This review is about one thing and one thing only. Pizza. Blah blah blah, hubby and I went for dinner...let's get to the important stuff. My pizza. I ordered the funghi pizza. Let's break it down. The crust: thin & crisp with a nice chew, bubbly edges, and made with imported 00 flour, delish! The toppings: Wild mushrooms gave the pizza a nice earthy aroma and a bit of a meaty feel, the spinach was cooked perfectly so as to not make the pizza watery, the thinly sliced pancetta was cooked to crispy perfection, the lovely truffle cheese was subtle, creamy and not at all overpowering, and nestled in the center of the pizza was a soft cooked egg, perfect for dipping each slice into the soft yolk. Heavenly. Crispy, creamy, earthy, salty, smoky, chewy, soft, fresh, unctuous, magical pizza deliciousness. The level of umami in this dish is outstanding. This is hands down the best pizza of my life. It would be an absolute travesty if they decided to take it off the menu. So 5 big bright shiny stars for you La Luce, I bow down to your pizza. Exceptional service with a elegant look and feel inside. Staff was very attentive and clear of the menu and recommendations. Food came out hot and fast. We ordered a kids pasta which my older one liked. My wife got a shrimp pasta and i got a pesto vegetarian pasta which we both liked. Our server was Rusty(not sure if I'm spelling his name right though) and he was exceptional. Orlando has been pretty low on service experience probably being a vacation place but this one is winding our vacation on high note. Thanks to great staff and warm hospitality. 5 stars for food and service. We got a big table but the couch was little ripped not a big issue but does feels a little weird on an high end restaurant. This was our second time here so we did have a good experience two years ago. Last night was not great. The service was not great. Our waitress did fine and was busy but there was a lot of staff standing around ignoring the dirty plates on the table. A restaurant needs teamwork and direction to function efficiently and I did not see any of that last night. The food and drinks were okay but overpriced for what it was. There was not even a scent of anything cooking in the air which, for us, is generally a sign that the food is average. There will not be a third visit to this restaurant. read more

A nice but way expensive Italian restaurant located in the Hilton that's connected to the Waldorf Astoria. Like most Italian restaurants it bit dark inside. The service was excellent although there was a little resistance to alter some of the dishes for special dietary needs. The chef took good care or us. I had a ceaser salad without the croutons. It was good, it was whole pieces of romain hearts with anchovies, a parmigan cheese wafer and really tasty dressing. Then I had the spicy half chicken, except it wasn't really half, It was more like 3/8. There was no leg and half the wing was gone. La luce is the sister restaurant to my number one restaurant in Napa, Bistro Don Giovani. Founded and operated by people that insist on quality, perfection, and impeccable service. So it comes as no surprise to me that La Luce is the #5 restaurant in all of Orlando on Trip Advisor. I've been coming here for 2 years and it quickly has become my favorite in the area. The level of consistency and impeccable execution of each dish pairs flawlessly with the courteous, professional staff that attend to every need. And it is reasonably priced! We usually start with a pizza Margarita as an appetizer. Crisp Neapolitan style crust with fresh tomato, mozzarella, and basil. Simple and delicious. As though it came straight out of Naples trattoria. The spaghetti vongole is outstanding if you like shellfish. Perfect al dente pasta with fresh clams, garlic, and zesty tomato sauce. The handkerchief pasta made with silky sheets of hand rolled pasta, pesto, and pecorino. Amazingly prepared. Also deserving of honorable mention: seared salmon, risotto del giorno, zupe del giorno, and the fritto misto. 20$ cork fee is quite reasonable for a resort. The wine list of bottles and by the glass is very good, too. Save room for dessert. I recommend the Bostini. You could also drink your dessert with a selection of disgestifs, amaro, grappa, and scotches. 12/28/16 Bistecca. 16oz ribeye wood charred med rare. With peppercorn sauce and perfect grilled asparagus. Ravioli ricotta. Absolutely amazing and offered with pomadoro or lemon cream sauce. Ask for both! Shareable side of white Beans. Grown and flown in from California. Brined, soaked and served warm with garlic and herbs. Incredible. Must recognize Stefan, Stephano, Candace, and Naseem. All made us feel like family during The Christmas holidays. Highly recommend La Luce to anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine in central Florida. Overall good experience. Excellent service. Prices are not for the faint of heart, particularly the wine. We had salads and pasta courses. Caesar salad had exceptional quality lettuce. Simply one of the best Italian restaurants in Orlando. From the manager, Rick to the server/bartender, Debbie, who took care of us... We were staying in the hotel and ordered a pizza which sounded wonderful but was not. We were told to come downstairs to the restaurant in 30 minutes to pick up the pizza after we ordered. We paid 34 dollars for a tiny thin crust pizza that wasn't even warm. Our two year old who is super petite was able to eat half of it. Order elsewhere if you are actually hungry. We have been eating at the Hilton for a few years now when we come down for a Disney trip. We have always dined at the poolside restaurant, Harvest (which we LOVE!). We decided to try something new and dine at La Luce. We tried to get a reservation a few days before and there was nothing available so we called the day of and they told us to just come in and they would put us on a wait list. We came early and the restaurant was virtually empty. The hostess informed me that the first table they could give us would be at 9pm. I asked to be put on the wait list and she gave me a rude look and said they do not have a wait list. She let me know that we could sit at the family style table in the bar area (first come, first serve), which we decided to do. We waited at the bar table for several minutes before the bartender came to get our drink order. My FIL jokingly said, we thought you'd never ask. The bartender quickly said how busy they are....but the restaurant was nearly empty at this point. . The waitress was nice but also mentioned how busy they are (by this time they had filled up a bit but still had several empty tables). It took a long time for our food to come! We ordered the calamari as a starter, which was delish (had shrimp and veggies mixed in). For dinner we had a variety of entrees - mushroom fettuccini (too salty), ravioli (delicious!), grouper special (delicious!), and the lamb shank (delicious!). The kids had buttered noodles with Parmesan cheese and a side of baby meatballs (also delicious!). We also ordered a side of brussels sprouts which were yummy!! After a day at a theme park We Three wanted a relaxing dining conclusion for Xmas 2018. We phoned as we approached the valet parking at the Hilton hotel, and had a banquette booth table, each separated by pillows, near the entrance, by the windows with views of the hotel pools. The Xmas special menu was tempting but we were not so hungry. We had the fritto misto appetizer, generous with calamari and shrimp, the risotto with filet mignon that was well-made, and the Berkshire Pork bone in chop that was flavourful if a bit over-cooked for pork consumption safety reasons. Fantastic experience. Our server,Jeff, was exceptional. His knowledge and ability to articulate the meal prep as well S overall demeanor made it easy to find our meal choices. Then we paid our compliments to the chef as well as the manager, Rachel. For food, we ordered the Fritto Misto which had great flavor and cooked to proper frying techniques. Next we had the Caesar salad which was very good considering the Romaine lettuce issue at the time of this post. For our main course, we split the Bolognese pasta and the Fettuccine al limone which features octopus. Both were delicious!! Last by not least was the dessert which was awesome! It's been 4 years too long since I've last eaten here and boy oh boy did I have such an amazing meal! Dined here for a double date and was so surprised to see this place was not busy at all. I know it IS the slow season for Orlando but we were 1 of probably 6 tables it seemed. Doesn't La Luce participate in Magical Dining??? Something to reconsider... We were greeted and sat in a booth which was comfortable and roomy. At first I was freezing but throughout our dinner I got comfortable. I loved our booth because we could see Disney fireworks through the glass on the side of the restaurant that appeared to go out to a terrace area where we saw some other people sitting. The restaurant is actually perfectly positioned on this side of the building so many viewpoints are found for fireworks - if you time your dinner right. Our server was this bubbily personality named Nela that gave us great recommendations in detail on each course. We got a special dipping oil concoction which was great as at first I wasn't impressed with just the bread and oil (see photo). She definitely didn't steer us wrong and was super attentive, never hovering, all evening long. We didn't catch any of the food runner names however they took it upon themselves to checkin on us as they delivered our plates. We felt like VIP the entire time. If you go, ask for Nela - you'll be sure to have a wonderful experience. At any rate, we started out with ordering a cocktail with our bread and dipping oil. I had the Gin/Vodka/Cucumber drink which sounded good but was a little on the sweet side for my personal preference (our server warned me of that, but I just love cucumber/gin based drinks) but it WAS refreshing. We each ordered a different cocktail so we could taste everything. Appetizers....we got the Fritto Misto (Calamari, Rock Shrimp, Fennel, Onions Green Beans and (not) Spicy Aioli), Grilled Octopus Skewers, Prosciutto, Four Cheese · Rosemary Flatbread, Caprese salad and Roasted Beet Salad. My favorite was the Flatbread (you can count on this restaurant to have a wood fire brick oven which anyone knows produces the BEST results) and surprisingly enough the Octopus. I've never had it before but was feeling brave. The char/smokiness is what sealed the deal for me with the roasted cherry tomato and potato puree. Entrees...I probably ate 5 bites before stopping myself if I was going to make it to dessert. Again, each of us got something different. Their pasta is all house made and absolutely amazing. Between the shrimp risotto, black and white spaghetti, Donna's Favorite Pork Meat and Porcini Ragu I was in heaven! Dessert...OK I lied, THIS WAS HEAVEN. I by NO means am a dessert person. I love my savory and salt. I hear their pudding has their own FB Page? Lol...Naturally the Hilton Bonnet Creek has their own pastry department so everything's made in-house. I had the Affogato (Gelato, Espresso, Whipped Cream Frangelico and Carmelized Nut topping was so pretty! The Whipped Cream was out of this world!! Everyone else got the Butterscotch Pudding with House-made Toffee is to die for. TIP: Use the Toffee as your spoon and you'll be drooling all over your plate. Needless to say this place knocks your socks off. There's a reason why they're top ranked. You simply won't be disappointed. I never write reviews but I can't let this one go. I cannot believe the condescending and outright disrespect towards women that occurred from management at this establishment. If you want a male manager, Steve, telling you to quiet down and lower your voice when you're asking for something calmly and not loudly by any means, then choose this place. We, 10 women, were in a private room and not disruptive at all. The meal started out great but when we received our bill that totaled over $1500 is when the issues started. We asked before the meal if they could split the bill as some were ordering bottles of wine and others were not and the server told us she would. We intentionally asked before the meal to make sure there wasn't a "no split" policy. However come the end of the night she refused. When we asked to speak to the manager he came in and spoke to us in the most condescending manner which is unacceptable for any restaurant let alone a high end restaurant in a well known hotel. When confronted he apologized but then after they finally split the bill, as promised at the beginning of the meal, he proceeds to come back into our private room and say, "Congratulations you won!" Unreal. It's 2021 people. Outright disrespect and misogynistic behavior is unacceptable. read more

Amazing experience! Nela and Luke made our experience! They created a casual, friendly experience wrapped with fine dining steps and touches. Food was dynamite. Try the Fried Olives, Ravioli with Lemon Cream Sauce and Pork Chop! Had the Butterscotch Pudding and the 100 Port Flight for dessert. Delicious. Okay this super chic Italian restaurant in the Hilton is pretty cool. The atmosphere is very on-point. Pros: -Service here was really top notch. Very attentive without being overbearing. Wine pours were great, water glasses were never empty, etc. Service alone upped my review from 3 to 4 stars. -The bread was a great addition to the meal and they give each person their own little dish for olive oil. Something everyone should do, because who wants to fight over how much salt goes in the dipping oil? No one. -Certainly better than the restaurants at the Wyndham across the street in service and quality. Cons: -Maybe it was just us and we're not used to the FL air conditioning, but we were so cold it was hard to enjoy our meal. -Food is overpriced, but that's literally every restaurant in site. I may have just found my new favorite restaurant in Orlando! Booked the Food and Wine weekend four course meal for $55/person as our anniversary dinner. We opted out of the wine pairings for an extra fee but instead got the amaretto sour and lemon head. Everything was delicious! Our hostess/server forgot the extras they were going to do since we were celebrating but regardless they were very nice. The food was excellent, our favorite being the seared salmon. Dessert was a bit lackluster because they were out of a few items so we had to pick off menu. La Luce is located in Bonnet Creek which was a short walk from our hotel at Waldorf Astoria. We had eaten at Bull and Bear the previous night so our expectations weren't as high. Boy was I wrong ! For an appetizer we ordered the fritto misto which was incredible ! The portion was large and the sauce was great. I then ordered the special which was a seafood pasta and my wife ordered Pappardelle Fantasia. My plate was absolutely loaded with seafood and the sauce and pasta was cooked perfectly!! I was amazed at how good this was. My wife also said the Pappardelle Fantasia was one of the best dishes she ever had. Due to It being my daughters second birthday weekend, the server also gave us a free dessert. While I didn't eat any of it, my wife said the gelato she got was great. The only hiccup was the server took almost 20 minutes to return to our table from the start but after that there were no issues. read more

I sat on the patio at La Luce. The server we had was talkative, friendly and attentive. He added value to the experience and was attentive and engaging. I tried the Fantasia. This consisted of homemade saffron infused pappardelle. The pasta was a bit wider than I'm used to but was good. I didn't notice a lot of saffron and I didn't think the dish was spicy, which was something the server mentioned, but I did enjoy it nonetheless. The sauce was very light. The tomatoes are not so much as part of the sauce, but just cut in half yellow and red roasted roma style tomatoes. For dessert we got the pick three sampler. It was massive. You get three full-sized desserts. I tried the Affogato, which is more of a dessert drink. It is espresso with gelato in it and was topped with whipped creamed and nuts and served with a delicious biscotti. I also ordered the sorbet; I tried the Mandarin and lemon sorbet. The sorbet consistency was not my favorite - it was too icy. It was served with an average tasting chocolate chip cookie. The final item of the trio was the Boston Trifle, which was a layer dessert with carmel at the bottom and chocolate on top with custard in the center. The flavor was good, but none of them were very strong. Overall I am between a 3 and a 4 for this place. I was thinking 4 when I Started writing this review, but as I am recalling my meal, I am realizing none thing that I would is something I would get a taste for a rush back for. This is my 2nd time coming back to La Luce and I still wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be especially coming from a higher end restaurant in the Disney area (Hilton Bonnet Creek). The restaurant is very nicely designed, great ambience, and clean...also if you get a seat near the window facing Disney area you may catch the late night fireworks. For starters they have a great selection of wine and cocktails just be ready to pay a little more for drinks. We had a bottle of wine this time and it went well with our meals. For my main course I had a special for the night "Piatto" which was wild boar bolognese with penne pasta. It was good but it could've been better. First of all it came out a little less then room temp which was odd, the flavor was good but I felt could've been more, and from what the waiter said it was hearty and full of protein but not what I expected. The one bright side of the meal was the aged cheese they put on it it was yummy. I did get to try some linguini di mate which I should've ordered because it was more flavorful and had a lot of seafood (I recommend this). The waiter we had was very informative, friendly, and attentive which made the experience better. Overall there are better places to get Italian food in my opinion but if you're in the area you could give it a try. read more

Really good Italian food here! In a hotel lobby was the big shocker! You can't see fireworks from the hotel, so don't be tricked. I enjoyed a fresh crisp Cesar salad, with a real anchovy. Dressing was not thick and creamy but rather light, tangy vinegar as it should be - shaved Parmesan and croutons. We split the veal and lamb meatballs with a light marinara, a little peppery for flavor, the homemade in house pasta seemed like a pile of ribbons cut from the edge of a lasagne noodle. Very good. Kids had a bambino pizza to go with fries which they split and ate I'm the whole pizza! An amazing feat since my kids rarely finish their food. Dessert, raspberry panacotta, frozen granita, and a tiramisu (this could use a thicker marscapone layer, but both were a delightful finish. Try it out read more

Came in around 9pm on a wenesday. The lighting is very low and after entry the first thing you see is the bar. The bartender is shaking up drinks with a huge backlit display of liquor. No drinks for me, so I proceeded to the hostess stand twd the center of the room. We were greated and promptly seated. Our table was aganist the far wall very close to hostess stand. The table was pretty close to another table and I could hear the entire convo of our neighbors. I was very happy they left soon into our dinner. The seating was comfy even a large pillow they offer to remove. I wish i would have seen farther into the resturant but we did have a good veiw of new guests and the bar action Our waiter was attentive and another server brought house water in a clean looking jar. There was fresh bread and oil for dipping. The bread was very good but the oil was not my favorite. We got a ceaser salad to start, hold the anchovies! The lettuce was ice cold but did not water down the delicious dressing. Fresh cheese and a few croutons. Overall the salad was very delicious. We ordered the lamb and a hot Italian pizza. The pizza was well done. Thin crust with lots of quality toppings. I ordered the lamb medium rare and out came 3 pieces of french rib chop cooked all the way through. I have never had chop well done. but it was still very good. I love lamb so the reason for 4 star is because it wasn't cooked as i ordered it, The oil was just okay and tables we sat at was too close! The waiter was very accommodating.The lamb was served with asparus, mint risotto which was very good. We finshed with dessert, tiramisu which was soaked in liquor! Previously, I've dined with them 4+ times a year and they have always exceeded my expectations.. top notch food, service, wine selections.. and the desserts.. ohh my goodness are they amazing to look at and so delicious to the last bite..
