The best meal we had on this trip to Milan. Highly recommend. Lots of local Italians dining here. Feels super homey. Owned by a Chinese family. Service was great. Food was amazing. We loved everything we ordered. Seafood pasta was great. We can't wait to come back! UPDATE: We went back the very next night because we wanted to try their other dishes. We are so glad that we did. My husband got the Scampi dish which is nothing like scampi in the usa which is basically oil and garlic. This italian scampi dish was tomato-based but with a very light cream. You almost could miss the cream if you're not paying attention. It was filled with prawns. The touch of cream gave the dish an incredible savory mouth feel. We liked this even more than the seafood pasta which was also delicious. After several days of eating seafood pasta throughout Italy. I wanted to try something simple and classic. I went with their ragu pasta (bolognese) which was only 10 euros. It was a large plate and hands down, THE BEST, ragu I have ever had in my entire life. This is a MUST EAT. We also shared all the dishes and agree that the ragu was amazing. Nothing was overly salted or greasy. Everything tasted just right. We did order one grilled seafood dish that we did not care for. It was topped with some sort of bread crumb. You tasted the bread crumb more than the seafood. I'd skip that appetizer. If I had to recommend the top 3 dishes, it would be the scampi, ragu and the seafood pasta. The milanese veal cutlet was also nicely done. I had one other dish which was some sort of fish in a tomato sauce with olives and potatoes. There's just something so special about european potatoes. They taste very potato-y a nd not bland. Definitely try one of their stewed potato dishes. The prices are super reasonable, the service is attentive and you'll be surrounded by local italians enjoying life and food. I would dine here daily the next time we go back to Milan. It was that good! read more

The food is here absolutely amazing and the waitresses were super nice as well. At first I was hesitant about coming to Italy because I am allergic to garlic and pasta usually has garlic but they made my pasta without it, saving me an allergic reaction. I ordered the Spaghetti Seafood and it was so delicious. None of the seafood in my dish was overcooked, which is was great because it made the shrimp and crawfish shells easier to remove. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir to go with our meal but it was a little to sweet for us. For dessert, we had the Tiramisu and it was life changing. I don't ever think I can Tiramisu again when I leave Italy. Great service and delicious food! I would definitely recommend this place! read more

Mediocre food but very friendly service. We were staying nearby and decided to try this place for dinner. No problem getting a table. Staff were externally welcoming and patient with our 16 month old daughter. How friendly? They sat with us and helped us feed our baby daughter! Food on the other hand was just so so. The T-bone steak was ok but poorly cooked. It was actually medium on the outside but raw on the thicker parts. The seafood pasta was better but not amazing. read more

Friend and I went here on a recommendation from a couple locals. When placing our orders the waitress tried altering both of them persistently and took much clarification to get what we both wanted. He got the gnocchi with tomato and I got a parmesan risotto. The gnocchi was fine in his opinion, just a little heavy for his liking. The parmesan risotto tasted like a plain white rice. The ambiance itself was nice and it was a fairly cheap meal. Overall, good if you are passing by, but definitely nothing to go out of your way for read more

I had high hopes with several positive Yelp reviews - I have no idea why this place is rated by others so highly. My food was mediocre at best. I had pasta with shrimp and zucchini. The pasta was cooked ok, but the shrimp was bland and a little over cooked. Did not seem very fresh either. My server was friendly and the place had a little charm, but nothing special overall. Interestingly, I came about 8-9 pm on a Saturday night and was one of three tables - an almost empty place. I asked the waitress and she said that their business depended on tourists, and there must not be many in town. That said something in itself. read more

La Locanda dell'Amore - Verry good! Not expensive and you're treated well. - Pizza Near Me - Milan, Michigan

This is a great little restaurant away from tourist traps of Milan. It's quiet and red ambiance is fairly nice after a bustling day of shopping and walking. I would recommend coming here just because it's away from Duomo. On to the food. We ordered the Crab linguini as starter?!? The portion is very un-Italian, but very American. Tastes excellent with light tartness from the fresh tomato sauce blending into the fresh rock crab meat and crab miso. However, because the portion was quite large for me, I did not want to finish all of the pasta. My second dish was the veal in green pepper corn sauce. The veal was quite nice and the gravy with the green peppers made for a little contrast in texture; crunchy yet tender. My wife had the branzino fish. The fish covered in rock salt and baked to just right tenderness. It was delicately deboned and filleted to another serving plate. I'm not a fish person, but the taste is good enough for me to actually enjoy it. What I really enjoyed was the no rush to get you out the door. They made sure we were ready before serving the next dish. Really enjoyed dining here. Will visit again next time. read more

We were looking for a restaurant near where we were staying by Piazza della Repubblica and based on the reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We shared 2 pizzas, 2 insalada mistas and and a tiramisu and they were all delicious. They make their pizzas heart shaped! I got a small house red wine and it came in a pottery pitcher that gave me 2 glasses for 3.50 euros. Was very good and a bargain too. I wish we had another day in Milan so I could go back and try something else. A seafood pasta dish passed our table and it looked molto delizioso! read more

We chose this restaurant because it was near to our hotel and had no expectations. The service was super nice and they brought us the meal real quick. The food was fantastic! We had spaghetti with lobster from the special card and it was sooo good. It was a portion for 2 for 28€, so 14€ per person, for only for 14€ they served us delicious homemade spaghetti in a crab tomato sauce with a half lobster. I don't know where else I should get such good food for this price. We also had a red wine which was really good too. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially because it is not a typically tourist place. read more

My girlfriend and I came here for our last meal in Italy and this restaurant was a great pick! The lobster was delicious, plenty of meat for 2, and easy to get at without working hard or making a mess. The shrimp cocktail salad was unique and as wonderful as it sounds. Our main courses were grest, as was the wi e and service. To top it off, they serve ice cream in cute little complimentary animal bowls you take home! read more

La Locanda dell'Amore - My girlfriend left me for a safari owl! - Pizza Near Me - Milan, Michigan

Pro: Spaghetti was decent. Pizza was mediocre. Con: terrible terrible service. There were three servers but apparently two of them don't speak English or tried to avoid our table. They took orders of local people first even though they came after us. We had to two different server 3 times until someone came over and took order. By that time, the table came right after us had already finished their main course. When we ordered water, they gave us big bottle without asking so we had to ask to switch to small bottle. Also basic amenities were not given to us but were to other tables. The place gets packed and servers are very busy already and they kept ignoring us when we tried to call them. It seemed that they were paying whole lot more to the local customers who will keep the business running than a few tourists who don't speak the language and not come back again anyway. read more

Had the best seafood dinner here. The prices were good and the service was amazing. The people were friendly and they make sure that everything is prepared perfectly. It's really nice that they prepare and de-bone the fish dish we ordered in front of you. I would go here again! read more

We checked into the Westin Palace Milan after flying in from Paris. Spend the day walking around the Piazza Duomo and we're pretty beat. The wife and girls wanted to eat at the hotel. Found La Locanda dell'Amore and convinced my wife to go and I am so glad I did. It was less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Started with cream of asparagus for her and cream of mushroom soup for me. Both excellent. My wife had Tagliatelle Porcini and it was excellent also. I had risotto frutti di Mare. Loaded with fresh muscles, clams, langostino, crab. It was wonderful. Shared a nice bottle of Chardonnay. Bottled water. No desert. I said we we were tired! Good service, nice atmosphere. All that for $58 euro! Great spot! read more
