We drove up to the restaurant to see when they will open and we're very fortunate to run into the owner Nathan he invited both Patty and I for lunch for his soft opening with a select few clients. The place is beautiful and inviting a place I will keep coming to eat I ordered the chimichanga and the chicken tortilla soup both were superb the guacamole was perfect the skinny margarita was made with fresh squeezed lime and was delicious the prices were just right I I am enjoying the fried ice cream. La Loma in Parker does not hold up to the standards set by the other locations. We have been fans of La Loma for a long time and were very excited that one was opening so close to us. We have gone three times and each time we have been disappointed by underwhelming food for the prices. The green chili has become a watered down mess and the rest for the menu isn't much better. I don't mind spending good money for good food but this isn't fitting the bill anymore. To their credit the waitstaff and bartenders that we have had each time have been knowledgeable and very personable. Hopefully they can tweak some issues in the kitchen and get back on track. read more

Visited here tonight - it's a little closer than our usual location at Castle Pines. I ordered steak fajitas and asked for lettuce instead of tortillas. The waitress/bartender said "sure!" and entered my order. Later, both my order and husbands comes out - I don't have any fajita sides or lettuce. The runner brings me my sides: sour cream, guac, pico, cheese. No lettuce. No tortilla even. I ask for my lettuce. I'm told "the cook said he's too busy to send lettuce." I show the bartender my husbands plate of shredded lettuce and say "I just want some of this, but not shredded." She's says "I'm sorry." I explain to her "I appreciate that but I'm not asking you to apologize. I'm just asking for lettuce." She tells me she needs to get a manager. Austin the manager comes out in a smart looking plaid jacket, I compliment him on it. I ask him "could you help me get some lettuce leaves?" He assures me, "sure!" Austin returns a minute later and tells me "I'm sorry, the cook says he's too busy." I look around. It's a Sunday night and the restaurant is literally half-full. "Austin, I'm just asking for lettuce. I'm not asking for artisanal tortillas here" He tells me "I'm sorry. That's an accommodation. He's too busy." I gesture to my husbands plate of lettuce that came with his flautas "I just want that, but not shredded" He tells me "that's an accommodation" Just then the bartender comes up behind me with a plate of lettuce. Thank you bartender. You're wonderful for understanding the request. What kind of restaurant argues with a customer over lettuce??? I'd rather go next door to Blackeye Pea, order a bland steak but be greeted with the most wonderful customer service than to argue about a Diva Cook who can't be bothered to send out a couple leaves of lettuce. read more

Parker location finally opened, we have been anticipating it's opening. Fans since back in the day when the original location was just off of the Valley Highway (I-25 for non Denver natives). Ambience was great, service was slow, and food was good, but w/ their highly inflated prices I expected way more. Will likely go back to Los Dos Potrillos just up the street, for similar quality food and more reasonable pricing. La Loma you need to lower your pricing, it's unrealistic to charge $18 for a bean/cheese burrito that cost you less than $5 to make. I'm sure you're working to make up for months of non occupancy, but please don't make your patrons be responsible. Would love to come back, your green chili is delicious, but will need a bank loan. read more

La Loma A Spicy Solo Date Night Adventure Once a week I wine and dine... with myself, because honestly, I'm fabulous company. This week's date? LaLoma Mexican. Let me just say, the chips and spicy-ass salsa? Non-negotiable. Tongue-tingling, nose-sniffling, why-am-I-like-this levels of heat--and I loved every second. I went for the fish tacos, which were unexpectedly spicy--like "first date tells you he's a crypto bro" kind of spicy. But totally manageable, and actually delicious. The staff? Attentive, kind, and thankfully didn't try to talk to me too much because I'm low-key and high-maintenance in the most graceful way. Now for the entertainment: the man next to me was on a date from hell, loudly comparing Hollister and EXPRESS jeans like he was hosting a TED Talk on denim. Sir, Im not impressed. Bonus note: apparently the Fourth of July here was a tribute to single men and women over 60 with nothing better to do than flirt at the bar over margaritas and mild salsa. I have to say the waiter Blake was outstanding. The restaurant is very nice inside no complaints. I took my daughter there for her birthday along with my wife and my daughters boyfriend. Everyone enjoyed there meal except for me I had the combination plate with a brisket burrito and a ground beef enchilada. The brisket and the green chili were way too salty for my taste, I could not finish the meal because of the salt. The price of the food in my opinion was fairly overpriced as with everything these days. I will not be back, when you pay that much for a meal it should be outstanding and you should leave with a good taste in your mouth. I had such a great experience here! The tequila shrimp was absolutely incredible -- perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The sauce had just the right amount of kick without overpowering the dish. Easily one of the best shrimp entrees I've ever had! Our server, Ashley, made the whole experience even better. I really hesitated to go to La Loma in Parker because the prices are pretty high. However, they have a new $17 lunch that we should all take advantage of! My daughter went last week and raved about everything. I went today with a friend and we enjoyed delicious and very filling burritos and sopapillas. The Acapulco salad is yummy! Disappointing is the best word I can use to sum up my experience at La Loma. My coworkers had recommended it, raving about how great it was and even comparing it to Los Dos Potrillos, so I walked in with high expectations. While La Loma feels a bit more upscale, I'm really there for the food, not the fancy water carafe. Honestly, I felt at least 20 years younger than the average diner around me. The chips and salsa weren't bad, but the salsa was surprisingly mild with no heat at all, which was disappointing. We also tried the chile con queso, and while it looked appealing when it arrived, the flavor just didn't deliver. The cheese had a grainy texture, which didn't help matters. Even my wife, who's a huge fan of Mexican food, thought her dish lacked flavor and said everything was bland. The food wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't great either. Personally, I like my green chile with a little heat, and La Loma's was spicy as a bell pepper. If you're someone who enjoys bold flavors and a bit of spice, I'd recommend sticking with Los Dos Potrillos. The line out the door is a clear sign that their food hits the mark every time. read more

First visit to this location in Parker. We had a reservation - the restaurant was very busy. (appears to be a popular new place). Parking was a challenge. It was a beautiful day, so we waited outside until the hostess called our group. Ambience was nice although very loud inside. We noticed some construction leftovers by the front doors. Our server brought margaritas which were not very good. They seemed to be watered down. We skipped the appetizers and ordered main courses. The food was slow to come out. I ordered chimichanga with beef. What came out was overcooked and resembled Chinese egg rolls. They were difficult to eat even with knife. Rice and beans were not flavorful and full of cheese. I asked for green chili smothered and they served green chili on the side. I think some of our other orders were not tasty. My friend had red sauce that was too spicy even though the server indicated it would not be. My friend could not finish his meal because of this. Our server asked if we wanted a dessert and we ordered sopapillas. While we were waiting for dessert the server decided to drop the check. We all commented that this was very unusual. The manager came by to see if we enjoyed our meal and I told the manager that we were still waiting for sopapillas. The manager did not seem too concerned and did not engage us with further conversation. While we were still waiting for dessert our server came back and said she needed the small metal tray as they had run out. (This is the small tray that the check is delivered on.) I have never had a restaurant do this. You would think that they would order a few extra trays for the check so that there are plenty for each table. The dessert finally arrived. We paid the check and left a decent tip even though service and food was less than we had hoped for from this location. read more

We'd been eagerly waiting for La Loma to open, so when it finally did, we were excited to check it out. We went on a Friday night and, to our surprise, were seated with only about a 10-minute wait a good start. Our server was friendly at the beginning, but unfortunately became hard to find as the night went on. Service overall was slow, from the kitchen to the bar. We were only able to get one round of drinks, and even those came out incorrectly the first time. The kids' menu was given verbally. We had to repeatedly ask for chip and salsa refills, which felt like a hassle for something that should be fairly standard especially with the kitchen being so slow. As for the food, it was decent, but not particularly memorable. For the price, we were expecting more in both quality and experience. To top it off, we had to flag down someone else just to get our check. We really wanted to love this place, but overall it didn't live up to the anticipation. read more

The place was closed for a long time, but I drove by it all the time on Parker Road and recently saw that it had reopened. I heard something about a divorce being behind the closure. Well, that's fitting--because after one terrible meal, I'm divorcing La Loma. Two Diet Cokes, chips and salsa, some guacamole, a combo plate with a chicken enchilada and bean burrito, and the "tequila" shrimp plate. With a 22% tip (it's not the waitperson's fault), that came to $100! Yes, $100 for a subpar Mexican meal--with no alcoholic drinks. On one hand, I'm thinking maybe a few drinks might have made the meal more tolerable, but then I'm sure the tab would have been $160 or $170. Earth to La Loma: not many--if any--folks can pay $100 for dinner. What made it even more painful is that the food just wasn't good. La Loma prides itself on a "scratch kitchen." That's either not accurate, or the scratch chef has no idea how to cook. As my daughter said, we would have had a much better (and obviously less expensive) experience at Chipotle.
