Wednesday Special
David B.

Really busy lunch. That would explain the few times we saw our waitress and the reason she refilled my sweet tea with unsweetened tea. She was working pretty hard and she earned her tip. The food was good. I would say it was better than the average Mexican restaurants in the area. The complimentary salsa came in a mild and hot version. That would have been good to know before I tried it. Man, that stuff was hot! Listen, I don't want to gloss over this so I'll say it again; that stuff was hot! When I looked at the menu, I saw a list of daily specials. Today's special didn't seem great but the next day's sounded tasty. I asked the waitress about getting the next day's special (I figured I would simply have to pay full price for it) but she said it wasn't possible. What? That's weird. It's not like it was lobster flown in once a year from the coast of Kansas (you've never had Kansas lobster? You're really missing out.). I took what was offered today and it was good. The whole, "It's not available today" thing sort of left a bad taste in my mouth.

Simply, the best Mexican food I've had in the area outside of growing up in central Texas. Parking is somewhat limited, but the food and service are fantastic. The salsa is stellar. Tortillas are a bit thin. Good option for vegetarians.

the worst "Mexican" restaurant i have ever tried. If you cant make salsa you can't be a mexican restaurant. The food is bland!

Bad service, microwaved food, and very rude. We have been there a few times and it seemed to be this way every time. Never going back.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Fort Smith! I like them all, but this is my favorite. The traditional guacamole is excellent.

The staff was extremely friendly, all were fully masked. The tables inside for socially distance and everything was very well cleaned. My husband had the pork chili rellenos. He has had this dish in other places but nothing compares to this version. It was heavenly. The flavors were delicious. It was served with rice that was delicious and flavorful and a small bowl of beans that had some pork in it as well. He couldn't have been more pleased with the selection. I had the steak fajitas which were a large serving, and also delicious. They were served with the same wonderful rice, refried beans, and homemade flour tortillas. It was an amazing dish it also had some pico to Gallo, and fresh guacamole that was out of this world. I wish we lived closer because this would be a regular stop.

Everything was either oversalted or had no taste at all. The guacamole was almost too salty to eat. The chips and salsa tasted like canned, crushed tomatoes. The food was cooked well, attractively served, looked appetizing, hot, it met all of the requirements except taste. I really dislike negative comments and remember, this is our opinion, but we were not impressed by the food.

The Bandido.......The Best Burrito in Ft Smith!…read more This burrito is packed end to end with flavor: Grilled Steak, Chicken, Chorizo, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Sour Cream, Guacamole, Pico de Gallo and topped with Queso. And if that ain't enough; it comes with fries. A fantastic combination. The chorizo provided the right amount of spice, the sour cream brought all the fresh flavors together. Filling and delicious. This really was and excellent burrito. I'd put it up against anything you can find in Ft Smith. The fries were good, crispy, however next time I would substitute with refried beans. My wife had a simpler version of Sabor Azteca's great burritos, the Asada. Less ingredients, but still a BIG delicious burrito. Great chips and salsa. Both the salsa in the bowl and the plastic bottles were very fresh. Excellent flavors, crispy chips. It is a small clean comfortable AUTHENTIC MEXICAN restaurant, off the beaten path on North O. The service was fast and friendly. The menu covers everything you could possibly want. A little English spoken by the owner. There is no doubt in my mind, that the other patrons in the restaurant this afternoon, were experts on Mexican food; there because it is a great place to eat!

Food The food here is traditional, not commercial looking, like fast food (2 enchiladas, rice and beans) I had Caldo de Camaron, lots of shrimp, not too spicy. Wife had Enchiladas Rancheras, beautifully served, almost too much food for us. These are served with enchilada Sauce of tomatoes, steak, onion and bell pepper. Comes with guac and salad and pico. Service Only service issue is waitress only speaks Spanish. We do not. I used Google translate to request artificial sweetener. Ambience Music was too loud. We'll be back!!

The salsa must have been made in New York City. Don't care for their salsa. The local beer, Lost 40 Honey Love, was quite nice. It's a Bock, full bodied beer sweetened with Arkansas honey. I ordered a 6 oz filet with fries and Mac and Cheese. The steak was perfectly cooked to order and nicely seasoned. However, the steak had too much gristle. The fries along with the Mac and Cheese were OK, but nothing to get excited over which pretty much sums up the dinner. It was OK and it served it's purpose. The service was good, the prices low (except for the beer)

We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday, fighting through the dreadful Rogers avenue traffic. Pro tip: use the side street off Phoenix and come in on Boston. We both got the 3 for Me. It includes your drink, soup or salad and the entree with sides. My wife got the 6 oz sirloin and absolutely loved it. Perfectly cooked, juicy and full of flavor I got the Big QP (only $10.99!). The burger was juicy and delicious. Since I couldn't get chili as a side, I tried the baked potato soup. I would definetly get that again! The food was delicious, priced right, and our server Chris was the best. Lunch at Chili's, even without chili, was great.
