What arrived looked like a ground beef patty. Not being from the area it may be that locally, that is chorizo. Once our food arrived the check was put on our table with a 'let me know if I can get you anything else' and quick walk away. O. K. We finished our meal and sat drinking our soda, talking, when they came back again and asked if we wanted anything else as our dishes were cleared. Very much feels like we are getting the 'bum's rush' here. Hint, hint, nudge, nudge. During the course of our visit another staff member came by to check on all the tables in our section, twice. So maybe they know this particular member of staff gives off a 'hurry up and leave' vibe? The food is OK, the ambiance is nice with Spanish language music playing and booth seating. Absolutely no complaints. Other than rushing us along, our server did their job competently. Private parking lot in front, restrooms in back. Big space in the back you can reserve for your private event. Credit card payments have a three percent fee added to the bill.

Upon moving to Arkansas, I've been on the search for a solid authentic Mexican restaurant to dine at. Tonight, my search ended. El Mariachi is absolutely amazing! Located on the south west side of Fort Smith, you get a combination of awesome tasting food, delicious drinks, a choice of different heat level salsas, and all at very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I had the street taco plate, with al pastor and carnitas meats with a side of refried beans and Mexican rice - which is all made fresh daily in house. I also tend to judge a Mexican restaurant very hard on the quality of their salsa. The regular salsa is tasty, if you ask for their tomatillo salsa, it is hotter and flavorful with a hint of chipotle pepper in the background, and for those brave enough to try it, the Diablo salsa has just the right amount of heat if eaten in small amounts. I also had a top shelf margarita, which for the price point they have it at was perfectly made and enjoyed. In the end, I had to try their flan. I will state, this is probably some of, if not The best flan I've ever eaten. If you are looking for delicious, authentic Mexican food in a comfortable restaurant setting, look no further and give them a try; you won't regret it!
