They weren't just bartenders to me, they were friends. Even if I were just passing by, Salvatore and Sandra made it a point to say hi. It made me feel comfortable and at home in a city I had lived in for only mere days (I am American). Oh yeah, their drinks at great. They have a terrific selection of cocktails that they make with care and expertise. They take pride in their craft while maintaining an atmosphere of friendliness. It truly is a great place to grab some drinks and make some friends. I would recommend it to anyone, and I hope to be back in Valencia soon to be back there. Mi pub favorito en España. They offer a light Breakfast and some Tapas but the main draw is their Orange Liquor drink (Aqua de Valencia) as well Cocktails. Tea, Coffee and desserts are also options. First visit sat outside and had a Majou. Tasty local Lager. I was curious about the Grand Mariner coffee. Turns out it doesn't have Grand Mariner in it and so an orange aromatic coffee. Strong with a hint of Orange. I liked it. Second visit I ended up sitting inside as this Hostess said you have to have a party of 4 to sit outside. Different Hostess new rules. So I took a seat inside and ordered a Cappuccino and the recommended Chocolate Rum Cake. Dense cake with just a hint of Rum-delicious. Capp was also tasty. They only sell their Agua de Valencia by the Jarra (pitcher) so I got a shot to try which was a nice touch. Similar to a Mimosa but less bubbles. Since they weren't as busy & tables were open I ended up moving outside for a Beer. Service was hit or miss and can be slow depending on how busy they are. Once they got to you it was fine. Good spot to enjoy cocktails and gaze at the eclectic decor.

My friends took me here for my last night in Valencia. They knew I enjoyed cocktails and some wanted the special Negresco cocktail. I thumbed through the large whisky book and selected three whiskies to try. They have good tasting notes and 3 sizes for tasting if they are the malts. This bar also plays great music, so us dancers did some "west coast swing", some lindy hop and threw two airsteps. Soon after that, a co-owner walked in with his french bulldog. Fantastic dog! We got some pictures with him. Very sociable animal. Then we dealt with drunk Elvis. A plea to the karaoke bar that was closed so he came to Negresco: "stay open later. Please take his off-key singing and strange flirtations to your establishment". Overall, a great evening with great service and great prices.
