I came in and Ari assisted me. I explained what I was looking for, and while she was not rude, I felt the overall interaction was somewhat short and lacked the level of customer engagement I would expect from a salesperson.
I explained the type of wheels and tires I was interested in, and I was told that they were out of stock. I also mentioned that I wanted to stay within a reasonable budget. Ari provided me with an out-the-door price on a set of KMC wheels. The price seemed somewhat high compared with other tire and wheel shops, although the price itself was not necessarily the main issue for me.
My bigger concern was the lack of options and guidance throughout the process. I wasn't shown multiple wheel or tire options, and I wasn't really walked through the showroom or given alternative recommendations based on what I was trying to accomplish with my truck.
At one point, when I told her I wanted a specific set of tires, she responded, "Well, I thought you wanted to stay within your budget." The issue with that statement is that I had never actually given her a specific budget. The only questions she asked me were what year my truck was and what model it was.
She then quoted me on a set of Hostile wheels that came out to around $2,000 for the set. The price seemed high to me, especially after comparing similar wheels online.
Overall, the interaction felt more like I was dealing with someone processing a transaction rather than someone trying to help me find the right wheel and tire setup.
If I were in her position, I would focus more on asking questions and understanding the customer's needs before presenting a price. For example:
* What are you trying to accomplish with your truck?
* What kind of budget do you have in mind?
* Have you already done any research?
* What kind of look or setup are you going for?
* Are there specific brands or products you are interested in?
From there, I would walk the customer through the showroom, show them several options, explain the differences, and make recommendations based on their goals and budget.
The store was not busy during my visit, so I feel this would have been a good opportunity to provide a more personalized experience. If the store had been extremely busy, I could understand the interaction being brief. However, since there were no apparent time constraints, I expected more effort to be put into walking me through the available wheel and tire options.
The entire interaction lasted no more than about 10 minutes, and we only looked at one option in the showroom. I left feeling that I had not really been given the opportunity to explore different options or receive much guidance.
I'm providing this feedback because I think the customer experience could be improved by taking more time to understand what the customer wants, asking better questions, and presenting multiple solutions rather than simply quoting a price. read more
