So I took my Aunt out for a late lunch. I ordered the tilapia tacos with beans and rice. I tried to swallow my first bite of the tilapia taco but it was sooooo fishy. I tried to squeeze a lime on it, but it was such a rancid, scummy pond taste that I spit it out. I have never ever in my 57 years of living have tasted a fish taco I could not stomach. I ate the beans and rice but could not tolerate the two tacos in front of me. I am pretty mild mannered. Knowing that you can get a bad batch of fish, calmly spoke with the waiter. The waiter told me he knew about the fishy taste and he did not like that meal either. I got up to pay the bill and talk to the manager about how bad it tasted. I told him tilapia should not taste like it was soaked in dirty pond water. It is a go to fish for even those who prefer an non-fishy tasting, fresh water white fish and suggested to use a halibut or check into another fish company. The acting manager explain that the real manager was on vacation. They never offered to take it off the bill or substitute it for something else. Of course I paid for it and walked away hungry. My wife and I were craving some Mexican food tonight and decided to try La Mission. We are from Houston and have had a hard time finding great Mexican food. Heard good things about this place from 2 groups of ppl.. Only 2 tables were occupied @ 7 which was a bit unfortunate. We ordered queso for an appetizer. It didn't appear on the menu but our server said they could make it for us. Queso was marginal. Good cheese but lacked flavor. Dido the previous review that said the salsa tastes like spaghetti sauce. My wife had 2 crunchy tacos and said the ground beef lacked flavor. I had beef fajitas. They were cooked just right but had little seasoning. All I could taste was the onion and bell peppers. The flour tortillas looked like they were homeade 2 days ago and reheated on the grill. Our server was very friendly and I noted buy one get one free and $2 domestics happy hour from 2-5 everyday. Overall, it's about like all of the others we have tried. I've lived here for a year now and this is HANDS DOWN the best Mexican food I've found so far. Carnitas chimi is amazing!!!! Get the red chile instead of the green though- and the salsa is good- and if you want it hotter, they will mix a bit up for you if you ask! Awesome! The ONLY negative I have is that the chips are not fresh- at least they dont look or taste it- they look like bagged. I can overlook that for the amazing chimis! read more

My favorite place in Falcon, all the food is amazing. Never a bad meal whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast burritos are my favorite with medium green chili that has a great kick! Staff is amazing and will make any changes you request to your meal. read more

The food was ok, kind of bland like others mentioned. The service was the worst part. Took our order quick but it took forever for the food to arrive as well as the check after our plates were cleared. Our server seemed to forget about us and was visiting with another table that he seemed to know every 5 minutes. We were the only 2 tables at the time. read more

Who uses Ragu for salsa? Apparently the owners of La Mission think spaghetti sause is acceptable to dip your yucky chips in. I can't believe a "mexican" restaurant can screw up chips and salsa so bad. A jar of Pace Picante would be better than what they serve. Unfortunately the rest of the food is just as bad. Don't bother wasting your money even trying this place. Falcon has two 'mexican' restaurants and both are horrible. read more

My husband and I ate here for the first time and we got terrible service from the main waiter. He was rude and unavailable so he gave us a new waitress half way through our stay. She was nice but also away for long periods of time so much we missed our appointment and had to get up to find her to pay. I ordered Menudo, I usually don't because not everyone knows how to make it. They brought me menudo in a giant bowl the size of 14" pizza. It threw us off because we thought we ordered for one... it was for one. The table held salt and other bottle condiments that were really dirty and gross. I started to notice that the place was not very clean as we were leaving. I could not eat the Menudo it looked so brown and old. I asked the waitress if it was freshly made... she said she dint know how long it was there for. I did not eat my meal, they took it off the bill. I was just grateful my husband din't get sick from his food. Prices are also on the high side. Nice decor that's about it. read more

I was more than pleased with my experience at La Mission. First of all, the server we had was not only attentive and pleasant, but he seemed to anticipate our needs before we could even ask him. His quality of service far superseded expectations and would have fit in well in any 5 star resort. He really showed that he takes pride and enjoyment in his job. I have to assume this is somewhat reflective of the environment of the restaurant. Secondly, the quality of the food exceeded my expectations even more-so. I ordered the Grilled Steak Burrito with the assumption the steak would be the usual slightly tough, B or C quality meat that you find just about anywhere. Not this meat, it was more tender than any steak I have had in a very long while, let alone meat relegated to the typical burrito. The marinade was just right, neither overbearing nor bland. The squash stir fry, with corn and onions rounded out the dish very nicely, as well. When you get a chance, I strongly suggest you try this laid-back eatery. I am certain you wont be disappointed. I believe in passing on good reviews when I feel someone really went the extra mile in their service. Too often these days the positive experiences get passed over and the negative get passed on, so I wanted to take the time to pass this positive on. We have been in Falcon for about 3 years. With the limited number of restaurants out here, we often stay in Falcon to eat if we don't feel like driving into the Springs. We first tried La Mission about 2 years ago and liked it a lot until they increased the amount of salt they used in the food. Could not even eat it! We decided to give it another chance about a month ago. Food was much better but still had one big complaint. The man who we think is the manager and usually waits on the patrons is very rude and disinterested in the customer. Last week, I order my usual meal, a soft shell taco with ground beef and he stopped paying attention to me, instead looking around. Then needed to repeat my order again. Today he was just as rude and we decided not to return as long as he is there or acting as a server. Really too bad considering the food is much better now but I will not spend my hard earned money to be treated as poorly as he treats us! read more
