Tons of ice cream flavors, a bazillion unusual popsicle flavors, plus savory snacks - 5 stars! La Michoacana Rose is definitely one of my favorite ice cream shops - Mexican style. First of all, the space itself is bright, colorful, and beautiful. I particularly love the giant wall display of roses, the huge mural, and the big chalkboard on the back wall. The shop was also very clean and spotless. They have an impressive variety of ice cream flavors, many of which are usual. They even had green tea flavor, something I usually only find in Asian style restaurants. In addition, they have even more flavors of frozen popsicles, some of which are unique and a little crazy. For example, they have a fruity pebbles flavor, an avocado flavor, and a Chamu flavor. I got the Chamu. It was a little too strong and salty for me. Still, it was very interesting. I'm glad I tried it. They offer a wide variety of beverages. I got the hibiscus (flower) flavor. It was excellent. For those of you that aren't familiar with it, I'd describe the flavor as what you'd get if you mixed half grape juice and half cranberry juice. Yum! Finally, they have a bunch of savory snacks like nachos and walking tacos. I had the walking taco. I really enjoyed it. And I loved the presentation. Basically, you pick your flavor of chips, they cut the side of the bag off, they fill the bag with your ingredients, and they give it to you with a fork sticking out of the bag. Cool! NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: I had a bad time trying to communicate with the young woman working behind the counter. I'm sure she's a good person and she was very nice. But I couldn't understand her and she could hardly understand me. Keep in mind, my wife is from Peru, South America so I have years of practice listening to a Spanish accent. But...it's critical that your front line employees both speak AND understand English. As a result of this confusion, she gave me a walking taco instead of an order of nachos. And she gave me a small drink instead of a large drink. And placing my order was a prolonged and frustrating experience. She couldn't answer any of my questions either. For example, she didn't know when they opened (I know it wasn't long ago) and she didn't know when (or if) they would close for the season at some point. Overall, this place is excellent. Despite the shortcomings of only one employee, I'm still going with 5 stars. Thumbs up! -Maxx

I was very impressed by the flavors, size of the portions, and very helpful staff. The ambiance is nice, although they could use a bit more seating. We wanted to try a fair amount so went with four scoops of tees leeches, taro, tamarind, and marzipan. Nothing but delicious especially the taro. Great place to try a scoop and cannot wait to go back on a hot day and try an ice cream bar or other refreshments. They have a lot of options and choices so get whatever you crave. You won't be dissatisfied.

Wow there is alot of flavors!!

I happened to be working on a job site in the area this weekend kept seeing this shop on the way to the job. I just happed to need to run back to drop something off after picking the kiddo up from school and being it's Friday fun night with him, that gave me the perrrrfect excuse to stop! What a cute little undiscovered gem!! And holy moly they have a lot of flavors in ice cream...as well as really cool popsicles! (Fun flavors too like Tamarind, tres leche, Taro, fruity pebbles, tequila...) They also had one of those darling Pinterest worthy walls where you could snap an pretty little photo while ya nosh on cool treat. It looks like they have a handful of warm eats as well (like a walking taco) but my eyes where so giddy-about-all-the-pretty that I totally spaced snapping a shot of that menu. The little guy zero's in on the bubblegum popsicle right away. Me? I had to taste test a handful of ice creams to help make up my mind. I ended up going with the pecan and one other flavor that I can't recall it's name. I was pleasantly pleased that it wasn't overly sweet like some ice creams. And the waffle cone was fresh tasting and delightful crunchy! We will totally be back!

I love the taro flavor. They also have tamarind. The staff are friendly. They also answer my silly questions when I am curious. On my next visit I am going to get a mangonada

We got there in the evening so they were out of a lot things (very limited options for desserts) but they still have drink options. I got the hummingbird and mango oat milk matcha. My sister got the brookie (brownie cookie). Everything was really good. The place was packed and stayed consistently busy! They close 6/29/25.

We drove all the way from Victoria, MN, through rush-hour traffic--and would gladly do it again. What truly sets Pumphouse apart is its commitment to fresh, local ingredients and incredibly creative flavors. The seasonal rhubarb ice cream was unforgettable: perfectly balanced, fresh, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical ice cream shop. The experience went beyond the ice cream itself. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun, making us feel less like customers and more like neighborhood regulars. We're already planning another trip back to stock up on pints before the seasonal flavors disappear.

The rotating menu keeps things exciting, but they always keep a few fan favorites. The flights are one of my favorite things to get. They're mini scoops, which makes it so fun to try different flavors without committing to just one. My top picks are the caramelized white chocolate, the sea salt caramel pecan, and the salted honey. All three are incredible. You can also grab pints to go, and the prices are super reasonable. A five-scoop flight for $6 is such a steal. Pump House is always worth the stop, and easily one of the best ice cream shops in the Twin Cities.

Street parking available on hip and trendy Washington Ave! They also have a decently priced valet for diners not looking to search nearby for parking! The interior is moody and hip with dim lighting, exposed brick, and a social energy. It's always busy without feeling stuffy or crowded. The service is top notch...fresh silverware and plates with every course, consistently filled water, servers that are around but not overbearing, and courses that come out with exquisite timing! We enjoyed an appetizer, a few bruschettas, and a few pastas on our most recent visit. Arancini were the perfect start: crispy, creamy, and a little spice from the sauce! Chicken Liver Mousse Bruschetta was the weak point in the meal as it just seemed to be lacking a component that balanced the richness of the mousse. The Crispy Pork Shoulder and Carrot Bruschetta was VERY salty, but I kinda enjoyed how it would make my mouth water, quenched by the creamy carrot puree. The Gnocchi are little pillows of heaven, and the orange sauce is such a pleasant surprise. The real star for me was the Mushroom Agnolotti: little pillows of creamy, mushroomy goodness topped with a plethora of additional mushrooms. Chef's kiss. Can't wait to come back again and again!
