Absolutely outstanding food. I used to pick up from this truck at their Culebra location. They eventually moved a bit further than I'd like and I was sad. Tried to visit a few times, when they didn't sell out. Not complaining, absolutely deserve to sell out each and every service. But then they started selling closer to home again. You bet I was gonna order more often! Let me tell you, the quality of the food has not changed. This is still the best tapatios and mini tacos I have ever had. I understand the craze now. I've been following La Maceta Tapatios on Instagram and Facebook for a little while now trying to figure out this best timing and location combo that would allow me to finally sink my teeth into their beloved tapatios. Well, wonder no more because the stars aligned and you're darn right I made an event out of it. There are some important things to note though when it comes to La Maceta Taptios though before you go. 1. Track their locations, times, and menu item availability on their social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram are active, can confirm). 2. When you get to their food truck they have an order system. They'll set up a couple crates (and hopefully some signs if it's not too windy) and ask folks that have yet to order to form a single-file line by those crates and wait. 3. They take orders in batches. When you form that single-file line in #2, they may not take your order immediately. If you don't see anyone to take your order, just wait by the crates and they'll be with you shortly. Why? They're making other orders at the time and probably are trying not to overload the kitchen. 4. Get the tapatios. 5. All orders are to-go and they have figured out how to package them to arrive to your dining destination safely and still crispy and warm. They have flat Styrofoam trays/plates that have lips around the edges, and then they place a rather sturdy bit of aluminium foil over the top. Genius. Food quality was amazing, fresh ingredients, and those tapatios. Do yourself a favor and just get them. You wanted tacos? Get those too, but also get those tapatios. Crunchy, filled with chicken, topped with tomatoes, cabbage, and queso fresco (I believe). Delicious. read more

La Maceta Tapatios has won my heart! These ladies know what they are doing, and they are the best! Food: Tacos, tacos, tacos and más tacos! I honestly can't remember the name of the tacos I order, but they were made of asada and I added cheese and avocado. My order had the classic double corn tortilla and the meat and toppings were fresh and delicious. All of their food is made to order, so I've heard of some people having to wait up to an hour because they had a huge waiting line. Honestly, this doesn't bother me because I appreciate the effort and freshness that comes with their tacos. Location: La Maceta Tapatios location changes from day to day. Yaaassssss !!Finally had a chance to pre-order and get myself some amazing Mexican food. Kind of want to try the whole menu but this time I was able to try their mini tacos along with the Mexican hotdog. My boyfriend have got the mini tacos with the Tapatio's. And must I say their food is definitely made with love. everything was hot everything was amazing and tacos were amazing which is definitely hard to find authentic Mexican food. Food was ok, but pricy. This is a food truck and they are located in different parts of town. You can check their Facebook page for the locations I had the veggie tacos. I don't know why they were $1 more than the meat tacos. It had corn, cabbage, onions and avocado. It comes with six mini tacos to one order and you can't order single ones like the meat tacos. It comes with a side of beans that have bacon, so if you're vegetarian, you can't have any and they don't offer you to substitute. The corn in a cup is no worth the $4. It is canned corn and has nothing special in it. I suggest you skip it. My boyfriend had the combo plate. It came with half mini tacos and half tapatios. He liked the tapatios more than the mini tacos. The cabbage topping on the tapatios was pretty yummy. The tapatios had a good flavor. The beans were lacking flavor. Our table got the mixed the beef and chicken Street Tacos that were really great with the limes and green salsa for some kick. Omg! I was in Tapatio heaven! The only other place you can get Tacos Tapatios, is in Acuña, Mexico. They tasted just like the ones from Acuña!! Plus now I can get them at home instead of crossing the border lol. They are flautas, even thought they are called tacos, piled high with cabbage, tomatoes, crema, and mexican cheese, and a jalepeno on the side. Finally made it out to see what the big hype was about these Tapatios. I've had Tapatios in Del Rio TX so I knew what to expect. The Tapatios were very good. They tasted like I was back in Del Rio. The cabbage and crema were perfect ratio. I did order extra crema just Incase it wasn't enough but honestly I think it was enough with what it came with. I also ordered mini tacos. The Asada tasted very good and the onions were finely chopped. The day I went they were giving complementary charro beans. Great flavor. The only con that I have is the long wait. I did see the young ladies working very hard to get our orders perfect so I would say it was worth the wait. I will be going back. If it's your first time there go prepared. I came to the address shown on Yelp! And there is nothing here. I drove 15 miles out of my way, because your ad says the tacos Tapatio are like the ones from Acuña, Del Rio, and Eagle Pass. I was very excited to try the tacos. Extremely disappointed. I cannot recommend since there is nothing to recommend. Also are you really open 30 minutes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday? 7:00pm -7:30pm? We walked up to the taco truck and were greeted with some bumping jams and very friendly welcome from the lady that was taking our order. On this particular trip we tried the asada tacos, Mexican hot dog, corn in a cup, and a Mexican coke to wash that all down with. The asada tacos had a good flavor but were a little dry, they are also paired with some beans that were perfect. The Mexican hot dog was delicious and beautifully prepared! The corn in the cup was amazing, definitely one of the better places to get corn in a cup from, it is prepared in a way that makes for the same great flavor from top to bottom! Went to visit this truck based off the amazing IG photos they post. Start time was to be at 6, didn't actually get the line moving until about 6:45. We had the combo plate ($10 each) that came with 3 mini tacos and 6 Tapatios. As we ordered we were asked if we wanted avocado extra crema, onion and cilantro, for our two orders it came out to $28, a bit pricey but okay overall. They're generously heaped with carne asada, with mounds of fresh veggies so that it's falling over from the heft of the sandwich. Had been wanting to try this truck for a few months. Had the combo plate, tostada and the corn in a cup. The corn in the cup was really good, but was not very impressed with the rest. The meat in the tapatios was cut with the grain of the meat, so it was stringy and would slide out of the tapatio. The meat in the tostada and the mini tacos was not seasoned very well. I was extremely excited when they first opened their food truck. Food is delicious but the long lines are a killer for me. I've also noticed that they increased their prices 3 times since they first opened. Time spent waiting in line got longer and longer. Now that they do preorders, it was great but they jacked the prices up and I'm just not comfortable paying $19 for a dozen "flautas" or as they call it Taco Tapatios. Also, one time I got sick and text them asking if I could have credit for another day. I never got a response, and I get it, they could do responded and said no. But the fact that they didn't respond and just ignored me. They didn't even mention anything when I picked up my order. They just ignored me, and over all I just felt like I wasn't important to them as a customer. I love their food but not their service, not anymore. read more

I was really excited to support this business as well as try the food, my schedule never fits their schedule, but it finally did and I eagerly prepaid and placed my preorder days in advance. I showed up at 1:35pm as the confirmation text advised then i realized I was supposed to message them when I arrived so I did that at 1:43pm. In between waiting I checked in, in person twice by 3:35pm I was still waiting for my order. I noticed other cars showing up and driving off with their orders in a timely manner so I stepped off my car and politely asked if I can request a refund for my order as waiting for two hours on a Saturday afternoon killed most of the items on my agenda. I was advised that I only had three more tickets in front of me yet still declined waiting further. Super bummed out because the food and reviews seemed amazing I know many others were waiting too but almost two hours?! Not good.
