Horrible to go service. Took them 14 minutes just to answer the phone and take my order. And then another 30 minutes to bring my food out to the curbside. I have tried this restaurant several times, the staff needs a lot more training!!!! Last time they just forgot to cook my order, Had to wait forever. And yesterday, a guy with glasses took my "to go" order it was very unpleasant experience. Last night we ordered dinner online for pickup. When I arrived and stated my name, the two staff behind the counter looked at the to-go bags and one said "Those aren't yours". OK, where is mine? She checked the computer and said "There's no order for you in the computer". And then she just blankly looked at me. I said "How about I tell you the order, you put it in the computer and I'll pay for it?" "Oh, OK". Given that interaction, I should have known better than to not check the bag before I got home. However, I didn't and realized: One bowl of soup had been placed in the bag on it's side, which made a wet spot where it leaked. They omitted the side salad that went with my sandwich They omitted the croutons for my French Onion soup They omitted the cheese for my wife's potato soup They omitted the bread that went with my wife's soup Bottom line, if you order online, (which is a clunky online system) be prepared to check for every item before leaving the restaurant. read more

I am not really a fan of breakfast food, but I love their veggie omelet. It is very relaxing to enjoy it by the fireplace. The noise level allows for a good conversation and the staff is genuinely helpful especially, Maria. My wife and I always enjoy our time here. read more

I was shocked to see this la Madeleine only had 3.5 stars. The service was GREAT! Friendly accommodating - and the transition they have made from a self service environment to serving you at your table is phenomenal. Service 5 stars. Very clean and safe procedure. On top of the service the food was amazing. The bread, vegetables, and all the food we had were extremely fresh. The menu had quite a variety and if you want lunch at breakfast they are more than happy to offer a full menu all day long! We had a make your own omelette, and a turkey sandwich with caesar salad with 2 nonfat cappuccinos, wonderful! We will be returning :) read more

My husband and I tried this place out the first day, so there's that caveat. The staff was still learning I suppose because our interactions were kinda awkward. The flow from order to fulfillment was bumpy, but everyone was very nice. We had soups and desserts. The bowl size portions were small but the quality was delicious! Satisfying absolutely. The space is warm, and the back patio is super cute. The only reason I give this three stars is because their blackberry jam they have on tap there tasted like chemicals. This La Madeleine at Grand Parkway is NOT disinfecting properly and this was my very favorite breakfast restaurant. I actually saw the girl clear off dirty dishes from a table and come back to clean it. But she didn't clean that table she cleaned the table next to it that was already cleaned. What an idiot! I kept watching her go around cleaning with the SAME little paper hand wipe. Gross and not safe at all. I told her that this virus is really bad and is killing people. 35 minute wait. Our party was forgotten about until we pulled someone over. It still took 15 minutes after that point for them to bring our food. The food was ok but not worth the massive wait. I've been a fan of the chain for a long time but this morning was a disappointment. The quiche had an overcooked plastic texture to the top and the middle was dry and overcooked as well. The strawberry romanoff was ruined when someone decided to add cinnamon to the top of the sauce I asked for on the side. Cinnamon completely changes the flavor complex and not exactly in a good way. I should have at least been asked before adding it. I wanted a croissant from the self serve container they have but they looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for tongs since there were none and then tried to hand them to me so that I would be touching the part that touched the food instead of handing me one of the handles. Fast forward a bit and I've picked as much of the quiche as I can stand, had the croissant and I'm trying to enjoy the strawberries. I've taken the cup of berries off the tray and have it in front of me. Meanwhile the rest of the dishes are sitting on the tray to be cleared. Eventually one of the staff happens by to collect it but not before placing a dirty dish from another table on it and then picking up the tray. Trivial to some but as a point of etiquette for those interested, this is not proper clearing at all. No one that dines out wants to have the food waste of another person from another table placed on their table even briefly. If I had been gone and she had done that, fine. But I'm sitting right there. It sends the message that the guest is invisible as if Ive already gone and don't deserve the respect of waiting till I do actually leave or setting the plate on an empty table near by and clearing my tray from mine and then grabbing the dirty dish after my table is cleared. 2/22/21 What horrible service! We stopped here before the pandemic and the servers were clueless so we thought after a year and a half, it might be better. Wrong. They didn't know how to take an order. (shouldn't be paid $5.00/hr more less $15.00/hr!). Couldn't read sheet telling them what we couldn't order. And then got our order wrong. I love other La Madeleines and have been going to them since the 1970s.. This one really needs work. read more

TOO LOUD!!! The ambience of most Le Madeleine restaurants is usually calm and quiet, a nice atmosphere with softly playing music that you don't have yell over to have a conversation with your friends/family. What happened?! The last two times I've gone to this location the food wasn't very good AND, insult to injury, the music has been too loud, other patrons are yelling at each other to compete with the music, feels like eating in a gymnasium full of loud kids. For the last 15 years my family has enjoyed eating at just about every Le Madeleines we went to because they've all been a nice quiet atmosphere where we can enjoy each others company unlike so many, LOUD restaurants. Todays visit was such a huge disappointment. I can put up with mediocre food and I imagine the food sucks everywhere this past year because of the attempt to mitigate costs due to inflation, but killing the atmosphere is where you've really lost me. For those of you, looking for reliable and trustworthy catering service, I would highly recommend La Madeleine. For the past three months, this location has been my dedicated go-to for business luncheons in the Katy area. I find it very easy to contact them and the catering manager Angela is ALWAYS on time with everything that is needed for set-up. The food is very TASTY and always served at the appropriate temperature. You really have to commend great customer service and this location/staff member has definitely exceeded the expectation. read more
