreyears and finally tried it a couple months ago. It lives up to its hype! Remember, this place has been on national TV before...extremely consistent, hot and fresh steak fingers that can't be beat! I'm glad I was in the Midland-Odessa area because we made a trip just to Andrews for Buddy's. The $20 basket can be shared. The gravy is great and so are the fries and slaw. This drive-in/drive-up was delicious. If we make it back that way, we will enjoy Buddy's again! For now, I'll remember it in my dreams ...hahaha!

OVERALL Buddy's Drive-In is an absolute treasure in Andrews,…read moreTX. If you're in the mood for delicious, hot steak fingers, then this is your place! RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4.5 | Ambiance: 3 | Price: 3 PARKING The parking lines were difficult to see on 1/9/2024, but just pull in and a staff member will come out to take your order. LOCATION/AMBIANCE It looks a bit rundown on the outside, but it's mostly a drive-in. It seems like the dining room has been closed for quite a few months due to staff shortage. I hope this changes soon because this looks like an awesome diner. THE GRUB The steak fingers basket ($15.25) had the best steak fingers I have ever had. Only one strips had some tough pieces. The cream gravy comes in a somewhat small cup. My family has always been big on gravy... they don't do a simple dip -- no, no -- they do dip and scoop method. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB I'm not sure if there is a kid's menu. The menu on the wall was a bit hard to read in its entirety. My 9 & 10-year-olds ended up ordering cheeseburgers ($9 each) with an order of crinkle fries ($3.25). These didn't come with drinks. SERVICE At first I didn't realize that the dining room was closed. We waited a while for the long employee we interacted with to come out to take our order. She didn't write anything down and that always concerns me. Lol. My youngest daughter said her cheeseburger was sans cheese. The food is cooked to order, so be prepared to wait upwards of 25-30 minutes. MY FAVORITE PART... The steak fingers & cream gravy! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The fries were terrible. Also, I wish their plates or baskets came with drinks for the price they charged. TIP Call ahead for order pickups: 432-523-4890.
