We went a couple years ago and it was pretty good just greasy and heavy. We went last week and the food has digressed significantly. They got all the orders wrong g, the refried beans were gritty runny and had no flavor. Thr rice had. I flavor. The charro beans were full of fat and greasy. When they sent my husbands to chimeras back because they put cheese sauce instead of red sauce they brought it back where they scraped it off and added red sauce and you could still see the cheese sauce. We came in on Saturday evening around 8:30 and was seated promptly, although our server was slow getting to us with only 1 other table in the area. Once we ordered our drinks he came quickly, chips and salsa then came which we both enjoyed; crisp and warm chips, nice flavored salsa and we also ordered the bean dip which had white queso in it, so yummy. Worst service ever! My family and I went to this establishment last night (2/28/23). To celebrate my mothers birthday. This is the place she chose. We usually go to another location but we chose this one sadly. I arrived at 6:12pm. I informed the hostess that I would have a party of 17 arriving at 6:30. She stated that they a table of 8 opened now and the next table of 8 beside that one had people seated but they were paying their checks. At 6:22 she sat me at the first table of 8. My family arrived a few minutes later. Some sat down with me and others were standing and waiting on the second table. Finally around 6:45 the people at the second table left. My family sat in the chairs but the table it self was dirty. After several minutes I asked our waiter to get the table cleaned off. It never happened. After asking the waiter and going up front to the hostess again. I gathered the dishes myself nd began clearing the table. Finally a uoung bus boy came and picked up what I had gathered but never came bag with a cloth to wipe the table down. Again I went back to the hostess, who then went and wiped the table herself. Mind you its about 7pm at this point. We still haveno drink, salsa or chips. I again asked our waiter could we get service. He staedily kept serving the party next to us alcohol but never brought us anything. After speaking to him twice and being told "I really busy". My aunt and I went back up front and asked for the manager. The manager apologized and stated that he woluld get someone over. I asked the manager why every one in the section we were seated in had drinks, chips, salsa and some with food and also being brought beers and shots repeatedly during the time we were there. He could not answer. I then asked was it because we are black ? Manager said please don't pull the race card. I informed him that there was no other explanation. At that point we had been there an hour and we did'nt even have a glass of waterwater. He then said he would get some one right over. We went back to our seats. At this point my family did not want to stay in fear that something would be done to our food. Needless to say I agreed so all 17 of us got up and left. We went to La Huerta on Old Greenwood Rd and the experience was great! we were seated as soon as we walked in and served quickly. I will never enter the La Huerta on Garrison Avenue. Was dying to try this place since I moved here. I was so disappointed. First, our server, and I can't remember his name was super rude. The food here tonight was awesome. I had really good fajita nachos with beef and beans. I was surprised that the beef was not in fajita strips but was almost minced or something. After getting over the texture, I found it was much easier to eat that way. The chips were fresh and the salsa was a solid 7 out of 10. The best part of the visit was the live band playing in the outdoor courtyard. We sat at an inside table near the window and we were able to enjoy the music and people watch without sweating to death in the heat. If you want to listen in the courtyard, GO EARLY!!! Well We went to eat at La Huerta in Fort Smith and were asked if we had a mask? I told them on the bike we did. They said that we could buy one of theirs for $1 or we had to go get ours. I approve. I've been to La Huerta a handful of times prior to moving to Fort Smith, and now that I live here I'm taking advantage of its convenience. They have awesome lunch specials. One day it's a taco, enchilada, rice or beans for $3.99. Can't pass that up! Happy Hour is 3-6 daily with $2 margs and domestic bottles. Tonight I tried the Fajita Taco Salad with Steak and it'll now be one of my go-to meals. Very filing. I'm only giving this place 4 stars because it's your average non-authentic Mexican restaurant.
