We came for a dinner on a Saturday night. Cassis Mona et Filles was surprisingly busy, but we after we put our names in we had to wait only about half an hour. While waiting, you can visit the boutique, ice cream shop, or sit outside on the patio chairs. The drinks were delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day. In the dining area we had a great view of the sunset, and the food was pretty tasty! The quiche was moist and the salad had a tangy vinaigrette. I'm copying and pasting a part of my review of the whole place (Monna et Filles) The restaurant, despite the hype surrounding it, was rather disappointing - think greasy fries style - everything is liberally covered in black currant related products, but the taste of the food itself fails to deliver, especially considering the cost. read more

Sometimes Yelp reviews are inaccurate. This place is overpriced. The duck confit poutine was salty, as well, the fries were greasy and the gravy was cold. The salad's dressing was too sweet for my liking and there wasn't any other vegetable aside from lettuce. The popcorn chicken was straight from the frozen isle of a supermarket yet priced like they were home made. Restaurant's wait was long but we were able to find a seat in the open yield self-served area. There is also a wine store and an ice cream attached to the restaurant. Please note: the roadsign says "Cassis Monna & Filles". We were coming based on the Yelp reviews and I was afraid that there had been a change in ownership. Once we came to the door we saw that the restaurant inside is indeed Monnaguette. We are so glad that we didn't leave - it was a wonderful experience! The food for all six of us was excellent and the service was friendly and fast when we were there. I didn't know much about currants before going, but left with a new appreciation for this tart fruit based on the way that they had paired it up with other flavors. This restaurant located at a nice location with water and cliff view. The food was so delicious and not too salty. I ordered Confit duck which was delicious but I was not too happy with the fruit sauce which was very tarty and this was reason I only gave 4 stars. Pulled pork sandwich was ordered by my mom which was delicious. Chicken sandwich was delicious according to one of my friend. French Fried accompanied with the sandwiches and duck dish was fine. Putins here was the best of all that I have tried in Canada from Victoria, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec. Not salty and the seasoning was delicious. Our waiter was really friendly guy. This is a small, but great restaurant, great food, great service! They have a few tables. So you may have to wait a few min... Just be mindful of the very "rude" staff at the wine store! I was asking simple questions about a few wines and asked to sample one... big mistake the staff went off saying very loudly that I should pay to sample and implying That I was trying to taking advantage somehow!! What a find! A lovely place with delicious food and wines overlooking the St. Charles. The miel de cassis that came with the popcorn chicken was so good I had to buy several jars! We came at a really busy time, so the service was not as quick as we had hoped for (very hungry). With that said, the food was delicious. High quality ingredients and nicely presented. Not all of the tables were covered by shade, so we moved from our original seats to get out of the sun. Seems that they need to build more shade, because nobody wanted to be in the sunny tables. read more
