All I can say is if you're ever in Nice go here if you're American and you won't go wrong! The staff is super friendly and super cute and so attentive! Also the best part: ALCOHOL! I have never ever had such yummy cocktails in my life! Yeah Ma Nolans was a welcome surprise. Sitting on the street watching the world go by is a truly great French pass time so to have that ambiance while you sip a nice pint of Guinness and wolf down excellent chicken curry over chips and rice made it all the better. Their nachos were a true surprise. Generally Mexican food is poor in Europe but these nachos had fresh chips, nice jalapeños cheese and chicken all in good proportions. We also had the burger which was perfectly done. The kids menu giving them a drink ice cream and a choice of excellent kid friendly mains for 9 euro also turned out better than we would have expected. read more

Cheapest happy hour we could find in Nice! Service was less than spectacular, but they all spoke english (are irish or british) for my boyfriend, have a great cocktail list, and even the regular drink prices are less than happy hour and most other restaurants in Nice. Had the Mediterranean Blue, Bloody Mary, and another blue drink, boyfriend stuck with cuba libres - 4.90 euro during HH, 7.90 (?) regularly priced. Large outdoor seating area. Only minus is the typical parisians smoking like chimneys all over you - but that's the case in most places. read more

Went to Ma Nolan's while in Nice for the weekend. It was absolutely crazy; packed to the brim with people there to watch the game. We were in Nice in 2007 for the Rugby World Cup England v. France Game and they were showing it at Ma Nolan's so the place was extremely packed with English guys yelling at French guys and such! It was way worse than a Red Sox/ Yankees rivalry. It was a ton of fun and kind of out of control. I am not sure if it gets like this every night but this place is definitely worth checking out in Nice, especially if you are interested in going to a casual place with cheaper prices and a lot of fun! We came back a few nights later and ate dinner here. It was pretty good but typical Irish Pub food. Good for a quick bite to eat but not for traditional French food in any way. If you are looking for some local flavor I would not recommend eating here but if you are looking for some burgers and beers and either a place to sit outside or a place to watch the game then this is the place for you. read more

Stopped here on the way home for a quick beer and light dinner. Place was packed so we didn't get a chance to sit outside, but inside was just as good. I started of by trying a new way of drinking Stella. It was called a Monaco: Stella, 7Up, grenadine. It was pretty good, but a tad too sweet... You need to be in the mood for it. We decided to share our meal so we got a bowl of the soup of the day: sweet potato- which was delicious and with a spicy kick and a tandoori chicken sandwich, which was equally good. The service was good, food came out quick. The only little issue I had was the seating. The booth wasn't very comfortable to eat in because the table was too high, and being a bit of a shorty it was awkward to eat comfortably. Great spot though... I have been coming here for ten years now and it's difficult to rate as the staff change all the time! The current crop are only awful however! If I land and there is eight staff and not many more customers you might expect a certain standard of service, nope too busy chatting! This was across a few days mind! Food is even more freezer to fork than usual and is of a very poor standard and too expensive! HORRIBLE. Service and food were bad. SERVICE: I might as well have ordered from a kiosk, at least they greet you, are quasi present and have communication skills. FOOD: Pancakes/bacon and fish & chips (photos). Pancakes look like and tasted made from an Easy Bake Oven - Flat/Tasteless and box like. While the fish looked good on the plate, it was nothing but a blob of grease. When I broke open the fish breading, the grease flowed out like pus from an infection. Notice the oil on check, literally Exxon Valdez. The chips were limp and saturated in oil. Simply gross. When I pointed this out to Lilly, she robotically bobbed her head and asked if we were ready for the check. At least a kiosk would have allowed me to take a survey. Corporate vibe and careless attitude. BTW, originally arrived at 10:30. (Stated open time is 10). Told to come back at 11, still not open. Opened at 11:30, which should have been the first warning - Avoid. Would suggest Wayne's for atmosphere, service and food. read more

So I've been in Nice just 3 short days and I found myself here two of those nights! Very attentive staff - especially Gordon and Andrew!! even when it's packed these staff are working tirelessly to accommodate your drink order quickly, the food order and the sports on TV request. This pub cares about all sports - male AND female. Came to France for Women's World Cup and wanting access to all games in TV- they were more than happy to tune in to all games for the fans!! Good food at a reasonable price. Good selection of alcohol, though some types are pretty pricey. The staff are almost all expats, so everyone speaks English. They also have a trivia night in English at the Ma Nolans in the Port, which is in English too. It gets very crowded though, so if you're going out for dinner or to trivia, definitely get there early or you'll be standing! read more

Ma Nolan's is a really fun and lively spot in Nice. I have been there a few times for happy hour and trivia night. The staff is really friendly and they all speak English since it's an Irish pub. The food is good. It's pretty standard pub food, so it goes great with a beer, which are all under 5 euro at happy hour. I would recommend checking out tis location or the port location for trivia night. Trivia questions are in English and French and cover a wide variety of topics. Ahhh Ma nolan's. I cannot express with words the amount of gratitude I have for this bar. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was impeccable, and after an afternoon of laughs and good times my friends and I left the bar for the airport leaving a portrait of ours behind. No worries though, because Ma Nolans is a fine Irish establishment with passion for costumer satisfaction. Even though we live in the states, Ma Nolans had one of their employees send it priority mail to us the next day. Great food, great environment, great staff. read more

It was a welcomed oasis complete with Guinness and even an IPA on tap. I'll admit, the IPA is not as "hoppy" as one you'd get in the states, but it was a nice break from 1664! The fish and chips were tasty. Our waitress was Irish and the service was on par with Irish pubs. read more
