I totally enjoyed lunch at Le Blast. My friend and I grabbed a table outside and loved the open seating area--perfect spot to sit, relax, and people-watch. The indoor décor was perfect. I had the cheeseburger it came with fries and a salad, and an Orangina for drink. The burger was cooked just right and everything tasted fresh. My friend ordered the cheese pizza and a glass of wine and was totally satisfied. Our server was friendly, attentive, and checked on us throughout the meal. Overall, a perfect dining experience and somewhere I'd definitely stop by again when I'm in the area. read more

The beer selection is decent. Had a Pelforth Brune and my companion had a Duvel. Good location. Service was pretty slow. And "free WiFi" was almost unusable as it kept crashing. Ok to stop by and have a beer by the market but not for using your mobile on WiFi. read more

The people working at this American themed bar were nice and welcoming. The seating outside was perfect for people watching. $3 Euro will get you a glass of house wine here and $5 Euro for a beer. Reasonably priced with good service. It was a great place to sit outside at night and enjoy the lovely atmosphere, even on a week night! They also have bathrooms and a pool table upstairs. Our waiter deserves a 5 star but not the kitchen! I ordered a seafood taco but they were out of seafood! Come on, we are on the port of Nice here, can't they find one shrimp to slap on my tacos? I was given the alternative choices: beef or chicken. I reluctanty chose chicken. Mistake, like big mistake! It had the consistency of mushed liver and or gizzards, IDK. The whole thing sat on a bed of mixed greens. Within 10 mms the salad was welted in its preseasoned dressing. Ron ordered a chicken sandwich but instead got a BLT. Bacon was almost raw. He sent it back and finally got his chicken sandwich which he liked. I ain't going back there and still feel yucky after biting in this gross taco. read more

We ordered the Texan plate and it was so good! Each piece was delicious as we people-watched from seating outside during the heat wave. Service was superb; our waiter was very kind and affable, not just to us but with everybody. Some little girl spilled water the next table over and the waiter had 3 full plates on his left arm and went to clean it up for the family with a smile. That's skill. Bravo, monsieur. Also, when getting our bill, our waiter gave us two free drinks and said "these are on me, for traveling so far!" Parfait! Would definitely come back. read more

The service was slow I mean I had to wave a server down and then he smiled and walk away to be replaced by someone else who is crazy busy and extremely forgetful but won't write anything down. The food was okay nothing special if you need sustainable food to hold you over this will do the job. If your ordering drinks get a beer or a mojito everything else will just leave you disappointed. That's it plenty of other places to go unless you want beer and wanna sit with a decent youngish crowd. read more

He then demanded I pay him 2 euro ! I was stunned and embarrassed . This behavior is not acceptable In any country. Another attempt at an American style diner! Fail City USA! We have travailed these spots as the kiddlywinks are quite picky eaters so first question "have you a high chair?" No! Right so ordered away and waiter forgets her food, I mean it's a cheeseburger! It arrives......raw! Now I must accept responsibility for this as burgers are generally medium unless you specify in France so be warned! Sent it back grovelling for my ordering misdemeanour praying chef would hock a loogy in it. He didn't and they were quite accommodating even sent it back in the same blood soaked bun! So to summarise if you want a good burger go to Buffalo Grill on place messena! Don't go here although it was only 50 quid for two burgers and a pancake for the child!!! I'm being flippant it's a rip off, the decor is nice and the staff were ok except the lamp who made a balls of the order and then asked me to pay before the food arrived as he was finishing shortly! Looked lively & my hubby wanted to eat here - the drink - Mojito was the special €6 and it was really tasty. Hubby so bear also gated great... but boy the food was out right nasty... I ordered chicken burger - 1 bite in & it tasted like rubber. This was Defiantly not a piece of chicken but some kind of frozen processed piece of cheap chicken product. Hubby so burger was raw inside and being British he didn't like to complain... So he left it. When asked by the server did we like the food we said no the manger came over and offered to cook another but by now after filling up on the salad & fries that the burger is served with, we just wanted out. If you plan on visiting this bar, be sure you don't sit in Matin's section or immediately request a different server if he approaches you. He has a cross tattoo on his neck, just to help you identify him. I wish the service experience wasn't as terrible as it was, because everything else including the food was above average. We found two bugs in one of our salads that comes with every burger order and quickly showed it to him. He pulled the leaf without saying anything or aplologize and went over to the side to let the bugs (tiny caterpillars) go free, which at first we thought was awesome and very eco friendly ha but little did we know, he was much more on the bugs side than we could have anticipated or hoped for. When we asked for the check, I expected the burger to be removed from it as we found not only one but two bugs and immediately stopped eating. Nope, it was still there and we sat another 20 min waiting on him to come back with the card machine, so I decided to press the issue. I got up, approached him and asked if he could please remove the burger from the check and he asked, "Why?", very rudely. To which I of course replied, "because there was a bug in it." He went on to try and explain how it's 'au naturale' amongst other things while a co worker stood their listening to him. I'm sure he was talking some crap about us American's or something, but it made me feel slightly better that she immediately apologized after he walked away because she knew it should have been a no brainer and the burger removed. He wouldn't take it off and I probably should have just walked without paying anything at all, but that's not me so I let it go and paid for the bug ridden burger so I could move on with my beautiful Nice vacation. One star only because I don't know how to put zero!!! The worse service I have ever seen in my life! I went there three times, because the first 2 times the cocktails were not too bad despite a really bad service. Today I had some sort of a fruit juice diluted in water instead of a cocktail (yes supposed to be with alcohol) that I had to wait for 30min to get, with no apologies of course. And as a thank you and goodbye, I was told "no credit card under 15euros". No sorry, no apologies, nothing. Enough is enough!!!! read more

We took a Mojito for 4 people, it was the worst Mojito I ever had. Nothing in alcohol, it was we drunk a virgin Mojito.

The food at Blast was delicious but the service left much to be desired. After waiting 15 mins to be seated and having another table seated before us even though we got there first we had to wait 20 mins for our order to be taken and then another hour because our order got lost! After asking the waiter where our food was and being reassured it was on it's way we we then told the order hadn't been processed. We were however offered complimentary chips but these failed to appear. I appreciate that Blast is popular with tourists so it doesn't really matter too much to them about customer service but I live in Nice and just because I am English speaking doesn't mean my custom shouldn't be valued. read more

Last Thursday I wanted to join a group of friends who had dined at the terrasse of the Blast. There was a guard at the entrance of the terrasse who prevented me from doing so, telling me that in any way there was no room and I could not enter unless one of my friend make me a sign... which was a bit surprising because they were far and could neither see me nor hear me. I asked him to let me go see them and tell them that I was there, he refused violently, physically imposing himself against me (a woman). I actually called one of the owners who obviously had little authority over the violent vigil (who still prevented the entrance to the terrace). The owner offered to take me by the hand to go see my friends. So, thinking that I could enter, I went straight to the table where my friends were, without taking the hand of the owner (as I'm not a child). The guard then grabbed me violently by the arm and threw me like rubbish outside. My boyfriend who came standing non violently in front of him was physically pushed away. I was really shocked by the attitude of the vigil and the lack of control of the owners over this man who, posted at the entrance, represents their restaurant. This guard demonstrates a frightening latent violence (as a social worker I know unfortunately what I mean). I was born in Nice and I'm really shocked and saddened to see that tourists and local people can be treated in this way in places as representative as the "cours Saleya". So my friends paid quickly and joined me saying that the food was not really good (the next day, one of my friends told me that she was sick the whole night). read more
