regia style elotes. regia meaning monterrey which to my understanding is a city in mexico which prides itself in bringing the grilling culture to mexico. for a city that makes its seem like they invented grilling, you would think they would serve grilled corn, instead the corn here seems to be either steamed or boiled. i can forgive the steamed corn, what i can't forgive is the lack of flavor. the corn cup was closer to a corn soup that needed salt to make it slightly edible. i walked in and the first thing i noticed was how empty and borderline lifeless it was. they had a condiment bar along one of the walls, which i appreciated but i didn't appreciate how old and sad all the items looked. i drive past this place every day and was tempted to come in, their weird hours seemed off putting, but the instagram videos swayed me back. i was catfished and disappointed. go girl, give us nothing. read more
