It was so nice to find good Mexican food in Nice. The salsa was nice and spicy and the beans were nicely seasoned. As someone who comes from California and loves Mexican food, I feel like this restaurant did justice to the food. The margaritas were also really flavorful- they made me a spicy hibiscus version and it was really yummy. The nachos were really good - the chips are crispy and lightly salted. If you're looking for some variety in your food and want California authentic food, I'd recommend going here. read more

I was craving for some Mexican food and was happy to find La Lupita. It's on a very lively street next to some fun bars. I had to get my carne asada tacos and it hit the spot. Yes, it's definitely a bit pricey for tacos, and it was good but a bit greasy, but it curbed my cravings. I'm still looking for a good Mexican food spot, but for now, La Lupita will do. read more

La Lupita is in a prime position in the heart of Old Nice. Friendly French smiles hand over an ice cold Dos Equis. Selena & Vicente Fernandez come thru the speakers. Pico de gallo covered guacamole & chips are a lot for a single person, but this is a good problem to have. My carnitas tacos came pulled & wet, with just the right amount of salsa verde & cilantro on them. Pink pickled onions were a bonus. We had a group of four come in around 9pm on Sunday night, it was pretty slow, only about 5 other tables at the restaurant. It took them 10 minutes to even acknowledge us waiting at the entrance and then another 10 minutes to ever acknowledge us at the table. We ordered drinks which took longer to get than the actual food did. The food was below average, nothing special for how expensive it is. Our server was not personable and acted like we were an inconvenience. She forgot multiple items and did not check in on us once. We were waiting to pay for a while and we looked over and saw her taking tequila shots with the bartender. Once we ended up paying and were about to leave, the server came up to us and told us we still owed 2 cents. This was fully her fault as she did the math wrong. Run. Seriously. Food was mediocre at best . Margaritas were horrific....only lime juice (probably Rose's lime juice and a little fresh lime juice and pulp for good measure?). Service was beyond sub-par. I can't dissuade you enough. Time and money not well spent. read more

I wanted to change up my consistent meals of French or Italian, so I decided to branch out to La Lupita. It was pretty good. Will I say it is better than Mexican restaurants back in the USA? No, I can't say that, but in the south of France, it is a pretty good option if you are craving some chips and guac. read more

This wasn't my favorite restaurant in Nice. Blame it on the choice of food I made but it was disappointing. We were seated right away. Our starter order for chips/guacamole/salsa was good. Guacamole had a tad bit more lemon but was enjoyable. We ordered chicken fajita, vegetarian fajita, fish taco and quinoa salad. The fajitas were good and so was the fish taco. They had burrito size tortilla for the fajita but didn't bother anyone. Quinoa salad was by far the worst I have ever had. I told the server that they had way too much dressing in it to be edible. It tasted like it had too much vinegar. She said she was going to report it. The quinoa was soggy. But nothing was done to remedy it nor the item taken off the bill. Didn't want to cause a scene or ask and be rude and embarrassed so we paid promptly and left. read more

Service is fine. It's the food. We ordered burritos and they come in small size. There is side salad and it's barely had any dressing on it and so I was just chewing on greens with no flavor. The bean burrito has only two tiny strips of avocados. Probably worst burrito I had. What was I thinking eating Mexican in Nice. Definitely not up to US standard. read more

We popped in for tapas and drinks! We were a party of 5 and got right in. We shared chips & guacamole, ceviche bowl, and chileqiles. DELICIOUSLY done! We had wine, beer, strawberry basil margarita, el chapo, & a Paloma! I ordered in Spanish and the waiter --- who was an attentive guy-- asked where I was from. He said "ok, Mexican people usually like their palomas done differently" . ( confused head scratching here) we enjoyed our family meal & commented on the fact that we felt like we were visiting Mexico ( it was very hot and humid that evening). When I paid the tab the guy asked if I wanted to leave a tip on the credit card. I was surprised... very surprised as this has never been asked of our families extensive European travels in a restaurant before. When we left the first thing he did before we got 5 feet away was to check for a cash tip underneath the signed receipt. Odd. Besides that last little sour note the food and drinks were great. Great service and very kind waitresses! It was the USA vs. France WWC game and she offered to accommodate us to get a good view. For my drink, I got the ginger beer which was super good because they included some mint in there. I ordered the chicken fajitas and omg it was perfection!!! The chicken was so juicy and tender and the fajitas were really . Portions were really good, it came with two tortillas, a side of avocados, salsa, and sour cream. The best chicken fajita I've had and I've been to Mexico. My partner got the ceviche bowl which I thought was great - how I expect ceviche to taste like. Great spot for some tasty Mexican food! Yessss! Today I stumbled upon La Lupita. My first day in Nice and I couldn't imagine having another pizza or pasta. I saw Mexican food and jumped in the restaurant. I started with a Chile margarita - delicious. I asked the waitress what her favorites would be either vegetarian or pescatarian. She recommended vegetarian burrito or fish tacos. After looking at the toppings for the fish tacos, I went that route. Oh am I glad I did !!!! Oh my gosh. It comes with 3 tacos, and thought for sure I would only eat 2. But I couldn't stop. So good! And they have "valentine hot sauce". I love spicy and that was the perfect addition ! Go hear. Really good Mexican food ! I was shocked to find that in Nice. read more

This was good Columbian food in Nice! We ordered the chips and guacamole which apparently was the crowd favorite as every table had it. We also recommend you get it when you come! Ordered the sweet potato tacos and the vegetarian enchiladas. The sweet potatoes had too much mole sauce and they should consider putting some type of fresh garnish such as lettuce or cabbage to cut the sauce. But otherwise the food was good. i usually go here every trip to the south of France. it was a quiet day and the food is top notch however are server acted like we were imposing on her quiet time there. usually I find Mexican restaurants having a vibrant mood but this person seemed she would be better suited working as a matron in a woman's prison. bottom line good food and good drinks read more
